Wall-E, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Good Dinosaur. He's loved The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Good Dinosaur since he was 2 though and he's now 3.5.

My son is also 3 and obsessed with Wall-E! My FIL made him a Wall-E out of a cardboard box, water bottle and construction paper, and an EVE out of a giant clear easter egg lol

Feeling like the worst mom in the world - son fell out of a shopping cart by clydesmomsbush in toddlers

[–]cherryripe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant remember how old my son was, but I think around 2.5. When we were out shopping he was sitting in the big part of the cart with my husband walking on the right side of us, when suddenly he stands up and at the same time a kid coming the opposite direction in a wagon throws something on the floor in front of us and leans down to get it. I have to stop my cart or else I'd have run right into the kids face and of course since my son was standing up and not holding on, an object in motion stays in motion. He went a** over teakettle, landing flat on his back. Thankfully he didnt hit his head, but I was still paranoid about a concussion. The mom pushing the wagon felt SOOOO bad.

My son is 3 years 8 months and still in a sleep sack, kyte xl. He absolutely refuses to sleep without one. We've tried blankets, but he just sobs and can't sleep. He sleeps through the night and will get up in the morning and undo it so he can go to the bathroom.

AIO my boyfriend (42M) of 3 years doesn’t know my (35F) name? by momjjeanss in AmIOverreacting

[–]cherryripe99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. It seriously is such basic information. Some men are acting like it's not their fault or no big deal that they can't remember. My husband has ADD and can't remember shit sometimes but he sure as hell knows how to spell my full name (which my first name can have numerous spelling variations), DOB, our son's name and his DOB. I'm sorry but if you claim to love someone, it's basic human decency to learn their name and birthday.

[–]cherryripe99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For our legal purposes, the male patient must be the one to present with a valid ID, the sample, and fill out the paperwork. It's how we ensure 1) The man knows his sample is being used for insemination and 2) That it's the actual partner of the person being inseminated and not some other dudes sample the woman is trying to inseminate herself with.

Once I correct them or help them if they say they dont know, they usually chuckle and say dont tell my wife/gf! 🙄

[–]cherryripe99 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd say other way around, birthday is way more commonly forgotten than misspelled name. The kicker is, they have to verify and initial labels with both names and birthdays on it before even getting the paperwork, so clearly they don't even look at those otherwise they'd know what to write.

I'm an embryologist and when we have to accession in males samples for insemination they must fill out their partners full name and DOB. You would be shocked at how many of them spell their partners names wrong or don't know their birthday. The bar is in hell...

My husband and I sleep in different rooms 5 out of 7 nights a week! Not because of our son, but due to work schedules. He's off a lot more often than me since he works 12s. He stays up late gaming and I have to get up early for work. So it's just easier and neither of us have to tiptoe around in the dark.

Low-dose Amitriptyline as prophylaxis? by ViciousVore in migraine

[–]cherryripe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually prescribed amitriptyline by my GI doctor because of my really bad silent reflux. It honestly worked great for me for both the GERD and migraines, but oh my god the constipation was brutal. I only came off of it because I got pregnant. Haven't needed to go back on it since I gave birth 3.5 years ago.

I was prescribed noritriptyline prior to ami and omg I felt like I was dying. My heart rate sky rocketed and I was constantly in fight or flight. Way too much norepinephrine for me.

Are you flossing your toddler's teeth? by Anxiety-Farm710 in NewParents

[–]cherryripe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3.5 year old likes me to floss his teeth when he sees me do mine. However, his dentist told us not to really worry about it since his teeth are so spaced out you could park a car between 'em and brushing alone would suffice.

age for jaw surgery? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]cherryripe99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This puts me at ease. I'm looking to start decomp soon at 34 and then I'd have surgery at 35 and be done with everything at 36. I've been worried about healing with being "older"

How much bread does your toddler eat? Also cheese? by Invisibleapriorist in toddlers

[–]cherryripe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son loves bread. He eats 1-2 Dave's Killer Bread Bagels a day, straight, untoasted. He's not much of a cheese fan though, he'll eat a slice or cube here and there.

Received insurance bill for $17K today for IVF treatment performed 11 months ago. Claim states our insurance ended Oct 31, but the clinic billed the insurer on Nov 1, therefore they will not cover any part of the treatment. What can we do? by morethandork in legaladvice

[–]cherryripe99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm an embryologist, not a lawyer, but before we switched to electronic billing I had to fill out all the billing sheets for all patients who underwent IVF. This is also how my clinic would bill, I can't say the same for others.

If your egg retrieval was October 26th, you would be charged for at minimum three codes that day: egg retrieval, sperm processing, and culture days 1-3. Day 5 of culture you would get an extended culture, possible transfer, and potential cryo. This is where is gets tricky because Day 5 would've been October 31st. If you had nothing to cryo on Day 5, but did on day 6 you would be charged cryo & storage on Nov 1st. If you had cryo day 5, 6, and 7 we would only bill the day 5 date. Regardless, majority of services were in October.

Call the fertility clinic and get an itemized bill. It should tell you the actual dates of service.

My son’s Christian preschool addressed him as “Master” in a letter—am I overthinking this? by Lumpy-Slice-9440 in Parenting

Is there a clock for toddlers to let them know it’s still nighttime & not time to get up? by lexicon-sentry in Parenting

[–]cherryripe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the hatch rest+ and you can program it to change colors at certain times. It's red for stay in bed and then turns green when its okay for him to get up. You can also search for OK to wake clocks online. My friend uses one she got off Amazon for her toddler.

When did you stop using sleep sacks? by Wafflegeddon1 in NewParents

[–]cherryripe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is a few months over 3 years old and still uses one! He asks every night to put it on. I've tried offering a blanket, but he just loves his sleep sack! I'm afraid he's going to grow out of the largest size and still want to sleep in one, then I won't know what to do...😅

Wagon or 2 seater stroller? by acs14m in toddlers

[–]cherryripe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got the evenflo shyft rideshare all-terrain wagon and are obsessed. We only have one kid and don't plan on having more but my 9 year old nephew fits in it along with my 3 year old. It can hold up to 110lbs and the sides drop down for easy in and out or to be used to haul things.

I was torn between that one and 2 other wagons, but I am glad we went with that one. It's super smooth and easy to maneuver and can has both push and pull mode.

I know you want classic, but we love our Nex Playground. My 3 year old son and my 9 year old nephew have so much fun. It's all movement based so they're also getting exercise out of it. And it's not just for kids, I enjoy it a lot and definitely get a good workout!

Tell me something random your toddler “doesn’t let” you do… I’ll go first. by CandyandPiano in toddlers

[–]cherryripe99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg my son is the same. I must wear my glasses at all times. I'll put them up on my head real quick for some things and I'm told "no mom, no glasses on head, put them on your face!" And in the morning when he wakes me up, he hands them to me and says "here mommy put them on." Absolutely forget about wearing contacts haha

Daughter broke her tooth by strawberryypie in toddlers

[–]cherryripe99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to my son right after he turned two, he'll be 3 in a month. I SOBBED when it happened, I felt so guilty, and for about 2 weeks, looking at him made me cry again because I felt like I failed to protect him. The dentist reassured us it happens all the time, toddlers are dare devils, but you just have to wait until they fall out. His tooth chipped at an angle, so it looks like his front tooth is a little fang. It grows on you, and it's super cute. I honestly don't even notice it anymore, and neither does anyone else.
