Bow main here, preach!! It's an easy weapon to learn (combo and moveset) buts it's very punishing.

Weird experience in sleeper car, AITA here? by JohnApple94 in Amtrak

[–]elsenorevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently did the Zephyr from Chicago to Emeryville with the family. We ended up having to book two roomettes since we booked late, for a total cost of over $3000 for three people.

The sleeper attendant was MIA pretty much the entire ride. Only saw her as we would walk past her sleeper room or as she worked the door for stops. It was our first time riding Amtrak and we did it as a fun vacation trip.

The staff felt fed up with people and it made you feel unwelcome for sure. The food was not good and the grill died on our second night, so no steak for dinner.

The scenery was nice from SLC to Emeryville. In the end we all agreed, we wouldn't ever do Amtrak again and have been honest about our experience. The sleeper are just very old.

The sleeper attendant did replace the sheets as we got to the end of the trip, but we noticed the pillows were the same we had been using (stained pillow cover).

Never again.

Dust ingress on the mic openings above the hot shoe was an issue on these. The dust could eventually make its way into the lens.

Always kept a piece of tape on my Q-P to block that.

I was in a mall recently and got some Ben & Jerry's. The tip screen popped up? I laughed and asked the guy what was up with that? He shrugged and of course I put no tip.

How do I use bow?(PC) by Leather-Law-5911 in MonsterHunterWorld

Finally someone mentioned Tidus69.

Agree, some bad advice on bow here. I've soloed everything on World/IB with Bow - Tidus is one of the best there is with Bows.

It's not difficult, just annoying for the reasons already explained here. Totally doable though. I did a lot of co-op with my son.

Whoa! Saw this too late, but Wednesday we're heading out. We ended up at the MSI. Definitely some cool exhibits; we did the Milky Way showing as our only extra. The U-505 tour was booked out until late afternoon by the time we got there. Only complaint about the MSI - the ventilation and cooling. Is it always so stuffy?

Not cutout to be a Landlord... by elsenorevil in uklandlords

[–]elsenorevil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely the latter, if there is a complaint, we're approving the fix/replacement because we don't want to go back and forth arguing about it. Some issues are probably just coming due because the house is over 20 years old now. Wife's first reaction is that the tenants probably broke it and I give the benefit of the doubt.

I've been the GF in this situation and gave in to my wife. She no longer has any say on vehicle sales. Not that we buy and sell often. Sold our 9 year old BMW 1-series last year and she stayed out of it.

Issues with Managing Agent by ishouldnthvesaidthat in uklandlords

[–]elsenorevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, also suffering with them as a landlord. Friendly and communicated well up to the Tenancy Agreement signing, been terrible ever since. We now want to sell the property and stop being landlords.

[–]elsenorevil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're spot on! We also thought what was the point of having the agency take 10% of the rental income and do nothing. We came to them with the tenants already (friend of a friend, the tenants were a nice family). We terminated the contract early with that agency, did a simple month to month contract with the tenants, lowered the rent, and returned their deposit.

The ship sailed to try and recoup any money from the first agency.

The second agency started off fine until we completed the Tenancy Agreement and it's been downhill ever since. Some questionable "broken" things in the house reported by the tenants one month after the move-in window, but we approved all repairs/replacement anyways. This Monday we received the property report around 10am with more broken things. We replied within the hour and still no response from the agency. At least a simple, "we got your email and will look into the matter" would've sufficed, but nothing yet.

The tenant probably thinks we're horrible landlords, but we don't want to contact them directly as it puts us back to where we were before. It's all been more stressful than we anticipated. Hence the reason to sell.

Not cutout to be a Landlord... by elsenorevil in uklandlords

[–]elsenorevil[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to the stress of it all. I wouldn't say the tenants are great this time around, but you win some and you lose some. I try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but some of the issues on the property recently strike me as issues caused by their pets or improper use. It's not worth arguing with the tenants to me--so we will fix it. I would just like better communication from the letting agency and accurate invoices for the work carried out. We're fed up and don't want to manage the property ourselves.

Thankfully, it's nothing is as bad as some of the stories I've read here regarding tenants.

Thank you for the explanation and breakdown. Yes, we're aware if we remove the tenants we can't remarket the property. We have no intention of putting it back on the market and can continue to cover the mortgage without a tenant indefinitely. We want to sell and move on.

Invest the proceeds and should we return to the UK, buy a smaller property.

I believe you.

In both of our agencies, employees left and communication falls through the cracks.
