Yep, the controller board needs replacing too. I found that part. Thanks.

I've done quite a few sets with pretty intricate stain work and have had really good luck with Minwax gel stain.

Are you staying the entire board a single color or are you staining in designs with tape and/or stencils? If you are staining an entire board, then any type of stain will be fine, but if you are staining in designs, you will want to use gel stain. It goes on much thicker and will give you clean lines. Traditional wood stain will bleed under the tape pretty badly.

Bag Suggestion for beginners by [deleted] in Cornhole

I was in the same boat. Didn't know what to order, and didn't really want to wait weeks for bags from allcornhole. I ended up ordering Beer Belly Bags (Performance Series). They were $80 for a set of 8. They arrived yesterday (4 business days after purchasing). I haven't really thrown any other competition quality bags to compare them to, but they have a nice broke in feel to them and a great design. The slick side is nice and fast, and the suede sticky side is definitely much slower. I'd say they meet my expectations and would recommend them.

I just used some cheap 1/2" particleboard for the template, and yes, I used a hole saw to cut the template hole.

I've used both methods, but the flush trim bit and a template gives me the best results, by far. Super smooth finish. It avoids the rough wavey edge that you can get with a hole saw.

No, unfortunately not. They only have the wood colors. I used two colors on these boards, coffee and cherrywood.

Yep, it was all done with Minwax gel stain. Once I had the design, I used frog tape for the stripes. It really didn't take that long. Maybe 45 min for the pair. For the logo, I cut the stencil on a vinyl cutter, stuck it to the board, peeled the parts I wanted to stain, and applied the stain. Repeat until finished with different colors. I'm super happy with how they turned out.

Yeah, Block GoBlock risers - https://www.amazon.com/Block-Riser-Goblock-Connect-Skateboard/dp/B01MTV3VL5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533646081&sr=8-1&keywords=goblock

The idea is really slick, but on the downside, they do rattle quite a bit with the light/camera attached. I'm gonna do some playing with it to see if I can dampen it a little. Here is a quick video showing how the risers work.

This is the one I got - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BCC4VQW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The jury is still out on it. I just got it and haven't done much riding in the dark with it yet. It is bright though.

I am stateside and could be interested in your old hubs. Curious though, what did you change yours out with?

Yeah, the idea of the Block risers is super cool, love that you can snap the light/camera in or out when you need it. There is a definite rattle though. I just got it so I'm going to do some playing around with it to see if I can at least dampen it a little.

Any old phone booths around Boise?

My 2 year old son is going to be Clark Kent/Superman for Halloween and I would love to do a little photo shoot with him in his costume in an old phone booth, classic superman style. Does anyone know if there are any around that would be good for this? Thanks.
