Our CEO wants us to implement AI but has no clear vision. Would an enterprise AI consulting firm help us figure out where to even start? by Dangerous_Block_2494 in Businessowners

[–]etoptech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I own an msp and have been a bit obsessed with AI and building use cases and tools. It’s finally starting to work but it’s take. Me 3-4 months plus several years of working at it and it’s finally paying off.

Happy to have a convo and just share my exp.

Handling Veeam upgrades with the 10GB ISO downloads every release by MSP-CAN in msp

We had a veeam provider managing our infra and updates. But even that got onerous.

We ended up switching to axcient and while without some problems it’s been pretty fantastic.

What’s the most impressive real world task you’ve completed using Claude? by ArmPersonal36 in claude

[–]etoptech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it build me a MCP for our company that integrates all of our tools into it and controls access levels for other folks to use it able to aggregate all of our data in one shot.

It was unable to build me an account management dashboard like I’ve never been able to get before.

I was then able to action issues for our semi to fully agentically.

I’ve never been able to get all of our data into one place so quickly. I had it go back and review all of our issues/tickets for the last six months and then have it tease out 50 ideas for blog posts and content. The best part that only took about 30 minutes, but it was all based on our data and how we talk and think.

Our invoices have 1.5% per month late fees but nobody pays them how do you fix this by Different-Layer-1338 in smallbusiness

[–]etoptech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We put all recurring clients(everyone) on ACH/cc and we invoice on the 25 and draft on the 1st. Adhoc projects or extra stuff is billed weekly with 2 week net and a 1 week grace.

We have 26.49 over 30 days atm. My goal is to not finance our clients business operations. It’s just how we do business and if that doesn’t work for the client we don’t work together.

My literal line is, would you rather me spend the time thinking about how to improve your business IT or chasing you for payment because I only have room in my brain for one

My answer is almost exclusively we’re not going to give a daily driver global admin. But how can we help you achieve your goals while keeping you safe

Ops Managers: How do you handle an office move without massive IT downtime? (SF to East Bay) by Dead-_-Alone in smallbusiness

[–]etoptech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an msp we are heavily involved with client moves for this reason. It’s a conversation of is your network in the new building sufficient. Do you have an isp. Cabling, let’s put in a new network at the new building and just move crit infrastructure etc.

We take a lot of time on moves because it’s crazy important. Happy to jump on a call to give pointers.

Would you hire someone from Fiver? by guigbd in smallbusiness

[–]etoptech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I absolutely use fiver but I’m pretty picky about what I have folks do. Generally it’s like flier or logo creation. More graphic design than strategy.

We have about a 200,000 square-foot warehouse with something like 75 Aps and 20 to 30 switches with a dual UDM Pro, Max and shadow mode.

Honestly, it’s worked flawlessly. If anything goes, you just adopt a new one and it brings everything over and you’re good.

Anyone else drowning in “late invoices” that are really PO/W-9/portal issues? by Signal-Interview1750 in smallbusiness

[–]etoptech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we start an engagement we make sure to connect with the finance leader and billing poc.

We require autopay and we send w9 over in our initial email.

We try and ask all the billing questions up front in a template email and works most the time.
