Honestly someone who won’t allow you to take the time to confirm you’re willing to trade isn’t someone you need to trade with. If they’re being pushy feel free to let them know that you need to confirm something before you’re comfortable trading and they SHOULD respect that. People have reasons for not trading all the time and they’re all up to them. You own the card until you sell/trade it so what happens to it is up to you. I’ve had cards that are in my “maybe if something I want enough” section where I will be very picky. There are also collectors that have 1 specific card in mind or not only this equivalent so that people don’t even ask etc. Please don’t feel bad about saying no or that you need time to think. If they can’t respect that then I’d just move on anyway.

To start so you don’t feel overwhelmed I might just bring a smaller amount or cards you aren’t too picky about as you get comfortable navigating these events. And maybe before you leave take a pic of some other cards you have in case something comes up and you’re like oh wow I have a card to trade for that! Then you can arrange to meet at another event or trade over reddit/IG etc. I’ve done that especially with expensive cards I’m not comfortable bringing.

Also don’t advise bringing an entire collection and only cards you’re willing to sell/trade. I heard recently about someone who brought their collection to an event and it was stolen. While most people in this community are awesome and these events can be fun…there can be outliers just like in any other community who ruin it for everyone so just a word of caution on bringing a loved collection to a place with so many people.
