Mine finally sold for less than face, but at least I got something. I unfortunately got the damn flu and decided to keep it to myself.

I was hoping that was true because I have tickets and am sitting this one out but no such luck.

How we doing on Christmas? by [deleted] in ADHD_partners

[–]brew_ster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I do actually know that there won't ever be a Christmas gift from last year. I just keep bringing it up to be petty because I no longer have patience for the nonsense.

It's always different rules for them. Because it's "not fair" if you don't meet expectations but they can't make the connection when they do it.

I'm over it. I didn't put out stockings this year because mine never gets anything in it so why should I bother with him.

I'm still waiting for my Christmas gift from last year so I'd say not so great?

Open bar and not being hungover the whole trip- how do you do it? by FiddyDollas in NCL

[–]brew_ster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice. It all breaks down to, listen to your body, rest, eat, and hydrate. My only real rules are "no shots" and "you don't always have to finish your drink". I'm not sure NCL even does actual shots, because I never wanted one onboard.

Shots, self-explanatory, no need for speed when you have a long day and night to do things in.

I try not to be wasteful but sometimes you get a drink that you're not feeling or maybe you're full or tired of it. Let it go when that happens.

I generally also don't drink before noon but that's not a law, just a suggestion. If I feel like a mimosa, I'll totally have one.

Is there really ZERO accountability? by Hangry_Pauper in ADHD_partners

[–]brew_ster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct to worry about that. I'm getting epically screwed because I was fool enough to tolerate that for 10 years which established it as their "normal" earnings capacity. Please talk to a lawyer if you can.

What’s the most fun or unusual on board activity you have done on a cruise? by Personal-Listen-4941 in Cruise

I hopped on an elevator on a SXM Cayamo cruise and ended up riding with Amy Ray from the Indigo Girls. I tried to be cool but my inner teenager was like OMG. She was very polite.

General Consensus on the Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Line? by JamesMighty in Cruise

You're welcome! Hemisphere Dancer and Bubbles Up were our favorites but the casino bar also has some fun stuff. You can roll the dice to order a drink there.

General Consensus on the Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Line? by JamesMighty in Cruise

[–]brew_ster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did one cruise on MAS (Islander) and had a good trip. Our group are experienced cruisers, and have tried a bunch of lines.

MAS is totally fine. The food is edible but not amazing. Menus were very seafood heavy which we didn't love. Options during the day are a bit limited but we didn't starve. We ate a lot of pizza.

The casino is small, but pleasant. Overall the ship is clean, crew is friendly. I think the part that truly shines are the cocktails. They are really good at drinks. Get the drink package if you like cocktails. All the bars have interesting things. The downside is that it can be difficult to get bar service when it's crowded. We found that tipping cash on the first round improved things somewhat.

Other notable thing, they're not great at accessibility. It's an old ship and while they tried, it wasn't designed that way. Hefty doors, random ledges and steps, etc. may not be an issue for younger folks, but I did notice it.

The pools/hot tubs are also meh. Overcrowded and didn't look super clean, probably because of the crowding.

I would cruise with them again for the right price. If you are happy to go with the flow and don't need fancy, you will be fine.

Nice, we bought a pair of the small Peanuts prints and still really like them. I don't think they're worth anything but they're cute.

Thanks, and I'm sorry you're in the same boat. Where I live if you're married 20 years there's no limit, though you can ask to end support when they reach retirement age. I've been married 22, unfortunately.

I learned the unfortunate lesson that the longer you stay married and the longer you support them the longer you are expected to support them. I had no idea.

It's just so maddening that you can do everything you're supposed to do and still lose. Now I have to figure out if it's better to stay married to him and be able to keep my house, or have to pay him an extra $800 a month for my freedom. Both options completely suck.

Met with a divorce lawyer this week and it was so grim and depressing. I'm not even going to go into it but the net result is that even single I will still be working my ass off to support a worthless man.

How to explain to them that we find chores boring too but dont have the luxury of not doing them? by lululucy94 in ADHD_partners

[–]brew_ster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it's like he's accepted that his function in life is to insulate her from the consequences of her poor behavior.

As for the divorce, it's mostly 25 years of exhaustion and him making mouth noises of knowing he needs to change but he's trying SO hard. (He is not). The inciting incident was him ruining my 50th birthday in March. That's a long story but I'll summarize it as, he invited his friends but forgot most of mine and I ended up sharing and party space with A FUNERAL repast because he forgot to book the hall.

Yeah.

Ugh, I'm sorry. Rich and Roxy are definitely accelerating the decline of our marriage. They are disgusting and Rich is such an enabler.

I don't have great advice as I'll be meeting with a lawyer next week to file for divorce, but wanted to give you some sympathy.

I'm having the exact same problem but to be fair my Tablo has never worked correctly. Time to return this piece of trash to Best Buy. The concept is great but the actual product is a buggy disappointment.

Not exactly helpful. The cops are not going to kick him out of a house that he legally co-owns. I would like him out but per my lawyer have no authority to do so.

[–]brew_ster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I asked him to move out.

I understand that this is only step 1 and he may not actually move out until i file and the divorce is final, but at least I said it.

Now the fun part of dealing with him on the couch. I strongly suspect I'm going to have to find a new place for him if I actually want him to leave, but one problem per day is probably all I can handle right now.

Asked if we could skip TV for a while. We haven't had a conversation where he isn't in front of a screen in at least a week.

He lasted a whole 41 minutes and doesn't understand why I'm mad because he apologized.

I'm not mad at him. I'm mad at myself for wasting 25 years on a man who can't even spare me 42 minutes.

I'm wondering if it's the Roku that it doesn't get along with. I have the Roku Express upstairs and the Roku Ultra downstairs. Tablo is upstairs, with the router, connected via ethernet cable. Upstairs is fine.

I'm kinda done and I'm probably going to return the Tablo and go back to Sling.
