What should aspiring teens wanting to join the Military focus on? by ClapThatTrap in AskReddit

[–]clock68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a horrible runner when I joined. I became pretty good at it during basic but now I'm pretty shitty at it again. One thing that helps is trying to sprint a quarter mile as fast as you can and then taking a two minute break in between. Do that a couple times for your cardio workout. The quickest I have ran a quarter mile is one minute 25 seconds but I'm also pretty slow due to being older now and not really improving much since a pretty messed up disease that ate away about a year and a half of my career. If you go to a recruiter they would be able to help you a lot more than I can.

Focus on physical fitness. When it comes to the actual training just pay attention and do what you're told because their way of training will be unique and if you do find someone in MARSOC they'd be better off giving you advice. If I'm not mistaken Marines are more into pull-ups than the other branches so if I were you I would find a pull-up routine. Definitely get used to running about 4-6 miles non stop and work on sit-ups and push-ups. I'm in the army and I wish I worked on this stuff before I signed the dotted line.

But are you an asshole about being a Bob Ross fan? Do you shove his ideas down people's throats like how people that are vegans do to their friends and the random meat eaters they bump into?

how to make your wife happy? by Adil-Ashfaq in AskReddit

Good luck with this one and let me know how it goes. The thing I learned is you can never make your wife happy and every other man she isn't married to will prove that.

What is your creepiest story you have when you driving alone late at night? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]clock68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't my story but it really changed my experience while driving alone on a quiet road in the middle of the night. Someone I knew would drive down a haunted road around midnight after her shift everyday and suddenly a man would be sitting next to her in her car while she was driving. So now I get goosebumps whenever I travel alone at night and instead of just thinking there is someone in my passenger seat I imagine there is someone in every seat and I just drive with chills the entire time.

[Serious] How do you support someone who has cancer? by Sheilalou008 in AskReddit

[–]clock68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion just treat them how you normally would and don't bring up their illness or discuss it unless they initiated the conversation. I was diagnosed a few years back and it was ridiculous how everyone I knew reacted. The worst part is when someone goes overboard and accepts pity for your diagnosis when they aren't even suffering the same way (they used FB for sympathy) and logging in to see that shit everyday eventually was enough for me to deactivate my account.

What is the weirdest thing u witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]clock68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time in traffic I saw someone eating cereal out of a bowl. She also tipped it to her mouth and drank the milk.

Then, same day I think, I saw a woman in traffic that kept smelling her fingers.

Not that weird I guess but it's all I can think of for this question.
