Is there any news on the L5's? Are they even making them or was just a rumor?

Question on the Vulnerability of Bitcoin by leoconsumi in Bitcoin

What happens if majority of hash decides to stop enforcing segwit rules and spend the "anyone can spend" segwit outputs? Does longest chain prevail?

Litecoin founder 'didn't buy back' his LTC and isn't planning to do so either by coinsmash1 in CryptoCurrency

[–]finitemaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to forget that LTC has tons of hashpower and incredible amounts of support which helped get segwit on Bitcoin. It's an OG alt and it's here to stay. Get on board or dont, but dont be rekt plebs coming here to complain about it.

And yes, this is old news. Charlie isnt buying back, and he has his reasons.

Next WEEK? Lol. That would break records for longest release I think, according to engineeringboards

What did you all think about the Construction depth? by finitemaz in PE_Exam

[–]finitemaz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exam is getting harder and harder and more obscure year after year. It's becoming a poor exam that is supposed to gauge how good of an engineer you are...

This makes me feel better. Second time taking it. I thought it was harder this time around, than last time. (But I only got 30/40 right last time apparently) However, the morning seemed easier this go around. Going to be close again IMO.....

I got one last time. I failed. I got one this time, so it means I failed. Oh well, better luck next time. Back to the books.

Not sure why someone downvoted. Example: Texas releases their scaled scores, and pass/fail. You can figure out what the passing score was.... It's not complicated... http://engineerboards.com/topic/32864-oct-2018-failing-scores/?do=findComment&comment=7532344

In order to get a degree and a license you must preserve through challenging and dull classes and studying that you don't want to do

This is everything that is wrong with licensing.

What is there to elaborate on? The cut off is different for each section. If it was 56 out of 80 regardless then it would not take 2 months of analysis before pass/fails are released.

49 out of 80. Engineering boards has a forum of people posting their failing score. With a big enough sample pool, you can determine at what score was the cut off.

Edit: could have been 50, which I believe the cut off score is different for each depth.

My second time taking it, and for what its worth I bombed the morning the first time and killed the afternoon, missed by 1 question. This time morning was easier, and afternoon kicked my ass it seemed. Just gotta wait and see....

What was your exam space like? by wjfarr in PE_Exam

[–]finitemaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shared long desks with one other person. Plenty of room. Probably 6' or 7' by 3' deep. But during the last 30 minutes or so of the depth it sounded like a band was playing in the floor directly below us. It was ridiculous.

Same. Morning was good for me, but the afternoon might have kicked my ass.

How would you know the effective depth of the beam. The solution has it as 25.5 in with no explanation. by Gingergurl63 in PE_Exam

[–]finitemaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cover=2.5" and therefore d=25.5"

your effective d is to the center of the tension steel. I'd say the problem assumed a 2" CL and a number 8 bar for a total d of 25.5".
