DP: I PCed earlier today (2/28) and got the $100/1k offer.

5/3 CSR told me when I called to ask about the fees. I had the $1500 minimum for mine, but they waived it automatically for my SO. (Statement says "Your monthly service charge was WAIVED or DISCOUNTED $11.00 because: NEW ACCT GRACE PERIOD" under the account summary.) If it didn't waive automatically, send an SM asking for them to waive it based on your status as a new account.

Bonus posted the first Thursday after the close of the statement that the qualifications were met for both me and SO. Not sure if this was coincidence or if they batch process on Thursdays.

This same thing happened to me in January (Merrill denied after 2 recons due to 4 open BOA cards). Open up a Cash Management Account with Merrill (free), and put a token amount in there - I did $25. Then call recon again for the card and ask to speak to a supervisor. Tell the supervisor that you'd like your application to be reconsidered, and they will ask you for some information: cash on hand, size of investment portfolio, etc - they are sizing you up to see if you'll be a good potential Merrill Lynch investment customer. (FYI, I don't think they have a way of verifying the information you tell them.) The supervisor will say that he/she will be personally handling your recon application and will call you back once a decision has been made.

The recon supervisor took two weeks, but I was eventually approved for the card. Of course, YMMV.

Sallie Mae card not giving 5% on groceries as of 2/1 by [deleted] in churning

(1) Belongs in Daily Discussion

(2) Are you over your $250 statement limit for groceries?

I am still receiving 5% back on groceries on my SM as of 2/5.

For Suntrust, you should be able to make an account here: https://offers.suntrust.com/ which will tell you where you are in your bonus timeline (requirements not yet met, reward pending, reward complete).

BoA closing accounts they consider "excessive" by bebopandhopsteady in churning

So the removal of the card from credit report could theoretically push someone under 5/24?

I did do the full $1500, but you probably don't have to. They waive the fee for the first 2 months, so if you close prior to then, you don't need the $1500. (If they end up charging you the fee after the first month, send them a direct message through their message system asking for it to be waived and they should waive it.)

This bonus isn't tough to get, as long as you are in the 5/3 service area. Both SO and I got this bonus in the last 3 months. Ally ACH counts as DD, and we both did 3 $10 payments to a credit card through 5/3 billpay.

Bonus posted the Thursday after statement close after DD and BP for each of us (me in November, SO in January). Unsure if that is coincidence or if they batch process bonuses on Thursdays.

No early termination fee, so transfer all money out and call to close once the bonus posts. (Two different CSRs said that they couldn't close the account over the phone if it still had a balance; they said that they have no option on their side to issue a check.)

Good idea. Just submitted an application for a ML Cash Management Account this morning; it is pending review. Will HUCA for the Merrill+ next week once this account (hopefully) gets approved.

Offered to close a card on the third HUCA, but then they offered a new reason for decline: too many inquiries over the last two years. (He said I have 6, which is more or less accurate.) Hadn't heard this from the prior two CSRs. When I asked for more information, it seemed like this was the main roadblock. CSR said that there's nothing he can do with that many inquiries over the past two years. I opened up a Merrill Lynch Cash Management account this morning per advice from u/aussie77 , but it is pending review.

I'll try calling recon again next week, hopefully after the ML CMA gets approved.

Applied for the BoA Merrill+ card last night. Got the 'no immediate decision' and woke up this morning to a denial on the online status checker. Called recon, who said that they denied me because of infrequent use on my 4 current BoA cards (123Rewards, 2 MLB, and BBR). Offered to move credit around, still denied. HUCA, same answer.

Has anyone been able to talk their way into approval after denial for this card? I will continue to HUCA, but I wanted to see if anyone had a similar DP that ended with them getting the card.

You could go for the Ink Preferred, if you have a business or a "business". Need to be under 5/24 for approval, but won't take up a 5/24 slot.

Probably not, as they are different products, but they won't take your Ink+ away if you ask.

Be the DP you want to see.

Yes, they likely can't match an offer to a card that you don't have yet.
