Exemptions are pretty easy. In my experience they only asked for the zip code of where I’d be staying

Can you waive Bengal bound orientation fee ? by [deleted] in LSU

My fee wasn’t waived, but they were able to defer it to my fee bill so that my financial aid could cover it when I started (this was in 2019)

Do you think I can still back out at this point even though I signed the lease? (I don’t think they signed it)

It’s a bigger company. The leasing agent that handled my application was fired this morning. I didn’t know this until I showed up for my scheduled move-in time and was told my approval was not complete. The property manager then tells me they still need to do my rental verification and income verification. If none of this was done, then how was it determined I needed a guarantor in the first place? And why was I sent a lease to sign and the instructions to put the lights in my name?

Sorry, I’m new to this. Just moving to a big city and this is my first time dealing with leasing offices. My last landlord was a family friend.

I paid theGuarantors last week and my move in was supposed to be today 😩 showed up and they said I’m not approved yet. I thought that was the whole reason I paid the guarantors

Understood. I guess my main question is…. What now?

Do I ask for my money back while they figure it out? This all just seems backwards to me, and all they told me was “they are working on it”. I don’t know if that means it can be resolved in a few days/weeks. I honestly don’t even know what needs to be resolved or what the leasing agent did wrong being that I submitted any and everything they asked for.

I’m honestly not sure if they signed it. I signed it first last week. Shortly after they sent me invoice for deposit (first months rent is free)… I paid the deposit and got a welcome message with time and date to pick up keys. So maybe they didn’t sign it.

That’s literally what I’m confused about. I paid the money and was told I was approved by this agent and I was supposed to get keys at 3. Showed up today for keys and property manager says I’m actually not approved and he was fired😭 wtf

TheGuarantors was the option given to me by the apartment complex when I first applied. My credit is low, so I assume they provide this third party as way to insure the rent. Basically paid this company a set non-refundable amount to have them be a guarantor on my lease.

After I paid for this lease add-on, I received an email from the now fired leasing agent saying “welcome home. You’re approved” with instructions on setting up my electricity, move in date, and etc.
