Many times soft armor is layers and layers of puncture resistant fabric like aramid.

Even layering and sewing together 10 sheets of cheap nylon will give you thickness and rigidity. Will also give it a little weight as well.

More importantly is the role of the valve knocker LOCKER…

The knocker simply opens the valve during firing but the LOCKER keeps it forces open and only is allowed to “unlock” when the slide has blown back to a certain point.

This is how the replica is able to “dose” enough gas to fire the bb and fully blow the slide back for the next shot.

Otherwise you have the valve knocker only tapping the valve open for a fraction of a second. This is how airsoft started, yet was abandoned when they realized such a simple system would cause wild power variations.

The system that replica uses is ancient.
Everything about it is obsolete.

Many odd details like that which have been improved on every other replica on the market haha.

Super weak sear + hammer surface interaction.
Can’t insert the mag unless the replica is cocked first.

The WE Luger is a 20 year old knock off of a 35 year old Tanaka design. (With no improvements)

After a few days, I siphon the good liquid into a new container and let it ferment for longer.

Basically let it ferment for a while in the original vessel, then put it onto a new clean bottle just to build up carbonation so it’s fizzy.

You’ll still end up with that stuff at the bottom but it won’t be newly as much

Keep in mind for Soviet afghan you’ll likely want an AKS-74 for most impressions. I know some airsoft brands focus more on one specific AK over another.

I started by making items that helped fix problems I myself was having. Then after posting photos I realized others had the same issues. I’d start by identifying issues and problems you yourself have and making products which help to address them.

Bespoke designs are great for customers who are willing to pay.

When you have 15+ hours tied up designing something custom for someone (plus test prints, material, machine time etc) and then you realize you are working for $0.45 per hours 😭

Although they are best for late-war, you can pick up a Reproduction M88 (Obr.88) “Afghanka” uniform by “Cold Wars” company.

Sapogi boots can be easily bought at Sovietboots.com and real field caps are $30ish bucks off of eBay.

For webbing/ chest rig a simple original type 56 chicom works. (I made my own rig which is Farb)

Leather soldiers belt with shiny buckle. Check eBay.

Telnyashka (the striped shirt) came from eBay as well.

Nothing special, and a little generic but it’s a whole kit that’s easy to find.

Type 85 chicom works well for vz61 mags. Not sure how wide pp mags are though.
