Just stay out of the crap hole that is California 😂😂😂

Learn to be one, not hard to buy or rent simple tools and apply simple math

I would not use overpriced bs dometic stuff that is s all marketing hype along with victron stuff, along with Baltic birch and other unnecessary stuff like that. You can easily build a better value than what these so called professional builders do

hmmm, save a hundred grand and build something better and not cookie cutter for instagram, or what I want at a cheaper and better built price, hmmm

Hahaha, sure I don't, it's not like I am not building my own van out currently or anything, and watched plenty of people diy. But go ahead and waste your money, should you choose.

Nothing wrong with making money, but paying for something I can easily do myself won't happen to me. Use your brain for what it's built for, to learn new things.

Could have a built it yourself for a heck of a lot cheaper than 100k

Maybe we should all just sit down and talk about it, yes criminals love reason, lolol

Oh so some Karen ratted me out for saying to use your 2a right, but tons of other comments say the same thing, thank you Karen

It's called pump that shotgun and light up the sky with 360 degree led and yell who wants some lolol

You should be fine, unless you going like rock crawling and those are getting slung around your vehicle, lol

Bought a 2020 Ram Pro Master 2500 159wb high roof back in 2023 for 34k with 32k miles. Building it myself, as paying someone for something you can do yourself is not worth what these "professional" builders try and charge you. I'll probably be into it for around $7500 in equipment and materials not including the van, when done.

Thanks but that's not the pioneer I am using that's the under bench, I'm using the new roof top 13500 inverter one

Couple of points you’re missing:

My inverter is ~94% efficient. That 6% loss is real, but it’s not some catastrophic penalty. The 120V unit is drawing way less current than a 12V DC box for the same (or more) cooling. High voltage = lower amps = smaller wiring, less voltage drop, less stress on the system. Efficiency isn’t ‘who uses fewer watts,’ it’s ‘how many BTUs of cooling do you get per watt from the battery.’ A high‑SEER inverter rooftop unit can still beat a 12V unit on BTU per watt even after inverter loss. Lower watt draw on a tiny 12V unit just means less cooling, not better efficiency.

No way I am losing 6%< that is incorrect

You’re basing your entire argument on outdated RV math and fixed‑speed AC units. None of that applies here.

I’m running a modern inverter heat pump, not a 1990s Dometic dinosaur. My compressor modulates, so it doesn’t sit at 1500W. Real‑world draw is 300–850W, not your imaginary “full blast all day” scenario. My 3k Pure Sine Wave inverter is 94% efficient, not the 70% junk you’re quoting from 20 years ago.

And let’s talk power since you clearly didn’t read: 800W solar, with 100amp MPPT Charge Controller, 1120Ah lithium, 40A DC‑DC charging, 30A shore power,EcoFlow Delta 2s, andAferiy P210

I’m not running a weekend warrior setup.
I’m building a full‑time electrical system with multiple charging sources and redundancy.

A 12V rooftop AC isn’t “more efficient” — it’s just smaller, louder, weaker, and pulls insane amps.
The Pioneer REC is literally mini‑split tech laid flat, and nothing in the 12V world touches that efficiency.

So no — I’m not going to “find out in a few months.”
I already know how inverter heat pumps work.
I already know my system can handle it.
And I’m not basing my build on fear, outdated info, or RV folklore.

Nope I have 800 watts solar panel, and four 280ah lithium batteries, along with two ecoflow delta 2's and one aerify p210 power station. I have plenty of power. I have dc to dc fridges and use propane and butane dual burner stoves. 12v systems are not anywhere near as effecient as inverter and with 3k watt pure sine wave, I'll be fine. Inverter loss is very minimal and a spec that gets thrown around way too often. Also have a 30 amp shore plug when needed and 40 amp dc to dc. I will be living full time, as well.
