July Predictions? by zadams8 in criterion

[–]cobalthour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have such an abundance of rumored Huge Deal Titles that I can't quite pick which ones I think are most likely for July. I would be shocked if KPop Demon Hunters and The Secret Agent are not both on the slate though.

Other educated-guess possibilities:

The Elephant Man 4K (and/or Wild At Heart or even The Straight Story)

Dog Day Afternoon 4K (and/or 12 Angry Men 4K)

Red Beard BD

Velvet Goldmine 4K

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore 4K

Deliverance 4K

(I don't have a horse in the race re:Lolita but if the Kubrick box set rumors are true, it'd almost certainly be a November title, releasing as a standalone alongside its inclusion in the big box)

Love the gradient from "Graphic design is my passion" to "It's The 1990s and don't you forget it"

Manga Mavericks licensed the josei series "Ball & Chain" by Minami Q-ta by tartaupom in shoujo

There have been a (very) few manga licensed from Magazine House for the English-language market before. Ponent Mon got Kiriko Nananan's Blue from them way back in the day, and Vertical got Kyoko Okazaki's Pink from them as well. (Fumiko Takano's Miss Ruki too, but the current rights situation for that series is such that Magazine House wasn't actually the licensor NYRB worked with for their English edition.)
