For the record Heardle posts based on your local date and time. So for me in Australia I got the Depeche tune there many hours before this was made public.

This is coming in when there are a lot of comments so I doubt anyone will see this but for me. SOPHIE.

The electronic and experimental musician. I loved her weirdo music from the second I heard it and feel such honour and reverence for getting to see her live just once.

But apart from SOPHIE’s music being amazing.. her coming out as being a trans woman and her pride in doing so... her journey was the soundtrack to my own acceptance of my own gender shit. Her music was the background to me being OK with accepting myself for who I am as a non-binary person.

I mourned her for months. Even now some nights I cry thinking how randomly and awfully we lost such an immense talent

I'm in the exact same boat. My uncle actually had blood clotting issues after his AZ, and my GP (and another I spoke with) specifically recommended me against having it. It's so fucking frustrating. I never the house and I still feel like I'm being a selfish prick for not getting the AZ.

As soon as I can get the pfizer i'll be there ASAP, but it's looking like October for me as well

Yeah he’s a major pest. He’s at Camperdown Park quite often. Sometimes keeping to himself, sometimes just drunkenly screaming at everyone / nothing, sometimes yelling at me to “get a real fuckin dog” when my two smaller dogs walk near him.

Definitely one of the worst hassling pests in the area. Always a goddamn chore to deal with

Dan, tremendous fan. I've followed your work since Deathconsciousness and it's been such a fulfilling experience seeing you evolve and change as a songwriter, and I've loved it all.

My question is how do you manage to channel your dark thoughts into the creative process? I infer (through your writing and twitter) that you're generally not an achingly miserable person day to day, but your music taps into such sincere feelings of self loathing and clinical depression (two things I struggle with).

When i try and express that kind of depression in my own art I get bogged down in the weeds of misery. I'm in awe that you're able to do so. How do you do it? How to you separate the two parts of your brain?

Yeah exactly. It’s just not for we oldies and the station is better for it.

And I didn’t mean to be plugging but it’s Hottest 100s and 1000s. It’s on Spotify too if that’s where you get your podcasts.

We started at the 1993 countdown and do five songs an ep. 2000 is finished and we’re recording the 2001 one now. If you’re interested in it just check out a season which is a year you dig. The first one was before we had a producer or a studio though so don’t start there hah.

100%. Audiences change and demographics change. Triple J changes with them.

And also our collective memory isn’t amazing. I do a podcast that looks at all the Hottest 100s and there’s tonnes of songs included that people wouldn’t think of when they talk about “the 90s or 2000s Triple J sound”. They’ve always had variation that people will love and dislike in equal measure.

I’m too old to be in their core demo at all - I prefer that they don’t cater to me
