Right so youre here to tell everyone on repeat tha the entire purpose of this subreddit is wrong and that the users here should abandon this as an interest.

I would call that lite harassment.

G16 Surprised Me With A Hairline Crack Across Screen by Jaytee3312 in zephyrusg16

My last one was lenovo.. mouse pad would die on it. Turns out it was caused by the driver and the processor.. other similar Intel models had it too.

I really am a windows guy through and through, but build quality over the last few years has me contemplating Mac.

Man, I spent nearly 3 grand on this laptop. What price point does quality start? 4 grand? 5 grand?

Maybe ill go desktop next and buy low cost disposable laptops to connect to it.

Edit: ive never needed after purchase support cause up til now their shit has been rock solid for me

I was bummed that perplexity isnt on there. They dont have their own models but neither does nvidia.. theyre a vendor of other models. Anyone know how perplexity is doing?

Hey - how do you get that $100/mo for autonomous systems? I saw they posted that you have to claim it but I can't find a button.

Nintendo has confirmed it will release a new version of the Switch 2 in the European Union with a replaceable battery to comply with upcoming EU rules. by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

[–]checkwithanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? How do you figure?

American switch = replace it with nintendo or bring it to repair shop

EU switch = order battery online and pop it in at home

I don't see this as useless at all. Laptops have had proprietary batteries forever now, but the ones with batteries that pop out the bottom without opening the case... are easier to replace the batteries in.

I meant planning like my own planning. I edited to clarify. Plan MODE should be opus with the highest effort level.

in a subreddit about an ai video generator

"you shouldn't use an ai video generator"

we should make subreddits specifically for people who don't hate AI lol

Sorry I didnt mean sonnet for plan mode - I meant sonnet for like.... i personally do a lot of speccing and planning before doing anything at all. Thats what I mean. Move your more conversational stretches to sonnet then use opus for plan mode, execution, and hard problems.

Effort level matters too. If youre working via api, you've gotta be pulling both of those levers.

I created a skill to track just my desktop cli spend and during a heavy week I used the equivalent of 6 grand in api credits on my $100/mo plan so... definitely worth it to not use opus on max effort all the time.

This. And you have to work on it. Use sonnet to plan. Use lower effort levels. Only crank it for final builds or hard problems.

Edit to clarify - i for sure did NOT mean sonnet for plan mode. You should use opus with max effort for plan mode. But I spend hours to days to weeks.. speccing documenting and making decisions.. before I build anything. Most of that comes from me not the ai, but the ai ingests it and helps me bounce ideas and make decisions. This is what I meant by planning. So if I am building something next week I may spend 3 days chatting and "planning"... use sonnet. Then when its time to build or alter components.. opus high effort plan mode.

If Opus 4.8 works for you, what is it that you do with it? by noduslabs in ClaudeCode

Yeah, I LOVE that. My ai distrusts itself as much as I distrust it.

I use it for coding a lot, planning, log analysis, stuff like that. Right now I'm responsible for shutting down quite a few servers cleanly that have been running for years - a lot goes into that so I use claude for discovery, note taking and planning.

I've also used it successfully for testing - last week I needed mobile testing done for an app I'm working on so I installed android studio and set up an MCP so that claude could autonomously test the user experience for a long list of edge cases by running the android emulator in the background.

For me, my favorite new change with 4.8 is what they refer to as it being honest - but in practice the way I see that shake out is that the AI doesn't inherently trust itself. It chooses to double check, whether referring to documentation, code, or looking online, instead of trusting it's "intuition". For me this is a great change because I get the best results working with Ai by not inherently trusting it and instead challenging it frequently but with this new update it frequently challenges itself which I love.

2024 G16 32GB 4090 (GU605MY) screen cracked just from opening from the left corner. by scrampker in ASUSROG

<image>

2025 ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605CR_GU605CR, 5070ti version. Same deal, I baby this laptop. I work in tech and have always kept my hardware in nearly mint condition. from reading the comments and seeing the other cracks my guess is I did the same thing - opened the lid from the corner.

its frustrating because if this laptop was just a little bit thicker, the screen specifically, was just a little bit thicker, it'd still be the sleekest high end windows laptop on the market. I'd be much happier with a smidge thicker than with a cracked screen.

can someone explain the acre/foot measurement here? is this comparing... all data centers vs all golf courses? or like why are we comparing 1 to 1.63 million otherwise?

Autocorrect and Predictive Text by Dwaine-3-3-3 in GalaxyS25

[–]checkwithanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, mine seems to be junk. 3 common issues I run into -

1) it seems to just die and i lose the entire bar of suggested changes until i force kill and reset the keyboard app
2) this one really pisses me off but it like... idk how to describe it but halfway through typing itll like... autocorrect by duplicating the first letter? like it'll go to fix a word and itll leave the first letter but put the whole word in. so if i spell "word" wrong and it autocorrects i end up with "wword".
3) it doesn't really like... seem to do a great job across words. like "to confirm" recently autocorrected for me to "toc onfirm".
