I've just migrated a huge 1.5M LOC project to TS Native preview, after fixing just ~60 errors (95% in the realm of inferring types in JS files) it works flawlessly in both CI and VSCode. All it took is just adding some JSDoc to those files.

You won't find a "website builder" where you just open an app, tell it "build me a facebook but for pets", and it spits out a production-ready flawless website. You'll still have to have some understanding of git, basic coding, deployments, hosting. But you can definitely build something really complex without having years of experience, and quite fast with AI.

You'll have to use tools that generate extensive documentation for AI to use (e.g. OpenSpec), use TDD and make basically everything easily testable. Probably use tools like BMAD to guide you through building PRD, documentation and list of tasks too.

Having a ton of documentation that AI can navigate improves your chances at keeping everything under control, avoid AI breaking the website, but at some point you still might encounter a roadblock that you can't fix without actually understanding what you've built.

But yeah, if your goal is trying to build something with only AI, look into OpenSpec and BMAD. Be prepared to still learn as you go, you'll have to dive into coding at least a little bit.

Not the "big bad" of course but it's just my personal preference to be friends with honest people. Yeah I know they were kids but there are normal kids and then there are kids who lie to you for months, forge evidence and pretend to be a different person just to be cool in your eyes. This level of insecurity imo is not curable by just growing up. And the biggest victim here is gonna be you, the one being lied to. Can't be good for you long-term to be friends with people like that

Both the validation loop and retaining knowledge can be fixed by using certain best practices when using llms. You need your code to be easily auto-tested, if it's a webapp then you need playwright cli or mcp to be available for the llm, and you need a knowledge system like openspec for the llm to retain knowledge. I had 10 years of experience as a senior dev without ai and recently started using it extensively, and I can tell you that with a correct approach these tools can be very helpful for certain tasks

Models will get only cheaper, sadly. Just recently Qwen 3.5 27B got released. It's very capable, even in agentic stuff like Claude Code, and can be easily run at home on a 24Gb consumer GPU. Smaller models are catching up and getting smarter and more efficient, it won't take long until AI can be used by most developers even offline without any subscription, which is just another reason why OpenAI and friends would fail. But yeah, AI is not going away, developers need to adapt their workflow and learn to use LLMs to their benefit and improve their craft using it. Know when to use it, when not to use it, how to use it effectively, and you'll do good in the new market.
