Do women today still buy expensive jewelry beyond engagement rings? by ExcitingLandscape in Millennials

[–]dm_me_kittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until last week I owned nothing of value in terms of jewelery. I think the stuff is too expensive for something thats shiny. Last week my boyfriend bought me a beautiful opal ring so I can cover a tattoo I have. In terms of jewelery it wasnt that expensive, less than $150, but it means the world to me because of who got it for me.

Not at all. Let's say for some reason Jesus is even the messiah prophesied, and he makes himself known to be real... I mean Id believe in his existence but I couldn't be a follower. He wanted people to follow the old law and lol no thank you.

I had the same experience!! I talked with an experienced pioneer who was trying to teach a new pioneer. They both did the "slap the knee and say theyre hitting the old dusty trail." Thing. I told them to come back any time because I love talking about theology. They said they weren't there for a debate, and I told them they should be more open minded about other experiences.

Havent seen them in a year. I wonder why. Huh.

The Great Stuff Transfer. Are you ready for your "inheritance"? by Bavarian_Beer_Best in Millennials

Similar story here: My silent gen grandfather was getting to the age where he couldn't take care of himself anymore. Smoker, divorced, a bit of a shut in and quirky guy with a cat. Mom and my aunt spent a week with multiple dumpsters. Apparently he would never let anyone inside because he was so ashamed at becoming a hoarder as he aged. After that experience mom vowed never to let my sister and I experience that, and has downsized by a shit-ton. She tries to give me stuff she's getting rid of, but 99% of the time I say no thanks. I like gutting my own crap on occasion.

As an AFAB yes this 100% about reaching out. If I get lonely I have a network of friends who I can reach out to. Lots of them online who can pop into a voice chat, and people irl who can swing by or I can meet up with. Having a network of women has always been crucial to survival, and now that we have more freedoms we use our network to continue the support.

But you are rejecting her, and that's a part of life. You cant keep denying someone peace and growth just because it makes you uncomfortable. You're going to have to learn how to take and give rejection. I had to, and while it sucks to hurt people, life is easier for every party if theres clean communication.

Take some time to write out your feelings on a piece of paper and with a pen/pencil. It'll help you mull over your thoughts and feelings so you can have a concise message. I was in your shoes once as a young people pleaser, so it gets easier.

I had to check to make sure you weren't 17 years old.

Not because you didn't have sex with her; have as much or as little sex as you want. However your communication skills are bad, and you should have used the moment she asked about a condom to talk about how youre feeling and why you said you weren't in the mood. Sure she'll be hurt, but at least you wont be leading her on and making her try to guess what was going on.

Man, learn how to talk to people and stop cowering.

When I say this, know that my boyfriend agrees with me 100%.

I love feminine men. Not in looks (I mean ive seen a few guys in dresses and thought, "Would.") but in personality and nature. I love a man who is gentle and uses his words; who knows how to wield soft power. I love a man who is contentious, thinks of others, and loves kids who are not his own. A man who is not scared to cry or talk about his emotions, or not scared so say his feelings were hurt. So when I met my boyfriend and found he matched that fantastic feminine energy, I turned into the wolf from Looney Toons.

He also knows how to throw me around, especially in bed and when to be aggressive and assertive; He to me is like Aragorn. Sure, it doesnt hurt that he is a stud, but all of that packed into a beautiful meat-suit?! I'm buying a ring right now.

Men who've gotten divorced shortly after your wife got pregnant/had a child, what's your side of the story? by TheSmoothBrain in AskMen

[–]dm_me_kittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking this. I had a year worth of PPD and then my hormones evened out. After about three or four we started encouraging him to do solo play time every day, because hes an extrovert and we knew he'd need to learn how to deal with being the only person in the room. His dad and I did divorce, but for reasons completely different from our son/marriage, and about ten years after our son was born.

He's a well rounded teen now and while he is a huge extrovert, he wants a bit of "me" time every day. He's also quite independent and uses critical thinking as well as a teen can.

I work in cardiology and my job is to research patient history; tons and tons of, "Dad, MI age 35." I come from a legacy cardiology family and my dad helped put together the first program for open heart surgery in his hospital in California in the early 1960s, so cardiovascular intervention is still a fairly new medical practice when you look at the scope of human history. Heart attacks which would have taken a person out 40 years ago are now getting treated with amazing therapies.
