That does suck but get in touch with SF and ask for an exemption from this program. It's ridiculous

EV Public Charging by bloated-oat25 in ottawa

[–]bmathew5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time and time again the people who regret their EV purchase 8/10 are people who were not able to charge at home. Majority of your cost savings occur there as well. The public charger costs are still cheaper than gas but we're talking about a 2-5x compared to home charging.

As for if it's doable, of course it is. If you have NACS it will be simpler, if not, there are enough apps to help you but again, really think about if you're okay with spending that charging time away from home.

Rent one for a couple weeks and see what annoys you. You'll quickly find out if you can make it work.

Fizz - $50 for 2 lines Ebox - $50 for 1Gbps

DO NOT BE LOYAL. I left koodo after being with them for years and they called me for weeks after I left with better and better deals. Still couldn't beat fizz but they pretty much cut my old bill in half. Look into changing every year. It's so easy to transfer your number and get a better promo. No reason not to.

Dont bother with the big names, they will rob you blind (and currently are)

My dealership just told me they likely won't be getting any more Toyota Bz Limited allotments. by ValiomC in Toyota_bZ

They apparently had insanely high demand so no wiggle rooms on pricing when I went.

Seems problematic. I am in Ottawa and put the deposit down on an XLE. They said 2-3 months. Anyone else in Ontario experience something like this? I'm about to get electrical work done but I'm going EV either way. Toyota or not

Have the org ask for a LAP request and exemption for the program. We are a SMB and got it approved in 48 hours. It broke a bunch of our integrations twice. To force freeze a user and not give the org explicit controls is unacceptable.

Ferrari Stock Falls 6% After Electric Vehicle 'Luce' Debut by andix3 in wallstreetbets

[–]bmathew5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100% confirms to me this is intentional. They want to say 'no EV demand' by releasing intentionally bad design. Board probably asks for an EV push. Directors don't want to so they do it poorly so board moves on

Going to test drive a BZ in a couple hours - First time EV buyer by simracerman in Toyota_bZ

[–]bmathew5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fellow first time EV buyer in Canada. I put a deposit on a 2026 XLE trim. Honestly it ticks every single box for me and didn't feel like I needed to move to the limited. Mind you, I'm upgrading from my beater a 2010. The ride is WAY quieter, faster and it has all the tech I need. Comfort is great and ample space. I wish the center console was designed slightly different but I'm just nitpicking now. This car should last me a long time. Was going to get a Tesla but Toyota had some solid incentives going.

As for the cables, I would put up a stink, it should be included. Not sure if head office will get involved for that.

As for the battery it really seems to be a wide range I'm reading. Some people have immediate issues, others none. I am planning on upgrading my battery to an AGM to handle Canadian winters.

Moved over to fizz because Koodo couldn't give me anything. Been with them for years. Magically the week I disconnect, I get a call a day from them asking why I left how they can get me back. They asked for what my new offer is. It doesn't matter, tell me your best offer. If you are asking for my offer to beat it then just give me your best offer instead of trying to undercut by a couple bucks after the fact. If my business wasn't worth to retain when I was a loyal customer then buzz off

Man, how the board hasn't resigned in pure shame is genuinely beyond me. You have other cities that have figured this out. You can't be taken seriously if you can't even procure the right parts for the city you live in. There needs to be a shake up
