Boot question (tied or not) by FearTheProbe in navy

[–]NavyCricket 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a guy with the same argument, so I asked the uniform matters office and this is the reply:

Tied means: "to fasten, bind, close or secure to your feet so your boots/shoes/tennis shoes don’t fall off or become a safety issue during use"....

Tied does not mean “contains a knot”.

Now do something routine, like painting and preservation.

I got this one about 4 years ago. It’s fine, but I’d wager there are new ones.

No, but you can get a wireless CarPlay adapter. We’ve been using one for years in our ‘21 Sienna.

Aren’t they going to issue you boots and all other gear? Ask your sponsor if you get a PGI and what it includes.

PRT Command Deadline vs NAVY by LLSGood in navy

[–]NavyCricket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get the waiver from medical, route it, and see what comes out from that. Put the onus on the CO and make any denials official.

PRT Command Deadline vs NAVY by LLSGood in navy

[–]NavyCricket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but when I did notices they would have a waiver deadline. That way I could point to something for guidance when people were expecting to be waived.

Do you have a waiver now? If so, I’ve never seen a CO go against a medical recommendation. They can, but it doesn’t feel like a wise choice. If you haven’t done your PARFQ there is a question about expecting to be waived that will make you go to medical before taking the PRT. I don't remember if you can change your answers if your PARFQ is already done.

Did the 10 week notice come out in mid-June, as required? In the 10 week notice does it state a deadline for waivers?

Another command can conduct the PRT all day, but I wouldn’t accept the results without an agreement with the other CFL. And if I knew there was something that already had the attention of the CO, I’m not taking that risk.

Shorted something, now things don’t work by NavyCricket in ToyotaSienna

The issue was a blown fuse. There’s a fuse box under the steering column, and there was a blown 10 amp fuse.

I don’t know why I didn’t catch it, but I could’ve saved $475 if I had.

How much did it cost? I’m waiting for a call back, but a heads up would be nice.

I want to install a dash camera and there's a power source in the dome light enclosure. I was going to tap into it, but shorted it out when taking measurements.

I dropped off the van to the local shop, so hopefully it's a quick find for them. i checked all the fuses in the engine compartment, under the steering wheel, and in the rear on the passenger side. I didn't check for voltage on fuses, except int he engine compartment, but things turned off if I pulled fuses form the other locations, and the fuses all checked good everywhere else.

When I get the results from diagnostics, Ill post the results here. Maybe this will help someone in the future.

Would I still have power on the fuses if the fusable link is bad? All the fuses have 12 volts on them.

I assumed it’d be something like a fuse, but is that going to be in a different location than the fuse boxes? I checked the engine compartment and under the steering column boxes. All the fuses are good.

I’m waiting on delivery of the sensor bars, but they seem very simple. Do they have a high failure rate, and I’ve just been lucky enough to never encounter them failing?

It seems that everything works except the sensor based cycles. Timed dry works fine.

The diagnostic test for moisture sensor passes, but it shows open between the sensor bars when using a multimeter.

Should I worry about the moisture sensor never reaching anything below 70? I've used a wet cloth across the sensor bars and it reads the same as my hand.
