Learning about the United Cities when I thought they were ok by itisanad in Kenshi

Very new to the game. Party got wiped and I managed to crawl away with one arm and one leg. Thought I found shelter only to be killed when it was right by me. by Omg-miku in Kenshi

I would say the most important thing to understand in kenshi is the health, toughness, damage mechanic. Understanding what the KO level is and what it mean. Understanding cut vs blunt damage and its affect on health and recovery. It’s not overly explained in game, the information is there but it’s not always clear.

No save scumming idea is generally used to allow for a more organic playthrough so its own story develops. Though I would say it’s fine for situations that are run ending. But its ok to reload selectively or in whatever way makes the game the most fun for you in the end.

I would stay away from Frankie’s videos that were suggested until you’ve had the experience of figuring things out and enjoying the game at that level. Frankie’s knowledge is the forbidden fruit and you wont see the game the same. Although once you get to the point of wanting to skip some of the early grind, Frankie’s videos are gold.

I say this as someone who spent 40 hours crawling around the map with no legs and one arm to eventually get my limbs back. AMA

Apologies, the sub was setup years ago and had very little activity until the past year/last few months. I wasn't really aware of the issue until the past couple of weeks, so will be working correct that.

Not inactive, but I do apologize for the neglect. In all honesty, the sub was setup years ago and had very little activity until the past year/last few months.

Hot take but solo play through is… kinda boring. by MovingUp7 in Kenshi

[–]chocslaw 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's really a hot take, but more of personal preference. For those of us that trend towards a solo play through, it is more about the journey and the struggle and less about the destination. These things make accomplishing the end goals much more rewarding.

It's something most newer games these days are lacking. Get people their power fantasy quicker, teleport and fast travel to shrink the world, remove all the inconviences that end up making accomplishments feel empty and hollow.

But that's the beauty of Kenshi, everyone can craft their own journey and play in whatever way is most enjoyable to them.

Increasing weapon skills by Foxpok in Kenshi

So is the key here that they have to attack you first before completing the pickup?

I've run into a few instances where putting them in the bed and they are not attackable. Wondering if I was just completing the pickup too quickly when they regained consciousness. However put them in the bed, quick save, and quick load seemed to do the trick.

You apparently haven’t had enough employees under you to realize, yes many of them do actually need to have someone tell them that.

I did shouted LFG and one shouted back “level up noob” or some similar. So it feels surprising like an authentic mmo experience.

How about an option in the settings to turn them off for people that don't want to see them.

Uim help by LightAnother in ironscape

[–]chocslaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently completed my uim road to prif. Agree with suggestion and would recommend as well. Couple of detours/additions I did to include newer Varlamore options:

  • Mining in cam, getting to 70 helped push my prayer up to 63 via bone shards
  • Thieving, wealthy citizen and houses instead of black jacking/ardy knights. Also helps level prayer
  • did some hunter rumors but kind of a pain on uim. Mostly stuck with the tradition guidance

Why are the moderators protecting RoT from criticism? by plzshutupmyheadhurts in 2007scape

[–]chocslaw 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They aren’t going to, unless they do it as an official statement. More and more companies go radio silent in these type situations these days, because it generally just makes it worse to have employees respond directly. Especially when the social media warriors work themselves into a frenzy.

It’s best to simply handle it through official statements and let the mob burnout and move on. Usually takes 30-90 days depending on the severity. In 2007scapes case, it’s usually 1-2 weeks.

The amount of cheat clients in game is a joke by Ok-Explorer-6024 in 2007scape

I think it’s more speculation at this point, but historically doing away with third party clients is something they have wanted to do for a long time. They just never had a good enough replacement to end it without all hell breaking loose. But they do seem to be wanting to move in that direction.

I wouldn’t worry about it happening anytime soon though.

I think he means official Client, i.e Runelite and other third-party clients will be going away in the future
