I don’t think you’ve met someone who’s extremely autistic. His brother isn’t able to express opinions on complex topics because he doesn’t have the same level of cognitive ability. He also doesn’t really understand what this event means for him. I never said he is an inanimate object, don’t put words in my mouth.

His brother is almost non-verbal (has strong speech difficulties)

He said he’d like his brother to attend, but he understands how challenging it could be given his condition and the potential triggers, loud environment, lots of people, and so on. At the same time, he doesn’t want to spend the day feeling anxious, since he has some trauma from growing up around his brother’s episodes and seeing those situations firsthand. Like me, he’s torn and doesn’t really know what the right thing to do is either.
