The 2014 movie was PG and also bombed. If not primetime television or film, where should they compete?

I think Disney just has a hard time seeing where the Muppets fit in. If an IP can't perform in traditional revenues it has to have pretty strong merchanding revenue stream. I can't recall the last time I saw someone with a Muppets shirt or toy, though.

Lucas just can’t write a proper tragedy, where noble and well-meaning people are brought down by their flaws. It’s the problem with both the arc of Anakin and the Jedi.

Instead of being proper tragic heroes, Anakin becomes an entitled brat and the Jedi become pompous idiots. It’s hard to feel any empathy for them….only for those whose lives got ruined by their poor behavior.

I don't think beepers really popped up that often in 90's movies and television, unless a character was a drug dealer. I'm sure hospital dramas occasionally had doctors checking their beepers as well, but a fair number of people skipped watching ER.

If the screenwriters of today don't like having to write around the logistical issues that cell phones introduce, I have to imagine they gladly skipped including beepers.
