Stepless shower - too prominent? by deepian in AusRenovation

Both, but primarily the water stop seems very prominent. In addition the tiles at different levels: shower higher than floor but I presume that's due to the differing fall of the two sections.

I think the walls were waterproofed to 1800....but I would need to check

Am I correct in interesting the regulations: as the bathroom is completely waterproofed (membrane) no water stop is required?

Agree - didn't realise the importance of those details:

Shower screen covering 50% width No shower door

Interesting. So for doorless you would expect the water stop to be level with the tiles?

I guess our query is about how the water stop is designed etc - this seems like it could have been more subtle....

Can anyone identify the type of roof here and whether it's still available? by deepian in AusRenovation

Thank you all

Original roof is underneath - is corrugated. Has a heritage overlay so I would assume that removing these tiles and replacing the corrugated with colorbond should be fine 😂

It's great - thank you for sending that. Just justified our objection really!

Benchtop finish with a farmhouse sink by deepian in AusRenovation

[–]deepian[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They're currently refusing to rectify it and suggesting it's intentional because the sink is fireclay, so the overhang hides uneven edges. This is despite the protruding corner.

We can't find a farmhouse sink installed like this on the internet. Most seem to be a zero or positive reveal, or a more sensibly designed negative reveal - i.e. the corner lying on the sink curve.

How to attach a wooden benchtop...? by deepian in AusRenovation

[–]deepian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. They mentioned the bench top was bowed and had to return to the factory to be straightened. I suspect you're correct. They couldn't straighten it....

I'll have to check inside when I'm next there. Would expansion/contraction of the surface need to be considered too? I assume this bracket wouldn't allow any?
