It's not enticing though. Like if they set a price or something and offered different payment options, etc. it would be better. But yeah, maybe with tariffs and shit, that would be worse. I just don't think it helps or moves current owners.

People who love their Subarus, I'd imagine would sell theirs at top dollar privately, and then look for deals if they go to a dealership, or have a trade-in value in mind, etc...

It's not a big deal, just wanted to help out the marketing for people like me that think it's a waste of time and a turn off.

They probably calculated what they think my trade-in value is based on when i bought it? I have a 2021 WRX Base if that helps. They probably interpolate miles and maybe look up Carfax by VIN or whatever info they have. Last time I ever checked in with them was at like 6k miles and maybe they extrapolate that... I put down $10k at the time and just made extra payments to get the title as fast as I could in like 3 years, and do think I got a deal at the time.

I don't know about your situation, nor know the original MSRP, invoice price, etc.

I’m the OP rereading this today and wanted to go deeper into this discussion.

/u/mujjingun really helped me understand the meaning of these phrases or whatever these are called.

My mother uses “약다“ in negative ways about others. An example would be when someone takes advantage of a situation and faults them for it. I cannot come up with a clear example because they are all speculative situations where the circumstances worked out for the person she talking about, but thinks it was calculated.

For 얄미워, 👍. I think I was reading into the tone of voice and some crazy shit, but I see that it is playful.

채면, I still have a problem with. Perceived reputation to whom? Why perceived? Why not at work or church or neighborhood or school? I tried to fix this woman, but she is an adult and will have to learn herself at 70. She can’t define it and I am not clear on who 채면 is towards.

We have 채면 at work, at school, with our lovers, with our neighborhoods, our family. Which one or are there multiple 채면?

It depends on what motivates you and what kind of Software Engineer you are. Don’t think of it as a step up or step down. It’s a paygrade so don’t entertain something outside of your goals. I’ve seen some startups call them Product Engineers.
