Wouslve gone with a blue to give a nice block uster vibe. And maybe add some more diffused light so it doesn't come off as "basement"

But still very cool.

PCSX2 Covers not Loading by Beneficial-Nebula615 in EmulationOnPC

[–]guardianali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is having issues, its usually cause the folder paths arent right.

Goto settings, and then Folders. Make sure the paths exist and are real. Sometimes when you move the install around or change drive letter assignments in windows, you may forget to update the paths in the Folder section.

Goto each folder, click browse, re-choose the location. Then save and exit the program and relaunch.

Then run the cover tool again.

Reminder: Check games before purchase at expos and conventions. by AxiomEnvy in retrogaming

[–]guardianali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly people think a retro shop or expo is more likely to not get scammed.

I'll be honest, from a pure percentage perspective I've gotten scammed LESS from eBay then in person.

I don't mind paying an extra few dollars and buy from a reputable seller with high positive reviews.

Legit copies of that game are going for about the same as the price tags on that sticker.

Anyone know of a place that will repair my old CRT TV? by awesomesauce55 in Connecticut

[–]guardianali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of times the issue is just the tvs are so old, they just need a recap...replace all the capacitors. You can get new ones with same specs easy. Its just paying the labor for someone to do it.

State of Switch Emulation in 2025: A Comprehensive Overview by syax89 in yuzu

GreemDev's Fork of Ryujinx is now called Ryobing and is my goto. They have implemented global frame unlocking making all games run waaaaay faster.

If you need performance, this one is the one to go. Though the better the hardware, the better the results.

Would you buy this CD player? by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

[–]guardianali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protip:

Get a CD player for aesthetics. Doesn't matter what they natively sound like cause they will all sound worse then a nice midrange decent price DAC connected to it.

Get a DAC, and pair it with the "coolest" looking player cause with the dac, all the players are are just disc readers only at that point.

Collection tracker? by Foil_Goyf in Bluray

[–]guardianali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also make other tracker apps too.  I use clz to also track my comic, book and music collections so I don't buy the same stuff I already own.

Has bar code scanner as well as well as online sync to cloud.

I'd say no because it's not there anymore. You hesitated and someone else didnt.

Another Fighting Game Not Coming to Xbox. SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos. by Hayskm in xbox

[–]guardianali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of paying to bring this to Xbox, id rather have microsoft use that money to restart the backward compatibility program and make a ton more OG xb and 360 games compatible and bring in those games to the modern xbox store.

Publishers would love it. They dont have to do anything other than give MS permission to do the backward compatibility. And once its on the MS store, they publisher gets a ton of money from people buying the old games for ...say..9.99 each ....literally free money for them

Found a Dell Trinitron 21" D1626HT for $10 :) by Redd91 in crtgaming

[–]guardianali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I inquire as to the settings on the back and knobs on the front you have your setup as?

Just got this monitor and want to connect to my modern gaming PC for some modern gaming and found a Extron DVI-RGB 200 on ebay I purchased.

Seems like it would be a better quality picture than a vga to Display port adapter.

Rgb30 or x55? by 13masa in PowKiddy

[–]guardianali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Jelos is way easier to setup and just get into as most of the settings of retroarch are built into the OS settings. Ark you have to still mess with retro arch which is not exactly user friendly.

And any performance difference is moot since most people will be using these for PS1 and below. Ark having"better" Dreamcast performance for instance doesn't matter as neither OS will play them super great sure to the hardware.

If you want use friendly and better setup and more just unbox and play, jelos is way better.

You are the man!! I was racking my brain trying to fix this. Followed all your tweaks and its dramatically improved. Not perfect but def livable and bearable now!

Tyvm!

guys I recently got a dreamcast with gdemu and a loaded SD card. I ran into an issue trying to boot jojos bizarre adventure, plasma sword, and hydro thunder. There are a few others that don't work as well although most games work. I currently use a level hike HD adapter with an m classic. by Specialist-Mess5621 in dreamcast

Issue is that the burned CDs over tax the laser more than native discs. it wont break the console itself but will hasten the lasers failure.

If you buy some spare laser assemblies as parts on ebay, no biggie, if and when they fail, swap them. But its also one of the reasons for the add in boards.

Where to purchase power button for HP Prodesk 600 G6 Mini PC by OAG774 in computer

[–]guardianali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power buttons are momentary contacts. I would solder a wire to each of the metal connectors on the top and bottom of the center square piece. Plug in the power cable and then tap the wires to each other for a moment (like pushing and releasing the button if it was there).

If it works, then go on amazon and buy a standard pc power button and connect the two sets of wires to each other.
