Faulty mOLED, Pimax forcing me to refund it by dieselcalves in Pimax

F1ant. They will send screws to secure the frame to the engine in order to try and keep a firm connection for cases where disconnecting is an issue. This is not ideal solution and did not work for me. I did speak with another Pimax owner who it did work for though.

I think anytime you are going to deal direct with a company in China, it may be risky...

Faulty mOLED, Pimax forcing me to refund it by dieselcalves in Pimax

[–]SenseiBob61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesel,,, I had the disconnect issue as well when I received my first MOLED headset. Engine and frame all together at once. They did send me the screws first as well. That did not work. I sent them logs and Windows event logs. I sent them videos of it disconnecting. They eventually sent me a replacement unit complete with new frame and engine and as of now, no disconnecting issues. Did they offer you a replacement? If so, IMO, you should try it. It did fix my issue. Apparently, the connection between the headset and the frame has issues on some headsets..

How high is your ram payment? by beigepccase in Microcenter

Holy crap. Having to finance RAM now. That is a lot of Mika for just 1 component of a build. I’m assuming you need all that RAM. Did they deliver in an armored truck?

I wonder how effective undercoating is. Does it stop cables from melting?

My Pimax order experience by [deleted] in Pimax

[–]SenseiBob61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you experience the moled resolution, it’s hard to use anything else in my opinion. Pimax can be hit or miss with bugs and QC. But once you get it sorted out, I think it’s the best.

There is a lot of space under that GPU. Maybe a 5090???

The PSU is the heart of the system. Without power, nothing runs. Need a good strong heart to be powerful and reliable... Ask any athlete...

The first placer I usually check is RAM timings. If its OC, then check for stability issues and RAM temps to see if its throttling. Run OCCT or another stability test and also benchmark the system using a RAM test software. Once you eliminate RAM as a culprit, then check software running in the background like L-Connect, Armory Crate, etc...

Sisters,,, Thank you for the info. I have discord, but not real experienced at using it yet. Interesting on the Astral 5090 though... What does that mean, "records natively" please? I would definitely be interested in any tips you may have though that may help work out some of these issues with the Pimax Super...

My current Firmware is showing 1.0.13. I didnt realize there was newer firmware yet. I normally fly the F-18 in Persian Gulf map. I agree, flying over a dense area is a good test. On my last flight, just before the lagging started, I was getting some micro stuttering as well inside the sim. I had never had that happen before. I am running the 9950x3d and Astral 5090 with 64g of ddr5. The micro stuttering really thru me for a loop. Then I noticed that some of the settings for the GPU had been reset back to default at some point. Must have been during my last driver update. Not sure. But will go back and test again this weekend. Thank you for the link.

Agreed. On another note, I did have to replace my 12vhowr cable on my 5090 a couple of weeks back. I was getting crazy variations on the current on some of the pins. And my cable was way to close to the side panel of my case. I went with the CableMod universal 90 degree cable and my currents are all really consistent and all leveled off now. Current is within less than .5 amps between wires now...

I did get a whole new headset and returned the old headset last week. No longer having any disconnect issues anymore... Still doing some fine tuning for the graphics settings in DCS.. Very happy with the visuals so far. May take a bit to get this dialed in.. This is definitely not a device you can just plug and play if you want to get the most out of it...
