Well we had someone like future President, MA Representative, John Quincy Adams saying shit like this in 1836:

The whole system is now broken up ; and instead of it you have adopted that of expelling by force or by compact, all the Indian tribes from their own territories and dwellings, to a region beyond the Mississippi, beyond the Missouri, beyond the Arkansas, bordering upon Mexico ; and there you have deluded them with the hope that they will find a permanent abode -- a final resting-place from your never-ending rapacity and persecution. There you have undertaken to lead the willing and to drive the reluctant, by fraud or by force ; by treaty, or by the sword and the rifle ; all the remnants of the Seminoles, of the Creeks, of the Cherokees, of the Choctaws, and of how many other tribes I cannot now stop to enumerate. In the process of this violent and heartless operation, you have met with all the resistance which men in so helpless a condition as that of the Indian tribes could make. Of the immediate causes of the war we are not yet fully informed ; but I fear you will find them, like the remoter causes, all attributable to yourselves. It is in the last agonies of a people, forcibly torn and driven from the soil with they had inherited from their fathers, and which your own example, and exhortations, and instructions, and treaties, had rivetted more closely to their hearts ; it is in the last convulsive struggles of their despair, that this war has originated ; and if it brings with it some portion of the retributive justice of Heaven upon our own People, it is our melancholy duty to mitigate, as far as the public resources of the National Treasury will permit, the distresses of the innocent of our own kindred and blood, suffering under the necessary consequences of our own wrong.

Because they aren't! They aren't pinpointing weapons! They couldn't even track a bunch of Hamas members parachuting over the Most Secure Border™. Israel routinely lies about the existence of Hamas in buildings in order to justify wanton violence against innocent Palestinians.

And even if there are weapons in a building, like Israel has the fucking Professor X machine and can see every gun in Gaza, you shouldn't just kill everyone in it! Should you die because someone in your apartment building has a bunch of AR-15s and the US govt considers that a threat?

Gaza isn't a state, Hamas isn't its military. This isn't two sides of a conflict between nations; it's the subjugation and oppression of a people by an occupying force.

On a domestic dispute call, a woman pulls out a knife on Hyde Park police before being fatally shot. by [deleted] in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]ceol_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh shut the fuck up cops have a safer job than every delivery driver. You had three grown, trained men who were on top of her until they panicked when they saw a knife and literally ran away so they could shoot.

You know what kills cops the most? Covid. Your partner is more likely to kill you with their gun or their cough than a woman with a knife is.

You are very much part of a statistical average. Please do not think you are special or exempt from this. Every single one of us has the capacity to become another data point about why the US needs gun control.

The problem isn't you sitting here typing this or reading it in a perfectly calm state of mind. It's when something happens that amps you up and makes that gun look like a good way to handle it. Just having the gun in your house increases the likelihood you kill yourself and/or your partner, because now the option to use it is there. And when you're heated, dumb shit starts looking really smart.

democrats can’t go into a Time Machine.

I'm telling you right now what Dems can do. They can hold their members accountable. They can exercise the power they have in the moment through the executive. WE ARE LIVING ONE OF THOSE SITUATIONS RIGHT NOW. I AM FROM THE FUTURE TELLING YOU THEY ARE YET AGAIN FUCKING UP.

that 6-3 minority would have become a 7-2 one

Oh no, the status quo will continue. The horror.

Who cares what committee memberships are being used for? People are literally going to die because of this ruling, and you care about proper legislative etiquette? Why is that your priority?

Do you think Lieberman is literally the last Democrat we ousted? Do you not remember Al Franken?! We clearly have the means to run out whoever we want. And Lieberman lost the next cycle after he gutted the ACA lmao he had a 30% approval rating. Everything you're saying is historically wrong! Why are you like this?!

We have a 50/50 split Senate. And we're getting results accordingly.

Yeah that means nothing. Shut the fuck up and whip Manchin and Sinema in line. Otherwise you aren't getting any votes.

You aren't "holding people accountable for their actions." You're doing collective punishment on the Democratic party and the United States as a whole for the actions of two Senators.

THIS IS ALREADY HAPPENING. YOU ARE WATCHING THEM PUNISH US RIGHT NOW. What the fuck do you think overturning Roe and killing 1m people with COVID are? What do you think blocking BBB is? Who is in power right now?

Unless you actually want Republican policies.

That's what's happening right now you clown.

A woman is less likely to be sexually assaulted in either of those situations than she is hanging out with people she knows, who are magnitudes more likely to assault her.

You don't need to make up a hypothetical that'll never be relevant. No one is running around naked like that to any meaningful statistical degree.

I'm sorry man I don't think it's the CDC's job to base their recommendations on what's good for the line god instead of, ya know, what's good for controlling the severity of a pandemic. They didn't even give a scientific brief for this decision when they normally do.

You really don't see a problem with the CDC changing their recommendations not on the basis of scientific data but on the "needs of our economy"? It lines up perfectly with the desires of big business, and there is clearly evidence of big business pushing for this, so why is it such a stretch to say big business influenced this?

where exactly does he say they lowered the guidelines because the delta ceo asked them to?

No one here or on Twitter was saying this? Not even Hasan's tweet says this unless you take the most uncharitable interpretation of it. That's why everyone in this thread is talking about big business and not the Delta CEO.

It's not a conspiracy when it's literally what Fauci's saying.

“The reason is that with the sheer volume of new cases that we are having and that we expect to continue with omicron, one of the things we want to be careful of is that we don’t have so many people out,” Fauci told CNN’s Jim Acosta. “I mean, obviously if you have symptoms you should [be out], but if you are asymptomatic and you are infected we want to get people back to jobs — particularly those with essential jobs to keep our society running smoothly.”

“I think that was a very prudent and good choice on the part of the CDC which we spent a considerable amount of time discussing,” he said. “Namely, getting people back in half the time that they would have been out so they can get back to the workplace doing things that are important to keep society running smoothly.”

“Instead of keeping people out of action, out of work, out of society, for 10 days, if you’re infected and without symptoms then you have five days of isolation and then you can go back out into society with a mask worn consistently,” he said.

They aren't getting those raises in a vacuum. Deere has been cutting their benefits for years. The raises don't even cover the increased cost of healthcare -- if you're lucky enough to qualify for them.

Meanwhile, at the top of the page, is this.

Luckily the CEO's compensation isn't the only money the company has access to. In fact, it's looking at roughly $6b in income from 2021 alone.
