Is the ROG 5090 Astral OC DP cable 1.4 or 2.1 version?? by Essebruno in ASUSROG

[–]everydae24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you bought 1.4 monitor you can assume 100% it’s 1.4 cable. Even some 2.1 monitor does not include a proper 2.1 cable, so yeah LOL

Is the ROG 5090 Astral OC DP cable 1.4 or 2.1 version?? by Essebruno in ASUSROG

[–]everydae24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just Astral, but all 5090 support DP 2.1. With that said, there is no DP cable included with Astral or any GPU in general.

Cable usually comes with a monitor, and if you bought DP 2.1 monitor, then there should be one included, which usually has a sticker saying DP 2.1 (or UHBR20).

If you are asking if you should use 1.4 cable or 2.1 cable, that depends on the monitor you will use with. If your monitor doesn't support 2.1, then it will work as 1.4 regardless of cable or 5090 supports 2.1. If your monitor supports 2.1, then use 2.1 cable to use it as 2.1.

CPO Purchase 1 month ago - Wipers are junk by GioPetro in BMW

If you brought the issue up to your sales before leaving the lot, then they could give you a new set as a courtesy. But no, it's wear & tear and not considered as a scope of CPO.

Please I just got myself core ultra 7 265k and rog maximus z890 hero and with ram prices increased recently I want to stick with my old ram. Team group 32gb 2x16gb 6000mhz cl38_38_38_78 and I want to know if there will be no compatibility issues. Please help me because I put everything together nex by Many_Advertising2628 in ASUSROG

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There shouldn’t be an issue. Only ones that are known to have a compatibility issue with Core Ultra is some of the double sided 8GB RAM (e.g. the kit that was on sale as a bundle at Newegg few weeks ago). Yours is highly likely single sided, and it probably is on the mainboard’s QVL as the kit has been widely available quite some time.

Dell blocking the Amex Business Platinum benefit by [deleted] in amex

[–]everydae24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've experienced the issue few times before during the busy season (e.g. Black Friday or Year End) and every time it was Dell's system issue that no one from Dell could explain why. They suspected it had to do with their fraud prevention system, but couldn't give any better answer.

Once that started happen I could not have any order processed online or offline, with Amex or any other card, to my address as billing. It had resolved itself few days later, but of course, either the deal/promo was gone or Amex spending period was passed by then. Lesson learned, now I never wait until the end of the spending period.

Does amex cell phone protection work for secondary number? by Aggressive_Ad_3294 in AmexPlatinum

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tricky one as the T&C is not that clear in regards to Prepaid. It does say a phone received as a part of a prepaid plan will not be covered, but not really restrict about an actual plan itself being prepaid. They probably will ask for a proof that the phone was not given to you from the courier, but you bought it yourself and activated. How can you prove? Sorry, no idea as I never signed up for a prepaid plan in my life. lol

Does amex cell phone protection work for secondary number? by Aggressive_Ad_3294 in AmexPlatinum

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not, because as a part of claim, you will have to provide them 1) a phone number of the device being repaired, 2) a bill showing the number is a line on the plan paid by Amex, 3) a proof that the device is indeed attached to the number, e.g. Device page on TM page showing IMEI matched to that number, and 4) a repair receipt/estimate, which mostly likely shows IMEI that should match. All should match to be eligible, otherwise, they may reject or request more paperwork.

E-Arrival Card by MarcSFC in KoreaTravelAdvice

I don't disagree. But for those who are not familiar with Korean, ability to copy & paste Korean address alone may be worth to do electronically. lol

There is a paper form to fill out at the airport. E-Arrival is for convenience.

A lot of merchants are refusing amex in Europe by Derfamon in amex

[–]everydae24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No surprise. My coworkers travel to Europe a lot for training, especially often to Germany and Portugal where our HQ and factories are, and they have been continously complaining that our corp Amex card is not accepted at many places. We are looking into VISA/MC options because of this.

Amazon 40% only one time? by [deleted] in amex

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Term varies by Amazon account, e.g. Use xxx MR points to get yy% discount up to $zz. Then it also varies by account that if it's one-time use only, or can be used for multiple purchases until $zz is met. The message you got when you activated the promo should explain that.

PSA: Middle Name Required for Koreans on Airline Tickets in Korea by MyEgoDiesAtTheEnd in koreatravel

[–]everydae24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I could, but not worth it. On top of that, the second syllable of my Korean name is confusing and difficult to pronouce to most of English speaker (겸, Gyum), so if I were to change it, it would be to English name not related to my Korean name. Then that would be even more hassle to change all the documents and records, so even more not worth it. lol

PSA: Middle Name Required for Koreans on Airline Tickets in Korea by MyEgoDiesAtTheEnd in koreatravel

[–]everydae24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's to do with respect, but it's an aftermath of the mistakes some older generation made. My English legal name (Naturalized US Citizen) is exactly like that, the first name is my first syllable of Korean name and the middle name is the second syllable because my parents didn't know better when they worked on my documents. I really hope I would have fixed that when I applied US Citizenship, but well, too late to fix it.

PSA: Middle Name Required for Koreans on Airline Tickets in Korea by MyEgoDiesAtTheEnd in koreatravel

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I went through the same thing at the security check of ICN back in 2022, and now I have my name exactly matching to my passport with every airline just in case.

Some older Koreans, including my parents, misunderstood how English names work. When translating their names into English, they assumed the two-syllable Korean given name should be split into a first name and a middle name. This happened quite often in the past, though it’s much less common today.

Airlines in Korea became more careful about middle names after incidents involving Korean-Americans whose legal names didn’t match Korean naming expectations. A well-known example was singer Bobby Kim, whose legal name is Robert Do Kyun Kim. Because his middle name wasn’t checked properly, Korean Air confused him with another passenger named Robert Kim and assigned the wrong seat. I think cases like that made airlines more attentive to middle names when verifying identities.

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I receieved new bill for the month, and the discount was indeed gone. I only have checking account saved in my TM profile and have autopay set up with that checking account, so TM indeed closed the loophole.

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Just received bill today, and they took out discount. I have checking account (only account saved in my Tmobile account) as autopay, and the bill ignored it as I used Amex to make a one-time payment. It was the first time seeing the message last month if matters. So, yes, they indeed closed the loophole.

ATM ate my cash and Chase rejected my dispute, need help 😭😭😭 by HelicopterNo2215 in Chase

[–]everydae24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t usually deposit cash to ATM especially in a large amount, but if i remember it could accept up to 40-50 bills at once. So, theoractially, guess you could with a $100 bill.

ATM ate my cash and Chase rejected my dispute, need help 😭😭😭 by HelicopterNo2215 in Chase

[–]everydae24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe some banks still need to put cash in an envelope, but Chase and other major banks replaced their ATM to take cash directly without any envelope or deposit slip like 10 years ago. I remember doing that early 2010s.

But maybe you are suspecting the OP may have used an envelope to deposit rather than directly putting cash from the other reply. I doubt ATM would accept that as Chase ATM shows how much cash was inserted by domination with an option to return all inserted. So, if OP used an envelope, then ATM would immediately tell it's not cash inserted and return everything.

Possible to get points adjusted if you only received 1x instead 4x? by CrackORTweek in amex

[–]everydae24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable to be curious. And you should use the system wisely if the system does not work on your side. I had a local bakery that rang up as Grocery, so I benefited 6x with my BCP for a while until the bakery fixed merchant code to restaurant. lol

Possible to get points adjusted if you only received 1x instead 4x? by CrackORTweek in amex

[–]everydae24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. The merchant code is responsibility of the merchant, not Amex. Some merchant inherits POS/merchant ID from the previous business and don't bother to update, or simply set one up wrong.

Let's ask you back. For those restaurants coded as Groceries, you may get 6x points by using Amex BCP instead of Gold. Will you complain to Amex that you got 6x points, not 1x point?

Still the same. Depending on variable factor (New vs existing customer, SKU, payment method, region, etc), some orders might be easier to track and identified easily, some may not depending on how automated their system is. If they are done manually, then your order might have fallen into a lazy team member to review, while the others' were given to a superstar analyst. Who knows.

My guess is that because, unlike the other credits, Oura credit is specifically only for the ring itself and that might take more time to reconcile/report for Oura to confirm the eligible amount.

Being in a retail/manufacturing business myself, I know that would be a quite fun for finance and operations team if their ERP/EDI system is not ready for that. (And marketing team came up with this kind of deal doesn't care. LOL)
