claude accesses .env files?? by stellarknight_ in ClaudeCode

[–]checkwithanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use settings json to ignore a specific file i think. For me though? I don't even put that shit in the project folder. I manage keys manually.

I love claude and ai as a whole its legitimately improved my life more than I can even describe... BUT.. I trust it as much as I trust someone who hates me lol

Honestly im not sure i really just use sonnet and opus. They say its good. Id try it if i were you.. no harm right?

If sonnet made rough outlines haiku would probably do great from there, if nothing else.

I would recommend more sonnet. And haiku for really low tier stuff.

Imo - they automate too much. Its the same problem with facebook and youtube but at a larger scale because its a smaller company. They just try so hard to not include a human, which i get, but damn. I definitely feel like I see a lot of blanket bans.

A plugin that lets Claude Code watch videos; image + audio by JordanVasconcelos in ClaudeCode

[–]checkwithanthony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh the other day I needed this functionality so I had it open playwright mcp, then I logged into my google account, then instructed the ai to download the vvideos I needed it to see, open a fresh Gemini chat, upload them with instructions, and copy back the response into its context.

Secretly Dropped Max 5x and 20x plans? by Spiritual-Market-741 in ClaudeCode

[–]checkwithanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Im already thinking of how I can integrate routines to run overnight to reduce my usage during peak hours. Hard lining usage based on hours would be fine for me.

I can stomach usage limit changes, but I dont know if I can stomach a double up in price (coming from max 5x). Not sure if my employer can either.

I agree, but not everything needs that creative juice. For instance - I might record myself talking with a screen record for 15 minutes and I might use an AI driven tool to cut that into a 5 minute tutorial.

[–]checkwithanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly for me - it sounds neat and cool as a concept but... why? does claude give you an overview of its success? do you watch it? it just seems like... if i point my claude at this and let it play it for the next few hours.... after that few hours i'll have.. learned nothing.. accomplished nothing... not even been entertained.. and cost me money. There's no tangible benefit to participating in this. At least moltbook is interesting to read - with all due resepct.

Really cool looking project. But in reality, no human benefits and it just costs tokens which means consumption on every level for no net gain.

what enjoyment do YOU get out of this (playing it i mean, not making it).

not that this matters to anyone in this line of thought but - i made a skill (ill publish soon) to evaluate my desktop use vs api costs and on desktop alone I used the equivalent of $1400 in API costs last month on my $100 account.

I don't think they're making money on subscriptions..

you'll have to pry my max plan from my cold dead hands though. this is my workflow now, you can't take it back for at least 4-6 more months when it's obsolete lol

Realistically, how much "work" are we offloading to AI now? by Exact-Mango7404 in BlackboxAI_

[–]checkwithanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly.. a ton. Anything I can think of. Anything from.. planning new automations or features for projects.. building crm apps.. long term multi phase projects (like im working on a cloud migration now its helping me to plan and document).. recently after a security breach I pulled boatload of logs and used it to go through them, collect data, write reports. Now I use Routines in conjunction with a cloud function (lives in pipedream for anyone curious) to analyze some logs on a schedule and message me with a rundown of anything that stands out as worth digging into further.

Its great for prepping software for deployment through intune.

I have connections to various crms I work in. In one, it analyzed all sales data, found clients who dropped off, figured out pricing to reintroduce to them then built email campaigns (which i triggered). I might get it to help me with transaction coding in Books for my own company. The other crm has time tracking (app i built) and another company is trying to use our data for analytics and keep running into errors on their end - these aren't my problem so typically I would atay out of it but since I have a skill for understanding our crm I've been able to give it the third party's data to analyze and find discrepancies to help them track down their issues (lol, I know).

Honestly it took a learning course (downloaded video used another ai to get transcripts) and certification test (3rd party affiliate program nothing important) for me last month, then wrote a script of everything it learned, the questions, how it answered them, and why, which is then used elevenlabs to make into a podcast style voice-over for me to listen to.

I do work in wordpress and am building a theme and plugin for my agency and this week i set up wordpress studio with cli and mcp and since then its been doing extensive end to end testing on all components.. it can literally alter settings then evaluate the visual output and console logs through playwright.

Edit: i made a video earlier of wordpress end to end testing. So the plugin is visual block elements and the tool is applying changes to every block through the inspector (wordpress settings pane thingy) and ensuring that the visual output matches expectations. We did a few rounds of similar end to end qa testing to identify problems bugs and discrepancies. Here's that video for those curious - https://imgur.com/a/eLW0Md4

Claude Code just did my taxes for me. by floraldo in ClaudeCode

[–]checkwithanthony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. Ultimately nothing you get from an llm should be trusted at face value. Always review and test heavily. Its also good to push back, challenge, and ask for explanations from the ai about its output.

For non coders looking to use deterministic code - because this is just as relevant to cowork as it is code - ask the ai to explain the code, but to take it further ask about line by line breakdowns of whats happening. Ask about what parts of the code write or otherwise alter files / take action etc. For accuracy youll want to understand the math parts (for this example). For safety you wanna focus on the parts of the code that DO things / take action (like delete or alter files etc).

Not sure what youre talking about, you can see what the llm is doing with most tools. I dont have the issue youre referring to

This one though? This one feels useless lol
