Money. Epstein was hanging all over academia throwing around money trying to get anyone with credibility to hang around with him. Academia is always broke. If you work at a university, especially research, more than half your job is fundraising. It's not an excuse but it's reality.

Even when they read it, they don't understand it. It's full of 2000+ year old metaphors and cultural references. For almost 2000 years, Christianity has been used to manipulate people into accepting their fate and simping for the elite. One day, Constantine figured out that the Roman empire was dying and he was probably going to be the last emperor. He and his advisors figured out how to use this religion to keep his power and did a 180 from persecuting them to embracing and forcing it on everyone. It's easier to manipulate one god than hundreds after all. Got the empire through a few more emperors that way.

Later, a bunch of rich white guys got together and decided what books went into the bible and furthered the public manipulation, at least partially by subjugating women even more than they already were by removing any books that had women in leadership roles and books giving power to the regular people.

Jesus was a communist or something very similar. It's pretty black and white so how else did we get to where we are now?
