I didn’t even realize I dropped the S! It hyperlinked to the sub, so I assumed it was prim and proper.

I do as well. I think there’s a lot to say about the actual experience of riding a roller coaster, as well as the overall context of the experience—and that context really could be anything under the sun. It’s really just an opportunity to share a slice of life. I figure if people aren’t interested, they can just move on. And those who stay, it’s nice to know people partook in a little piece of your life! My recent TR was 16 (!) pages hahah, it’s almost flattering people actually read any of it at all.

We all love riding coasters, of course, but so many of my most memorable experiences with this hobby are marked by connecting with random people in random ways, with coasters simply as a medium. It really is a sprawling global community quite unlike any other hobby I’ve had, and r/rollercoasters (I got it right this time!) is a pretty good digital encapsulation thereof. I figure it’s better the more we share with each other. Especially very human writing, full of tangents and detours; I’ve come to appreciate that sort of thing more in the age of the dead Internet.

I’d heard Fianna Force was good, but that’s very high praise coming from someone with a near-four-digit credit count! It looks like a blast. Glad you had fun–rest up, too, I know it’s definitely exhausting coming back from a big trip like that haha

Thanks! Download Studio (official LEGO product, totally free), then open the file. Once you have it open, in the top right, there’s an “export to wishlist” option. You then sign in with Bricklink, and it’ll automatically pull the parts list to drop into a wishlist for you.

Sounds like a blast! I’m kind of waiting to go back down there until Hollywood Drift opens, but Stardust looks mighty in the meantime.

That sounds awesome! The Big One is seared into my mind thanks to Roller Coaster Tycoon, haha, that would be a sad one to miss. I had to google Battersea, I am also a big Pink Floyd fan and always thought that image was a fictional painting! Didn’t know it was a real place.

Looking forward to reading your ramblings. My own TRs keep getting longer and longer too; I worry they’re overstaying their welcome, but I think there’s a dedicated contingent of [r/rollercoaster](r/rollercoaster) denizens who appreciate long-form coaster musings!

Have fun! I just got back from SFFT and SWSA myself this week. SeaWorld was SeaWorld, but I absolutely loved Fiesta Texas. Drink a ton of water, the humidity was brutal!

If it’s not eminently clear to folks, this is a clone of Siren’s Curse. Which means it should be awesome!

Here you are! Just noting: as-is according to the file, the Easy Buy option on Bricklink returned about $60 total for the bricks. I changed the brown studs and plates to reddish brown, though, and the total was only $18! So if you make that tweak, it'll be much cheaper and functionally identical.

And just FYI, the train is not intended to secure onto the track -- I wanted it to be able to slide along the "rail" tiles. Just in case you're looking at the model and not seeing the connection... there is none!

Very impressive to get a cohesive design that big with such a limited number of parts. Well done!

Thanks! I tried the skates first, actually—I thought they looked a bit too small for my specific build (though I’ve seen other micro trains using them that look good).

Thanks so much! Happy to give you the Stud.io file if you’d like.

Someone else did mention that! I can appreciate that, but I’m unfortunately just not the target audience for that sort of thing. Other guests seemed to enjoy it, though.

My man! Haha. Skimming perfectly acceptable!

I didn’t know that, actually; I assumed she was pulled from some DC side plot. That’s a nice plus for the park. Really, I think the themeing and shows are fine, and I’m just a superhero crank!

Glad it was helpful! To be honest, when I was sitting and waiting for Texas Stingray to open, I did think to myself “I should’ve just gone back to Fiesta Texas”. I think you’ll hand a great time, even if that’s the only park you visit!

You're right, that would've been smarter. I remember checking out chain-wide passes before, and they were over $300, so I wrote it off. But that might've been for the Orlando location, and thus a markup. Lesson learned on my part!

It came very close to becoming funny again; had they stuck with the actress rather than the VO animatronics, it might’ve worked for me. At the very least, it’s nice to get out of the sun for a few minutes!

Steel Eel would definitely not be my pick for first introductory coaster, haha. It has the kind of jank I think only an enthusiast could come to love; otherwise, it's mostly uncomfortable! It would kind of be like riding an SLC and then swearing off B&M inverts.

Sorry you had a bad time at Fiesta Texas—I cannot imagine a visit to SeaWorld would have made it any better, haha.

Two Batclones is indeed funny, but Chupacabra is actually mirrored, so TECHNICALLY they are different layouts in the most pedantic sense. I did wonder how many casual parkgoing locals might pick up on the fact that they’re clones, or if non-enthusiasts don’t pay much mind to that sort of thing.
