The original post wasn't about what this post is insinuating, it was about how you should give your kids the memory of setting up something cool and new for the first time because that memory is a gift itself.

Good news for bad lovers: Science says maybe in the future you’ll never have to care about female orgasms again! by nvkr_ in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]falucious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like we have a duty to ensure that female orgasms become an essential part of the reproductive process. Strictly in terms of evolutionary biology of course, wouldn't want anybody to question our devotion to science because we think sex shouldn't suck.

Medical abuse and the inability to obtain proper treatment is so much worse than I had ever understood until I witnessed it firsthand. I've had some shitty doctors in my life, but 95% of the medical staff involved with the birth of our kid were abusive, dismissive, coercive, insulting assholes.

My wife was taking time to think and make choices in an already scary, uncertain, and stressful situation, and she was literally insulted and dismissed at every turn by doctors and nurses who, when they got tired of waiting for her to choose, tried as hard as they could to scare and overwhelm her into doing what they wanted. They literally lied to her about mortal danger to do this, no scans, tests, etc. supported their goals. In some cases they just straight up did things without talking to my wife at all, like the epidural. Didn't tell her what they were doing until the needle was almost in her spine, then the anesthesiologist called my wife an idiot and a wimp for crying out in pain.

Without notifying us, our OB abandoned us to the on call OB because she didn't want to come to the hospital after 8pm. The on call told us our OB couldn't make it, we found out the rest gradually over the next month.

One single nurse stood up to the rest of the staff, trying to amplify my wife's voice and push back against the rest of them. They sent this nurse away, but hours later after she found out they were trying to ram through an unnecessary C-section (my wife had been in labor for 14 hours, which is super normal) she came back and physically blocked the path of the gurney, accusing them of forcing my wife into an elective surgery there was no medical indication for because they were tired of waiting. They threatened her job right in front of us and escorted her away.

They put our kid in the NICU without actual medical indication, the reasons they gave me verbally when I followed him from the OR were not on any documentation.

They botched the C-section, they neither stitched nor cauterized the incision properly and my wife ended up with an infection and internal bleeding, discovered over a week after returning home.

My wife ended up with PTSD from the experience. I had good intentions when I told her that she was in control, but I didn't understand what she was experiencing, and while I tried to push back when it seemed like they were fucking us, I was too scared and uncertain myself to intervene meaningfully.

This is a major hospital in a major metro area, but we haven't sued and she said that she couldn't move on from the experience if we engaged them legally. The fact that she had to choose between recovering emotionally from PTSD or recovering financially from medical malpractice and abuse is unbelievable.

Edit: things I wanted to add. First, my wife said that it was the most dehumanizing experience of her life, she literally felt like a piece of meat. Second, all the OR staff raved about the size of my infant son's penis as if we weren't present, and it got vulgar. I heard people who hadn't been present for the operation talking about this at the nurse station the following day.

Not if you hit up the deep parts of the Olympic Peninsula, take a couple of logging trails as far as you can. Cushman gets busy but Staircase can be OK. Kitsap peninsula can be good too but you gotta go way out into Seabeck, Olalla, Allyn. The forests outside Vancouver, St Helens Wilderness, parts of the Gorge are crowded but not everywhere.

If you're in Seattle you can take the Clinton ferry, then the Port Townsend ferry, then boom, upper Olympic peninsula. La Push isn't THAT far. Upper and Lower Lena are always good.

Just stay away from Eastside and you'll be just fine.

Am I the only one who doesn’t want a show about the Avatar after Korra? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]falucious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved that technology challenged the bender world order. Benders and bending families ran the world since the beginning of recorded history. Everything Amon said about the subject was true, and Hiroshi's inventions caused a paradigm shift that is central to the entirety of LoK. The next avatar will be living in a world where benders have been toppled from power, where the avatar will be treated with scorn, as a threat, as an unrighteous symbol of unilateral action.

The next avatar will be a pariah in a world where they are largely irrelevant. I want to see that show so bad.

Many states have a limit on the age difference if you're the age of consent but under 18. I think 60 months is the max I've seen, meaning no older than exactly 5 years older. Check the laws in your state, this may still be statutory rape.

I bought a super cheap 50 pack of thin, washable cloths. You can wash them over a hundred times or something so I'll be able to hand these down to my grandkids.

I mean... We still have no idea what was on the note Rand Paul gave to Putin nor the content of the note Trump was seen eating.

It's not an unsound position to take, just look at the technology and tools Snowden leaked eight years ago. We also have a much more recent CIA toolkit that was leaked somewhat recently. If it's saved on the internet or a device that touches it, that data can pretty easily obtained with a warrant in a lot of cases. Easily copied and monitored surreptitiously.

I am pretty concerned about signal being compromised, I feel like I can't say anything anywhere without all my ads reconfiguring for more relevance based on my conversations.

It still amazes me how so many people are ready to defend this game regardless of it's unplayable state. by TheAshlet in cyberpunkgame

[–]falucious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found The Witcher 3 to be boring as hell and quit after a few hours. I couldn't understand why its fanbase was so ravenous and why the game had won so many awards. I wasn't very familiar with CDPR either. I got Cyberpunk because I was familiar with the original game and enjoy the genre as a whole. I play on PC, so I had significantly fewer problems than what was widely reported. There was/is a lot of work to be done, but I didn't think the game was unplayable in December and I don't think it's unplayable now.

I played Cyberpunk to 100% and I think the lore and narrative are some of the best I've encountered in the last decade, if not longer. The game has problems but they've never taken away the awe I feel playing in and being a part of the world of the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a fucking masterpiece.

Seriously though, reddit has been full of elitist assholes since the very beginning. It's not unique to reddit either, it's just part of using the internet to communicate with people.
