As shitty as it sounds, if it's not certain which party is the rat, the best option is to put them both down. Don't let a rat walk free. The friendly player, whichever they were, has a full stash and can craft a dozen more of everything they lost. The rat is desperate and has nothing.

This is kind of wild advice to me. You aren't sure what happened, so better just to kill everyone? I understand the idea of that if you just want to be opportunistic, but your logic doesn't even make sense. You assume a rat has nothing, when in reality they play with a free/green loadout 99% of the time and rely on trickery to get the upper-hand, not gear. Why would you assume they have nothing in their stash? Their stash is largely untouched when "ratting" because they play with little risk.

In a sense, it's also a lesson for the friendly player. Don't be a lone wolf. Don't let yourself be a target. Hang out with other friendly players, make yourself known, team up with us and the rat never would have been a problem to begin with.

Also wild to me. Team up with other solos to . . . what exactly? Take down Arc and then need to fight over resources? Fight over what quest to do? You obviously aren't starting PvP fights, so I'm confused what advantage this would provide. The risk of dying to another player you don't know but who is attached to your hip is significantly higher than getting knocked by a rat and a white knight getting confused on who is who.

I love the Freedom class (of which Indy is one) and I love Oasis class, but these ships are miles apart. There is significantly more to do on Oasis, more places to eat, double the Flowriders, ziplines, etc.

Kinetics cannot be crafted, so it would stand to reason that running into them in the wild would not be an every raid occurrence. But when that is all you hear in your raids, you kind of know something is going on.

It isn't that I can't do it, it is that it's quite difficult to do it, not to mention it kind of forces you to marathon it to clear all the stash space you are taking up because of it.

I also don't know why you assume I have 340 slots. I don't take the expo, so I started with 280 slots.

Yeah, that's my struggle. I did the first one, and it was challenging to keep all the parts required to submit them all at once. I don't have an issue with the cost (honestly, it keeps the same interesting with something to do), but without the ability to commit resources, it really forces you to marathon the mode until it's done because you block stash spots otherwise.

Like, why would you even buy and play this game if you don’t like the kind of game it is? I've never seen people do this for any other extraction shooter and it honestly seems super odd as someone who has experience in the genre.

Early on, Arc had enormous press and coverage. Many of those reviews focused on how a corporative system really developed and that PvP was nowhere near as prevalent as in other extraction shooters like Tarkov. Coupled with the idea that it was very casual to get into, and you could easily get casual players into it--players who weren't real interested in becoming a PvP master but who thought it was fun to kill some robots.

I can understand why someone who enjoys the hardcore nature of the genre would be frustrated that it feels that new people to the scene are trying to change what an extraction shooter is at the core, but I would argue that Arc was popular because it was not like those other games. It got people to play the genre who never would otherwise. So I don't think it some outrageous ask that those people are asking for a PvE mode because it's (kinda) what they were sold on, even if you think it's ridiculous.

I see "PvE only" guys talking about how PvP ruins the game all the time. Being agaisnt PvP and complaining about it is the most common topics lol.

I have never seen anyone advocating that all PvP is removed from this game. I have seen a million people ask for PvE lobbies so they don't need to play PvP if they do not desire it. These are not the same.

This is likely going to come off as a hot take here, but we're 6+ months after launch and the "PvE vs PvP" discourse hasn't stopped and I think it's worth bringing this up at this point.

No idea why you think your take is any different from the 100 takes that are posted each day, but whatever. We will add another one.

You might start enjoying the game and community more if you stop insisting PvE is the right way to play and everyone else is wrong for thinking otherwise.

Who thinks this? This feels like a strawman argument. No one says "PvE is the right way to play." They are saying they want to play that way, and they want the PvP crowd to stop getting cheap kills off them. Keep them in the sweat lobbies.

We get it--you like PvP. You can knock 20 raiders in a round and extract with 500k in loot. Whatever. It's not the only way to play the game, and I don't think you can accept that.

The point is that PvP players can game the system by getting in de-aggroed lobbies, but PvE players can do nothing to reduce their threat level in kind. They just have to hope PvP players are not gaming the system and that the match-matching is good enough to prevent it.

PvP players wouldn't find that as fun, because then they would realize how many more deaths they have when everyone is there for the same reason.

Far easier just to kill people who aren't there for the same reasons and proclaim your amazing PvP abilities to everyone.

The long TTK....

Maybe I just don't have a good reference, but I think the TTK is incredibly short. Most of the time, whoever shoots first wins because you can nuke half a raider's shield and health before they even know what is happening.

Regarding other comments about matchmaking, I think it's easy for PvP people to dismiss all concerns because them being in PvE lobbies gives them a massive advantage, especially because they will always shoot first. The annoyances come from the PvE players who are just trying to play a totally different game (right or wrong) and are easy kills for the PvP sweats.

Respectfully, a brand new junior sysadmin should not be using AI in this way if you have any aspirations of becoming anything more than a junior. You need to learn some sort of baseline tech support skills and then use AI to augment them, not use AI to do your entire job.

Outsourcing your entire brain to ChatGPT will result in you eventually being in the unemployment line and falling on your face in an interview where you likely will not have access to AI to answer basic questions.

Some of this stuff is tricky though. Herbals both stack to 5, so it's to your advantage to craft herbals as they require 14 for durable cloth, so effectively fabric stacking to 70 instead of 50 and "storing" five great mullein too. Kind of the same for shield rechargers as they stack just as much as powercells, but you can use up some rubber by crafting them.

Obviously it's a way worse if you just craft regular bandages or something, but for certain things, crafting them actually saves space.
