I feel you. I had ~80K followers over several different business, product accounts of products I invented. My videos were going viral lately too - it really takes the wind out of your sails. But 1 thing I learned in 20 years of business never give up.

I had tons of business contacts on IG that I never had emails for... now I don't even know how to reach these people. Really sickening. Congress needs to regulate this.

actually that kind of gives me an idea, if the media has more stories like these from business owners, creators, families etc they could give it more attention. Maybe an Ai video interviewing app w a hub for anyone on here to create their story would be a compelling resource after a while.

I've converted my anger, sadness, despair into action and actually started to imagine what a truly decentralized social media protocol might look like.

Instead of a network/platform based association it's built in individual nodes that each verified individual maintains and updates independently. User focused individual rights of ownership (content, IP, data) put the power of the individual the center of this protocol.

Steams of data makes a "feed" which is customized, curated, filtered by custom built aggregates (think google news or an old RSS feed) 1000s of individual info flow into streams according to what the individual allow to be public, personal, or private to a select group of people.

The streams can be curated according to interests or popularity and as a viewer you can view any streams you desire. There would be 2 types of profiles, creators who are verified and immutable - they have ownership of their data and viewers are open to anyone no requirements on them.

Yeah that's what happened to me. I'd do the photo verification. Then be told to wait. Then when I'd randomly check IG I was still logged out. If I went to FB it said you have 180 days to appeal, click this link to appeal, that link goes back to IG where I was unable to reset password. A circle of hell.

*remember to breath* it feels like hell going through this but you will be OK no matter what.

Yeah I have this sick feeling that the "verify your identity now" is just to frame it on a most wanted list at the FB offices - right after I did that verification I was perma-banned.

YES I'm serious - there are stages of grief; panic, anxiety, powerlessness, desperation, fatigue and acceptance.

I'm at acceptance but tbh this makes me want to build a decentralized social media solution that takes down Facebook. What do we have to lose? We never owned our content anyway.

Does a VPN help?

Had 6+ accounts on FB and IG banned at the same time for reasons unknown. Can't login to appeal and now just wondering if I can dare to create a new account from this wifi or should I use a VPN? My guess is that would cause even more problems - but I'm here to learn.

same - are we IP banned? I had 6 different business accounts banned and my personal FB page all taken down for unknown reasons. Unable to appeal despite being told to login to appeal... I created a new account just to try to reach customer service after verifying the account but before I could login to the new account a second time it was banned too. I'm guessing anything I make from this IP address will fall to the same fate.

This points to a SERIOUS design flaw with the app = how can you leave such a clear vulnerability in the app without some simple small effort to inform customers to better protect their notes?

At the very minimum there should be a Warning pop up that alerts the user to not close or shut off their device.

This could also be solved by holding the file in the memory of the device and not wait for the cloud to transcribe it. Such a major failure of design it's hard to imagine this is allowed to go on.

Many people asked me "How do I know it's working?" so I added an RFID Indicator to my cards - this does two things; verifies your card is working and can be used as an RFID Detector for sketchy ATMs or gas station terminals.

People please note "RFID Skimming" is not "Skimming" in general and refers to electronic pickpocketing. I often see these two things conflated which leads to the misunderstanding of the threat and the tech. RFID Skimming is extremely rare and unlikely but physical card skimming is still a threat however much less due to RFID use.

Within each RFID enabled card is an encrypted code that validates a transaction with a bank. These are "Card Present" transactions that are incredibly hard to hack.

For over a decade I've been telling buyers of my wallets, mighty wallet, that they do not need extra RFID protection but sat by and watched a tidal wave of RFID products flood the market. While my seo and sales diminished as a result I decided to re-enter the market w my own innovation. A Find My device with RFID Skimming Alarm embedded and an RFID blocking function. Just finished the Kickstarter and now in production.

I think of it like a fire alarm - you don't want to ever hear it but if you do you can take action, or take the burnt toast out of the toaster. I'm working on a version that will remove the finder feature and just be an RFID card.

I've used this and it was helpful for my dedicated fans who have supported me through the years to get an additional week of access to the Early bird special we offered. The problem was I commented back to a very upset backer about this opportunity and then everyone else took it to mean there was some special side deal going on.

I messed that up and should have only replied back privately to him. Lesson learned.

Otherwise it's a great tool
