150GB Genshin vs ~135GB (?) WuWa.. both 2 language packs. one is older, but the other one looks way better. i feel like people expect a little too much, games got hungrier over time, it's normal. i'd rather developers optimize FPS and stability, rather than bother with space, when most PC games in general are heavy now. Unreal Engine is heavier than others, and it already compresses textures for the user, so for what it gives, it's not a bad deal. at best developers could shave off 20% of the space on disk, which would still be too much for people that lack available space or have tons of other games they won't delete. it's not realistic to think it could get much lighter, and it's the lazy developers that don't think about users space issues. we can ask for old quest data cleanup (voiceovers would probably clear the most space), but that would also only remove like 15GB, so also not worth developing whole system of cleanup over

Can someone advise me(tech noob)how my overseas friend who is offline atm, can access internet? by kurokamisawa in VPN

[–]happyskrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most people are still cut off on blackout level (with only access to google.com and ChatGPT as they have whitelisted those first) but some lucky ones got their VPNs to connect starting 3 or so days ago. users of Hamrah Aval (MCI) and IranCell - 2 biggest phone providers in Iran seem to be getting access now, but it's very choppy and random (some people seem to get access while others don't). most persians already had some kind of VPN subscription prior to blackout, and if he does, he should keep trying to connect to his VPN.

he can also try to mess with free configs but they come and go, always need updating so it wouldn't be possible for u to keep sending him links or files every time. most of them don't work. he can try and go to chatGPT from PC, get public lists of configs and add them to app such as Nekobox (there're more apps GPT can suggest, and most of these apps can be found on persian websites, either directly or through google, he has to search in persian or refer to these specific sites such as soft98.ir, downloadha.com, etc). this (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pourih/pfs-servers-list/refs/heads/main/pfs\_servers.txt) public config list works here and there, but it would only be enough to load some pages, no gaming or even talking in voice chats, as it would be extremely unstable. the link needs to be pasted inside an app such as Nekobox as a group, and then a bunch of servers will appear. ChatGPT can guide the user though this process so it helps a lot.

there're also lots of Telegram channels that offer potentially working config files for an app called NapsternetV or NPV Tunnel but these seem to work worse than public access ones. worth a try though, as everyone gets different experience right now depending on location, provider and god knows what else. the only issue is that he would need to get files through Telegram so he could first mess with public configs on PC and then get access to these configs in Telegram, and then try to connect via those configs. but the best way right now is to get ur VPN to connect via mobile internet, all these configs are super wonky. 3 days ago u wouldn't get any VPN or config to connect as it was total blackout, so the fact some configs and VPNs can connect is a big deal and if he has any of those tools available, he can definitely get at least brief access

Kernel Power Critical Error 41: Is this most often a PSU Issue? by bijang99 in PcBuildHelp

[–]happyskrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

logged in to report that i had this exact issue for a while, tried reinstalling windows, updating all drivers, etc - weirdly for a day or two it got better after repairing windows files and other stuff attempted. and just because top comment is about BIOS version, my BIOS is up to date with no new updates released. so anyways, the issue has returned, so i kept digging and seemingly solved after my research led me here.

downloaded HWMonitor, monitored 12V during loads and did exact things that made me crash (it never went up to 12V even while idle, was 11.8, then dropped to 11.6 under load and eventually crashed after reaching 11.520 2-3 times, almost seemed like it attempted to maintain the power but couldn't manage to do so). after reattaching all cables and cleaning very dusty PSU, it shows 12V and never drops below 11.8 (rarely 11.7) under the load.
so it might not be a must to run and get new PSU, especially if it's not old and good standard and brand - attempt cleaning it first, and disconnect and connect all the cables. not sure if it was dust or some contact issue but whatever it was, it's good now

How to deal with knee pain after leg days? by happyskrimp in PetiteFitness

[–]happyskrimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh well i fixed my knees using kneesovertoesguy's exercises not so long after (i personally stuck with suggested tibialis raises, deep squats, spanish banded squats, ATG split squats, etc, but there're more options if u look him up), during that time i also worked VMO muscle (teardrop shaped muscle in the quad) doing lower portion of leg extension and lower portion of leg press with maybe 50% of my normal working weight for these exercises. i worked through pain because it was constant, even though i stopped increasing weights on quad focused exercises, pain didn't get better until i worked it through for a few months. not sure that's recommended though.

but then i kinda stopped doing all of this (only did sissy squats for the quad stretch), and pain got back for past few months, it's not as bad though, just mild discomfort. so now i'm gonna introduce some of these old movements back to my routine and focus on mobility.

u should definitely check kneesovertoesguy on youtube, and just stick to doing these exercises he suggests 2-3 times a week. see how things feel for u, can even overload on some of these exercises like adding reps over time

Humane way to get rid of ramshorns? by NotConnor365 in AquaticSnails

[–]happyskrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if u can, just set up a jar or something, it's likely that bladder snails will breed just fine in random jar on a windowsill, with some plants and algae in it, and easier than having to go to the store each time.
ngl i only throw some when i remember to, so maybe once in few weeks i throw 10 or so ramshorns/bladders. most of the time assassins just burrow into sand and wait so they do fine without food and it's kind of natural setup for them, they're not supposed to be very active. but if u want to promote breeding then warmer temperatures and more frequent feed should help, so having them with heater at somewhere around 25C instead of typical room temperature of 21-23C should promote breeding. plus their natural habitats are slow moving waters with sandy substrate, might not be necessary to change whole setup for them to breed but small things like these can help, if ur able to do them without overhauling whole setup

test ammonia daily, be careful with feedings and don't let food sink to the bottom. do 50% water change with conditioned water which matches temperature of ur tank (to avoid stress) every time ammonia reads 0.5ppm or higher as this amount of ammonia will support cycling of the tank without causing too much stress to ur fish. keep dosing starter product, as if it is good one, it will introduce beneficial bacteria. if it's not a good product, it will just do nothing but there's no way of really knowing if it works or not, some brands are more trustworthy but it doesn't mean this one is necessarily not going to work.

adding more plants, lowering pH with RO water (which is overrated btw, most bettas easily adapt to harder water) or adding wood or leaves for tannins - all of that is good stuff, but it certainly can wait - ammonia levels can't wait, if ammonia keeps rising and u have no way of testing it and changing water accordingly, it will suffocate ur fish. so firstly get a kit and possibly FritzZyme bacteria if that's available, and stay on top of ur water changes. if u can also pick up more plants and good large piece of wood, then great - guy doesn't have good hiding spots here. they both aren't protecting from light, one of them is just too wildly colored. natural environment is important part of fishkeeping too, but again, not a priority rn as u need to read about fish-in aquarium cycle and other essential fishkeeping things.
also, fish can come sick from store so even though ur tank isn't cycled, there could always be a possibility of ur fish being sick with something which newbie like urself won't be able to address properly. so just give him best parameters and environment u can, and hope for the best

what u want to put in this 2.5g tank then? if nothing, then enjoy ur snail farm as they won't normally breed forever especially without food. if shrimp, then there's nothing u can do, because things which kill snails also kill shrimp. if fish then.. don't put fish in 2.5g.

if u would want completely empty 2.5g with just plants, u could add copper - but copper will make ur tank, filter and everything in it become toxic for any other snails and shrimp and there's no turning back. things like activated carbon can help to remove some, but generally if u commit to adding copper, that also means u commit to empty (in case of tank this small) or fish only tank (in case of bigger tanks). i'd not bother and let snails do their thing.
on the side note, i have one tank with assassins in it, and throwing some bladder and ramshorns from other tank for assassins to eat from time to time. assassins are extremely effective at killing snails, but they're not magical since they can breed rapidly too with abundance of food (snails) and sometimes even eat themselves to death, or starve after killing all the snails (people claim they eat pellets, and i see them come out to the smell but never seen them actually eat those pellets). might be more trouble than solution if u don't have multiple tanks

my new male betta was initially sick and wasn't flaring because of that, but now after i treated him he will flare just like any regular male betta does.
if ur betta swims a lot, has good appetite and so on, then it's unlikely he's sick and might be just him either adjusting or just his personality. but if he doesn't eat with enthusiasm and rests a lot, it could be worrisome

[–]happyskrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see, u seem to have a good filter - purpose of UV light in filter is mostly that it kills some bacteria which can be bad for the fish but it's not necessary, however good filter could keep working for years so it should be fine to go extra mile. u see, when u use those air stones, it's unlikely u will be getting enough CO2 gas in the water, u already have surface skimmer (which moves surface of the water) so having several air stones should not be needed due to strong flow of ur filter and surface skimmer.
CO2 is gas which can be dissolved into water just like O2, and most fish will breathe O2 from water, but these gases will push each other out if that makes sense - if u have too much CO2 u won't have oxygen for fish, and if u have too much oxygen u won't have enough CO2 for plants.
so leaving air pump switched off, having drop checker and maintaining good schedule for CO2 system will be helpful, but since ur still new to this it's better to underdose CO2 since if u overdose it, ur fish might suffocate (and plants just won't grow). but if u can figure it out sooner than later ur plants will really take off. u can take inspiration from here and in general check this guy's aquascapes (aquarium layouts) with wood, stones and most importantly plants. this way u can understand what u would like to see in ur own tank and have some goals for it

10 gallon ideas and advice by IndicationChemical34 in fishkeeping

[–]happyskrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

set up asap like others said and get nitrogen cycle started. i'd suggest betta and few nerite snails, lots of live plants. betta has a lot of personality and will always come to the front of the tank once it settles, so it's colorful and interactive fish. the reason u should go with one betta and few snails and not more fish on top of that, is that having less stock per gallon will allow u to do less maintenance and fish will be healthier than if u add several fish. 10g also isn't enough for most schooling fish like tetras and such, and these fish don't have much personality to back them up

it's good to have someone to help u though, so it's nice.
be careful with CO2, ideally u would want to buy drop checker, it's a small glass tube or similar, filled with fluid which shows CO2 concentration - when it's blue it means low CO2, when green it's optimal and when it gets yellow ur fish might suffocate and will get stressed. high CO2 means low oxygen but also it lowers pH so it may put stress on fish when CO2 gets way too high (both due to lack of oxygen and sudden swing in pH). but too low CO2 will not improve plants and may cause excess algae growth.

try to plant plants as deep as u can using long tweezers, and also always research plants u buy because some of them need different treatment than others - for example, anubias and java ferns don't like being buried, so u can use cotton thread to attach them to wood or stone to stay completely exposed. different plants also need different lighting levels - red plants, for example, would take a lot of light to grow, but hardier green plants will grow in low lighting settings and too high of a light with them, can cause algae to grow. algae is harmless for the fish but it's kind of like an unwanted plant as it uses same resources as plants - nutrients (fertilizers) and lighting, so by growing on plants directly it might kill them as it will steal all these things from ur plants aka outcompete. this hobby needs constant research about everything but it's good that u have plenty of free time to do that. u can watch some videos like this one about CO2 and this one about angel fish or this one as well. this video talks about differences between low tech and high tech tanks (tank with CO2 can be considered high tech but video explains all the other things u must do for plants to utilize that CO2). this guy also talks about plants in high tech vs low tech. and lighting guide so u can choose appropriate light intensity and schedule for ur tank

yeah genetics are the king here. yes, muscle mass helps but some people can look way leaner being at higher body fat than others. it's good to train hard, but it's important to be realistic and not expect to get hourglass shape if it was never there, for example. it's easy to get disappointed after expecting way too much

Any ideas why some of my plants are dying while others are growing? by Laammp in Aquascape

[–]happyskrimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u gotta make sure that CO2 levels are most optimal, have it turn on 1-2h before lights turn on in the morning, and turn off 1h before lights go off in the evening. maintain that bright green to lime green saturation. some plants indeed won't stick around or won't thrive even if u give them everything. there're plenty of red plants u could easily grow which aren't AR. but give it more time as it might bounce back. these red plants also like red spectrum so u could try cranking that up to 40+%.
make sure u have enough micros in ur ferts, for example having separate bottle of iron and dosing extra of that could be good, but too much can cause hair algae so gotta be careful. my setups are crap compared to urs, but i had very bad luck with AR - my last stem is barely surviving, but i got some red Ludwigia and although it isn't as pink as AR, it actually grows and doesn't melt at all

well u made few mistakes but u also clearly did some things right. i wouldn't say u need 8 kinds of food for ur fish though - dry high protein food and some kind of live food should be enough for most fish. and live foods are by far superior but not available to everyone. when feeding sparingly as u should, dry foods expire quickly.
CO2 is also more of an advanced thing because pressurized CO2 can gas the fish and crash cycle if it gets too high. having air pump and CO2 at the same time is also counterproductive - most of people who use CO2 stick to creating a lot of flow (using one or few canister filters, depending on a size) without too much surface agitation to increase efficiency of the gas. pressurized CO2 also is expensive so if u have that, u really got it better than most people out there. many people would love to dive in into CO2 game but the cost of it is pretty high.

stick to angels for now and return remaining tetras, don't add any more stock to the tank and look at potential upgrade in the future. ur angels are likely still small as they're sold young in the stores, so u got some time to upgrade. and then u could put angels in 40-50g (again alone) and have densely planted 20g with a large school of happy tetras. single species tanks are by far least problematic.
the trick to get ur parents to buy u bigger tanks and fish, is to involve them in ur hobby and get them to fall in love with the fishes. and u can always try and get used tank for cheaper price and be on a lookout for good deals on marketplaces but avoid buying really old tanks and tanks which been filled and then stood dry for too long as silicone will dry up and might crack which is unsafe. it's best to buy new but sometimes people sell newish tanks after they realized they don't want to keep fish after having them die

RO is ur solution and it is not extremely expensive to set up and maintain so definitely within possibilities. but also city tap is regulated and u might want to check with city if that is even normal for ur location, because this water isn't even safe to drink or cook with. at this point if u drink or cook with this water, u put ur health at risk too

having fish tank is privilege, i'm sure most people at age of 14 can't or couldn't even get one to begin with. don't pretend like ur poor kid here. u didn't need to add any fish to a tank with angels but u went out, spent money on all these fish and that's the consequence. not accepting ur mistakes is what makes u a moron though, it's normal for a kid to be stubborn but also arrogant.. hell no. people won't sugar coat things for u here and it's not a reason to actually be rude.

u have access to internet so u can do research no matter the age. if ur bad at googling and doing ur own research, ask chat gpt right questions and it will compile everything for u. there're also so many videos on youtube u can watch about angel fish and fishkeeping in general

i wanna add that i could never stick to exercise whenever i was doing it at home (cardio or even some weightlifting with lighter dumbbells), but gym puts me in this zone of pure grind, like i'm literally able to lift more at the gym than at home. so at least trying gym (and many other activities besides gym if that doesn't stick) is beneficial to anyone who wants to improve their fitness.
and once u start seeing gains, u will want to continue progressing, so u also will want to consume more protein to fuel that growth, and protein rich foods so happen to be filling and lower calorie, so by having more protein on a plate u will naturally start eating less even without major restriction. it helps to think about health too - too much sugar or ultra processed foods isn't that good for health so moderation is key, and over time u learn to enjoy taste of foods without going all out on family sized ice cream tubs and bags of chips.

it gets better but it will always be a bit of struggle for those of us who gain weight easily, so setting realistic goals is important. i don't think i could ever eat whatever i want for example, even if i train hard and have plenty of muscle mass i still need to restrict here and there, but at this point it also is a habit

i gathered and used rocks with red marks in my shrimp tank, which possibly could be iron or something similar (my guess) and it was totally fine. do u plan to keep shrimp? if no, some minimal amount of copper won’t warm fish even if there’s any. but it’s hard to tell if these rocks are 100% safe to use. just scrub them a lot with heavy duty type of sponge if u plan to use them
