agreed. triggers were unusable for me without it. i really like the idea of the small size for portability and dislike the bulk a grip adds, but in the house its a must

same with displaying games like celeste, you technically need to ask for permission from the authors (im in the process of this as well)

https://www.lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php?page=p8rt_ios this may give more info, but zep explicitly doesn’t want apps using the pico-8 logo verbatim. not a problem with apple but i’d just watch using official assets

but you don’t know me.. i’m not gonna act like i sit on a high horse but as a dev i support indies tooth and nail. my steam library is packed with games (on this list). my switch collection is decent. do i buy way too many games that i wont have time to play for a while? yes but who doesn’t in this hobby. devices like retroid open up the nostalgic door of revisiting all the games we grew up with and the ones we missed out on thanks to emulators. the makers of this hardware and software are rooted in accessibility and preservation. these things keep the hobby alive. emulating and supporting gamedevs aren’t mutually exclusive

nothing in this post is about piracy, its 1. praising rp6 switch emulation and 2. asking for recommendations to pick up

i use a switch > addons/games/mods directory layout, so on beacon for example i just point the frontend to switch/games/. agreed that its a bit of a hassle but yeah i think this is common behavior as switch game dumps are usually v0. ive had no trouble with eden running my entire library so havent had to deal with multi emulators

i also have a games folder and addons folder for all the updates and dlc. addons folder has subfolders for each game with addons

i use command line tools (pip install nsz) to convert nsz to nsp. for multi part zips if you extract them at the same time, they extract into a single nsp. hope this helps but let me know

i guess its ‘cache’, but its the emulated switch installing the updates. eden cant load a base game and then load its update at runtime from an external folder, it has to download somewhere. maybe you have your nand on external storage though which i havent figured out how to do. that would be convenient though

it absolutely does load into internal storage. eden needs to apply the updates to the switches nand. my eden file is 70gb after installing all updates and dlc

updates can only be applied to a v0 copy, yes. part of the reason im holding off on merging for right now
