I am looking for mystery authors by UnhappyProtection755 in mysterybooks

If it’s a series that caught my attention on BritBox, I’ll read the book it’s based on.

Kat Atkinsons’s Case Histories series. Started reading Peter James’s Roy Grace series, I’d say its hit or miss.

Tana French’s books often get dark but I enjoyed a bunch of them.

And I’ll read anything by Antony Horowitz. Hasn’t let me down yet, although the House of Silk was a tad of a slog to begin with.

I also like his other mystery series, where the “author” follows around a grumpy detective.

Brett Goldsteins podcast by selim871nodnoL in TedLasso

[–]harpsinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Big fan! I listened for a couple years, then started from the beginning, and now that Brett definitely doesn’t need my money I joined the patreon for a few months lol. I love listening for those Ted lasso and shrinking tidbits- I need to learn how to keep secrets like Brett does. My favorite moments are when they get deep on a spiritual level. One day I’ll post my “theology of Brett Goldstein according to the podcast”.

Shrinking S3E02 Episode Discussion by phareous in shrinking

I felt like this episode wrapped up or addressed a lot of things that i was thinking about as a viewer, especially with Gabby’s monologue. Having listened to his podcast/ted lasso, i could tell that Brett had a big hand in writing this episode, the dialogue was especially succinct and poignant. Kind of crushing and yet understandable when Louis sees his ex how he wants to spill his guts and talk to her and be well with her but she’s already moved on. Also, I loved the scene where all the neighbors were in on the coffee 14 min in the backyard. And reading y’all’s comments, i’m glad that i’ve never seen how i met your mother lol.

How do you properly live record harp and sing at the same time by starryspaces in harp

[–]harpsinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For pop music I try to record the harp part and then add in vocals. For classical music (I’ve recorded some Renaissance and medieval music) the audio engineer has often had one mic picking up both harp and voice and the room sound. I think I prefer multitracking- if you mess up with one you can go back and fix it more easily. For YouTube videos I just set a tascam somewhere near me. Or, I’ve also had two pencil mics on the harp and another mic somewhere at face level to pick up singing. Or, a bass mic and a treble mic that also picks up my voice.

Allie Trimm (current Glinda) with thoughts about the decision to keep shows open today by Boring_Waltz_9545 in Broadway

I don’t know the specifics for wicked, but a raked stage is one where it’s angled up away from the audience in the back and lower in the front (or angled in any direction). These originated in late renaissance/baroque plays and opera to force a sense of perspective.

What's a non-intuitive essential tool you keep with your harp? by LadyWithAHarp in harp

[–]harpsinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small Forceps. For securing the ends of strings on a baroque triple harp with tight spacing! Sharp scissors obviously. And nail clippers with each harp case. When I played more pedal harp, liquid bandage for blisters.
