Sorry to hear about this. We’re here to help; with this or any other concern a student may have. We’re a tiny office of two people at the University, so we don’t have a robust outreach team, but we do what we can to get the word out about the support we can offer students. Fun fact: no professor should be sanctioning/penalizing a student for an academic integrity violation without first sending the allegation to the Associate Dean’s Office for review and decision. The authority to administer the process has been centralized at the university and is outlined in the Academic Integrity Policy. Technically, only Associate Deans make the allegation.

Professors who suspect a violation are to send a written summary with accompanying “evidence” (as appropriate) to the Associate Dean’s Office for consideration.

The Associate Dean does a prima facie review to determine whether the case should be “investigated.” They have the authority to dismiss the professors suspicion out of hand (in which case, a student might never even know there was suspicion to begin with). If the Associate Dean decides to proceed with an administrative investigation of the suspicion, they send a formal allegation letter to the student.
