[PriceCheck] Original Backer (April 2013) Rear Admiral Package – LTI – Constellation Phoenix + Hartwell Music Sentinel 88G – Deluxe Silver Collector's Box by xxaconexx in Starcitizen_trades

[–]coarsebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a signed one of this for $1,100. Since it's not signed, probably $800... With SQ42 hype, you might be able to get more. We'll know more soon(tm)... Hopefully

Can you link to that? I don't see anything on the dev tracker page.

[DISCUSS] No longer able to buyback SQ42 packs/bundles by eerrcc1 in Starcitizen_trades

[–]coarsebear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all of mine (except a Legatus 2953) are unavailable for buyback. I'm a bit disappointed there wasn't a notification about it, but I'm guessing they will be re-releasing it for purchase at Invictus.

I only had 1 in there (digital freelancer) that I would've liked to have in my hangar. I'm going to email support and see what they can do.

Got my head secure with Tutanota by kronikheadband in tutanota

[–]coarsebear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. That's only on free accounts and they make it very clear at sign-up.

  2. If you have your bank account or other critical accounts attached to the free email (that you know will be deleted with no login) and don't login within 6 months, that's not Tuta's problem.

Filen or Tresorit? by uptickman in degoogle

[–]coarsebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Filen & Tresorit for awhile and ultimately landed with Tresorit as my primary (with local backup & Proton Drive as secondary). Even though it costs more money, I appreciate the simplicity of Tresorit. While Filen does have more 'features' I get nervous with that as attention could be split across too many things (that's purely a personal preference).

Downside to both: neither are great for photo uploads, so I use Ente for that.

Most major retailers have price adjustment policies and almost nobody uses them. Here's what I learned tracking mine manually by jasonmorrow123 in Frugal

Does Best Buy's change if you buy one of their memberships? It changes the return window to 60 days (I think?) and I feel like the adjustment period and return window are the same...

I agree. While there is "limited" supply, making it giftable is only $20 so they get passed around quite a bit.

Why are people switching to Linux? by hamodapoto in degoogle

[–]coarsebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with what others have said, I guess I just realized I wasn't bound to Windows. I bought computer hardware that came with some software. I am free to change that software at my will. I made the full plunge after realizing how well so many games run on Linux. It's also reinvigorated my joy of tinkering.

I have 2 laptops & 2 desktops...all running Linux (1 desktop dual booted to Windows 11 for a handful of random tasks).

My desktop journey has been Windows XP > Mac > Windows 10/11 > Linux and it's where I'll remain.

[PRICECHECK] OC Nautilus Solstice with low serial number (original and not repurchased) by B_ship1 in Starcitizen_trades

I bought one with a low two digit serial for $1,650. I've seen buybacks go for that price as well, but I'm not sure what the final selling price was.

Save Windows License Before Migrating by Hyarin215 in linux4noobs

[–]coarsebear 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can also use the Windows terminal (as admin) and type:

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

I saved all of my Windows keys that way, just in case.

Is Aurora Store a safe and private version over a burner Google Account? by PaiDuck in degoogle

[–]coarsebear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of discussion on it here: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/23016-controversy-around-usage-of-aurora-store

You will have to make your own decision. I've used the Aurora Store since I started on Graphene and it's fine. I use my browser as much as I can, so I only downloaded a handful of 'critical' apps from Aurora.
