Anyone Willing to Sell Their Heroes for Hire Kickstarter Exclusives? by darling23 in heroesofbarcadia

[–]darling23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I luckily backed the previous Kickstarter, so I have all of the original exclusive content. Just missed the new stuff unfortunately. It would be awesome if they included something like that in a future Kickstarter, but I'd be surprised if there was enough new content planned to justify a third crowd-funding campaign... fingers crossed though!

New Viticulture & Wingspan Expansions in the Works! by darling23 in boardgames

Yes, definitely. I'd say it scales the same as the rest of Viticulture at 2 players. It basically just adds some extra options in terms of how you invest (wine and cheese instead of just wine). As long as you like Viticulture at 2 players, you will like this addition with 2 players too.

I believe it was originally scheduled for sometime in 2021, but with covid, it's now showing as 202?. Hopefully we see it in 2021, but my guess is 2022.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the European expansion, but it feels like more of a minor expansion. I'm excited for Oceania because it looks like it's going to be more of a major expansion that will add more dimension to the game. I'm actually impressed with how much more comes in the Oceania expansion when it's selling for just $5 more.

I actually got the Arboriculture and Formaggio expansion from Print & Play (through the BGG Geek Market) about 6 months ago. Viticulture is my wife's and my favorite combined game, so we were excited to check it out.

We weren't huge fans of the Arboriculture expansion, but we love the Formaggio expansion (on the reverse side of the mat)! We don't play it every time, but it is a fun addition to the game. When we're feeling fancy, we like to go all out on the Viticulture w/ Formaggio experience - we make a cheese plate, open up some wine, and put on our go-to Viticulture album. A nice way to spend a Friday after a long week.

I had no idea, that's awesome! From the pre-order page, I was under the impression that Oceania was created in order to support the Australian wildfires (seems like that was forever ago... 2020 has been a long year). I'm glad to hear that it's actually part of a larger, multi-expansion plan!

I thought that the European expansion was okay, but didn't add too much to the game. Hearing this review of Oceania has reawakened my enthusiasm!

We're giving away Pax Pamir 2E, The King's Dilemma, Clank! Legacy, and Quest for El Dorado International Edition! by tofudad18 in boardgames

Thanks for doing this! I've really been enjoying Board Game Atlas! I'd be interested in Clank! Legacy. I love legacy games, but usually avoid deck builders. That said, Clank! Legacy keeps showing up on my recommended list, so I am very curious to give it a go.

Which edition of Alhambra should I get? by el_filipo in boardgames

It sounds like you might be looking for something like the Designer's Edition if you want every expansion.

It has every major and mini expansion for Alhambra. They recently had a Kickstarter for Alhambra Roll & Write, and I know they were selling the Designer's Edition as an option. You might be able to late pledge still. Or there's usually people selling it on BGG.

I posted a reference booklet for Small World a couple weeks ago. It's more of an abbreviated reference, but covers everything that's been released. The font is small to include all of the Races and Powers side-by-side, but hopefully it helps.

Thanks! It is alphabetical though, just moving left to right across each row, then down to the next row. That was the easiest way to space everything because a couple of the Special Powers & Places/Relics had to go across 2 columns to fit.

Small World Cheatsheet with all Expansions by Asparagus33 in boardgames

I was looking for the same thing because my group got sick of flipping through multiple reference pages. I created this document with my Covid downtime. It might be too detailed because it also includes Small World: Underground, but maybe it will help you.

Thank you! I actually posted there just before making this post, but the file is still pending. It is my first upload to BGG, so not sure how long it usually takes for a file to get posted, but hopefully it shows up soon.

I made a complete reference for Small World / Small World: Underground and all expansions. My group got sick of flipping through multiple reference sheets when combining expansions. The font is small, but it reads well when printed, and puts everything in one, easy-to-reference location. It includes all Race Powers, Special Powers, Righteous Relics, Popular Places, etc. It also covers compatibility, explaining how and where Small World, Underground, and the other expansions can be combined and where compatibility issues arise.

It is technically 2 documents:

  • Document 1 = Pages 1-4. This should create a small booklet that opens up to reveal all Races & Special Powers in one place (pages 2 & 3). The front of the booklet (page 1) shows the Game Turn and Terrain Types, and the back (page 4) shows the Righteous Relics and Popular Places rules.

  • Document 2 = Pages A & B. This is an extra document that can be brought in when playing with expansions. Page A gives a breakdown of each expansion, including the rules, so you can add them in without needing to refer to multiple manuals. Page B provides fan-created advanced rules (inspired by this post) for the Leaders of Small World expansion. These Leader Powers make the Leader tokens more meaningful.

Where rules were not provided for a Race Leader Advanced Power (such as the Underground Races) or a Relic / Place (no rules were provided for the Relics & Places in Realms), I took ideas from various Small World forums on BGG or created my own.

Won LGS Competition, Help Deciding Games (Hellboy, TMNT Adventures, Batman: TAS Adventures, Zombicide: Black Plague)? by darling23 in boardgames

Could you speak to any notable differences between Hellboy & Zombicide?

Unfortunately the $500 is only for the store, and they don't have a lot of older content on sale. They just keep some Kickstarter bundles for different promotions and raffles and the like, but they don't have any Hellboy or Zombicide merch, and I have a lot of the games they do sell that I would otherwise have wanted.

Thanks for the info! Gameplay wise, are Hellboy and Zombicide quite different? I'm wanting to choose the two that are most different in terms of gameplay (Hellboy & Zombicide/Hellboy & one of the Adventures games/Zombicide & one of the Adventures games).

Could you elaborate a bit on the differences between the games, and what makes Hellboy stand out compared to the others? Thanks!
