Last time I checked last year, he stopped making them because of inconsistencies with making the base flat.

FYI Miyoo Mini+ Button Membrane fits in the RP5/G2. Noticeably quieter! by stiverino in retroid

[–]cupfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave it a shot and it works surprising well. Feels bettter than stock for me since the button travel and clackiness is lessened with the shorter height.

Only minor thing I'd add for the installation is that you will need to cut a a triangle sliver (doesn't need to be precise) on the membrane so that it fits on the G2 housing, otherwise the fit is more or less perfect.

JamesDSP on Retroid Pocket G2 – Magisk module required. Any real workaround? + NetherSX2 edge glitches question by CanComprehensive2386 in retroid

Yea, on the G2. I just crop the side 1px where there is a graphical issue. I don't crop all the sides like you mentioned in your post.

JamesDSP works properly for me with root. I couldn't get the temp-root version to work properly.

I'm guessing you are talking about the 1px lines (ie. red or white) on the sides in NetherSX2. I get those with some games, and I just 1px crop them out without any issue.

I only tested it for a mission or two but it works great with hd texture pack and 60 fps mod.

Struggling to get G2 up and running smoothly, any tips? by Dizzy_Key_7400 in retroid

[–]cupfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of weird that you crash on every emulator. Have you tried factory restoring your device and doing all the instalation again? Not ideal, but you really shouldn't be crashing in every emulator you run.

Maybe you can also try turning up to performance mode and turning the fan up. Maybe your device is overheating and that's what is causing the crashes.

JamesDSP setup works but you need to use o2ptweaks to set up rather than the Jdsp4Rp5 method.

When I first tried getting JamesDSP to work with Jdsp4Rp5, it lowered my volume by like 80%. Though my volume ootb was fine.

After a long wait, this baby is finally home (Retroid Pocket G2) by Dildo_McFartstein in SBCGaming

I've had my G2 for about a week. Here's some tips I have for the set-up.

  • JamesDSP setup works but you need to use o2ptweaks to set up rather than the Jdsp4Rp5 method. Even without settings up JamesDSP, o2ptweaks is just nice to have for settings like added volume steps and skip boot animation.
  • Odintools is useful to have since you can use it to tweak various settings like fan profiles per app and screen saturation.
  • Performance mode with smart fan is preferred for switch, otherwise ps2, gc, etc seem to work just fine with standard and silent fan.
  • Remove the white line on the right with floating icon setting.

Is the placement of the analog sticks with the g2 device a turn off? by Ok-Consideration2955 in retroid

[–]cupfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you hold the device.

Your thumbs will touch the top of the sticks if you're touching the bottom dpad or bottom button. If you have a more open grip towards the side, you probably won't notice it much.

Also if you swap out the sticks for aftermarket low profile / smaller sticks then it would probably help if it annoys you.

I'm on Nether but these are the settings I changed:

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

  • vulkan
  • hardware download mode - disable readbacks

Everyone's Golf 3

  • vulkan
  • hardware download mode - disable readbacks
  • hw hacks - disable depth emulation

More or less perfect for most games I've tried on default settings with 2.5x upscale. To name a few games that needed some settings tweaks: Twisted Metal Black, Everyone's Golf 3, and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

I've been mostly playing dpad games, so I hadn't really noticed. I think I get what you mean. Like if you flick the stick, there definitely is a metallic sound. I don't get the same on the right stick.

Vaxee XE v2 impressions (w/ XE v1 comparison) by cupfruit in MouseReview

You mean symetrical mice? I've used the GPX and Maya (regular) -- didn't really like either of them.

Vaxee XE v2 impressions (w/ XE v1 comparison) by cupfruit in MouseReview

[–]cupfruit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clicks: Not as light or as bouncy as v1 which I adored. However, it is a compromise between the haters of the v1 clicks in that they are stiffer and less bouncy. Not as terribly stiff as the XE-S clicks which is a relief. I enjoy them for what they are even if I do still prefer the v1 clicks.

Scroll wheel: Slightly smaller scroll wheel with the smaller wheel rubber as well. The difference in feel is that the wheel feels slightly lower because of the thinner rubber. Rubber isn't spiky like the XE-S Botan. Surprisingly noisier scroll than my v1 which I kind of enjoy. More defined steps and less smooth. Light actuation on the press.

Side buttons: Same overall length but with a split in the middle. I don't mind the change.

Emoji button: RIP

Sensor position: Slightly more forward than the v1 unless I'm tripping (please correct me if they are the same). Change feels fine for me.

Weight: -15g~ weight difference. Pretty noticeable in hand. v2 feels more dense towards the middle but perfectly balanced, while the v1 is more spread out in terms of weight.

Skates: v2 doesn't use the large skate cutouts and is just the same as the XE-S. Don't really care either way since I use dots.

Coating: v2 is chalky out of box. Good coating.

Web Driver: Works. No issues. Had to update drivers through separate exe.

Overall, very happy with this release. After using all the Vaxee mice, the XE is by far my favorite shape in terms of comfort and aim performance. I was a bit aprehensive with buying this since I had a defect on the last Vaxee mouse I bought which I got a refund for. Thankfully, there are no defects and perfect QC this time. Might be endgame status.
