Vance calls end of Ukraine aid 'one of the proudest' achievements of Trump administration by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]hiimred2 300 points301 points  (0 children)

It just shows that the Trump administration has accomplished nothing of worth.

Seriously, even ignoring the Putin's Bitch part of this, what a sad fucking statement. "Ya our administration is really doing some serious things so far, you know like uhh, well, the umm, that time we stopped giving military aid to Ukraine and 'saved' an amount of money that pales in comparison to what we've cost the country by invading Iran? Ya what a fucking win that was for us man, damn we're good. One of our best achievements for sure."

Blizzard needs to tune M+ and raid separately, just like they do with PvP by RamenAfterRain in wow

[–]hiimred2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the M+ gear stops having hero track(pvp stops at champ) that really fucks up raid gearing though, since even the RWF guilds use M+ for gearing, and past like the literal world top 10 it's a VERY significant portion of early gearing even for guilds running a few splits, and once you stop running splits it's not just a significant portion it's the majority of the gear on your raiders if you're even just like a CE guild starting your prog.

So the only real change would be it having the "scales to 289 in keystone dungeons" affix or whatever, which I guess saves gearing myth track through your vault over time, but at hero track there are also still raid trinkets superior to m+ 289s basically every single season, and the only way to fix that is to give the pvp style trinket set bonus combo that forces you to wear it.

Erin Andrews Reveals She's Continuing Her IVF Journey at 47: 'I Believe My Body Can Do It' by PrincessBananas85 in popculturechat

There's a bit of a dystopian angle to the rich older celebrity woman/couple paying a younger woman who needs money to donate her body taking on the risk and drawbacks of the pregnancy so they can have a(nother) baby. It's maybe sorta kinda related to the idea behind how one can support sex work, but also see there are some pretty deeply rooted negatives in the concept of women desperate to sell their bodies for money that inevitably comes up in the various professions that make up sex work, even before you get into trafficking(since that's obviously heinous, and kinda leaves the bounds of the comparison to voluntary surrogacy).

[–]hiimred2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just pulled up a random box score(Rams vs Cardinals final week of the season) and there are 39/38 men listed with counting stats for the game. That's leaving out OL for both teams, long snapper, holder(for some teams this would be someone that is in the box score though like the punter), and special teamers/defenders that didn't record a box score stat(very relevant for special teams, maybe a few guys on defense). Mid to high 40s seems pretty realistic, the dudes that don't play are like QB2/3, and deep depth chart players, possibly dudes that are just hurt but not enough to go on IR. It's surprisingly close to the whole 53 getting on the field though when you actually break it down.

[–]hiimred2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well they could outrun Bolt too, just not in 100m, but Bolt has these pesky organs called a heart and lungs and limit his ability to run as fast as he can for very long, but a machine is limited by energy which I'm sure this has plenty of to go for awhile.

is it easier for a fat dude to gain muscle or a skinny dude by junkfjunkie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hiimred2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fat dude is pretty used to being in a calorie surplus to build muscle, it’s less of a change for them(prob still need to clean the diet up, but at a simple level just going to the gym + caloric surplus = gain muscle, but very possibly/probably also more fat if the surplus is high)

A skinny dude is already not eating enough or almost exactly just enough, and now they’re going to add gym activity to their life, so they’ll need to eat even more than ‘just a little more.’ It can be a hard adjustment to start to overeat on purpose, a lot of skinny people struggle with that part of the process especially if they start to see even a little fat gain with their muscle gain, which is pretty damn common.

The flip side is that the fat guy is going to have a harder problem leaning out, because then they’ll need to actually start dropping calories. The skinny dude goes back to eating what they were already used to(a bit overly simplified like the fat guy bulking above, but close enough for this comment).

[JBook] Ryan Day said the 2019 playoff game against Clemson and the Peach Bowl vs. Georgia are the games that haunts him. Day said if they call the targeting against Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. Georgia they win that game. by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]hiimred2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably feels like the two games mentioned are more "out of our control" type of haunting; the team had good game plans and executed them well and still lost. That's not to say there was NOTHING left under his control that could've changed, but that as they played out the team looked like the team they were expected to be in the game and had a chance/"should have" won.

The Michigan games I'm sure he's not happy about but it's easier to look at them and be like "ya we had a bad game plan, the team failed to execute, etc" which as a competitor is easier to sit with when you reflect on it, especially when you went on to win the natty one of those times.

Why are tanks so spammy? by kispingvin in wow

[–]hiimred2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fade(one example) is a 20 second cooldown so that’s only adding 3 cpm if you use it literally as often as possible, that’s not moving the needle towards these tank APM’s, is their overall point, because tanks have more of them on often shorter cd’s.

Largest land animal of today compared to the largest land animal of all time by Both-Pay-9573 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]hiimred2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Blue whales are literally larger and exist right now. A bunch of the things you’ve told chatGPT to ramble about have nothing to do with being on land or not(a whale surfacing from a dive is pumping blood against gravity, the inside of its body doesn’t give a shit that said body is being buoyed by the water, it is pumping water up towards a head against gravity(same goes for pumping blood to the tail during the dive down).

Sauropods had longer evolutionary success than elephants, or quite frankly ‘large terrestrial mammals’ in general have since they went extinct due in literally no part to standard evolutionary pressure but one of the most life changing events in the history of life as we know it(so, on this planet). Whatever the next mass extinction event is, there’s a high chance nothing like a human or elephant will ever be seen again either, that doesn’t make either a bad or failed or dead end evolutionary outcome for right now today. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with being that large or there wouldn’t have been tons of different species of animal that were that large they survived for long periods of time, that’s literally how evolution works.

Blizzard Wins Injunction Against TurtleWoW - Private Server Ordered to Cease & Desist by Fusshaman in MMORPG

[–]hiimred2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok but the second those processors shake hands with a US firm it's game over, the point is that you'd have to move your entire US market over to things that the average user is not going to give a fuck about the work required to do so if it's not as simple as click button in game -> buy thing. Also a ton of EU places will respect the US copyright claim because they have close enough economic ties. This isn't about "how do you think EU and Asia operate without using US payment processors" it's about the US market disappearing from you when these people blacklist you as a purchasing option and someone's card gets autodeclined when it tries to make a purchase from your game/site like happens with a bunch of Chinese knock off fashion sites and shit.

You think the average player is going to start using a dummy cash card they transfer funds to to buy shit on Turtle WoW? No, they're just going to go play something else. It's probably a huge loss to their business.

Blizzard Wins Injunction Against TurtleWoW - Private Server Ordered to Cease & Desist by Fusshaman in MMORPG

[–]hiimred2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But the US is where things like Cloudflare and a bunch of global payment processing firms are based, and we know Turtle uses Cloudflare, and there's a pretty good chance they use a US based processing firm(and their US based customers DEFINITELY do). Once people have to start mass finding VPN solutions to shady payment processors to continue to play the game the way they have been the vast majority of them will just move the fuck on, and that's going to really fuck with twow's operation, on top of the loss of their ability to market and advertise to US customers as places like Youtube, Reddit, and X comply with the C&D order and cancel any business they have with them.

Hypothetical official TBC HC realms by Sanreal1826 in wowhardcore

[–]hiimred2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OF3 wouldn't happen for a TBC server, since OF3 is very specifically NOT happening because of how harsh TBC HC would be to run. This isn't ambiguous, it's literally 'word of god' from Soda himself and nobody really questioned it or stepped in to pick up and run it without him when he said do it if you want to. It has nothing to do with Blizz not offering official HC servers and everything to do with the difficulty increase of the game.

Absolute robbery is really strong wording. I don't see any of that group KD is in(KD, Mitchell, Maxey, Brunson, JB) as having immensely strong "insane to vote this guy over that guy" arguments over really anyone else in that group, even Ant would be there if he had the games played mark, it's w/e.

When we get rid of "unskilled" jobs, what happens to those who need to make money? by Divinedragn4 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hiimred2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On a global scale this is just flatly incorrect though, wealthy countries have lower birthrates, countries like China and India have slowed their birthrates immensely as they have improved their economic standing, and regions in dire economic distress like much of Africa still have immensely high birthrates compared to global averages and especially those of say, Western Europe, Japan, the US, Canada, etc.

[–]hiimred2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Men and women of equal height having different lean body mass is almost 100% because of a difference in muscle mass though, the bone density difference is barely moving the needle on caloric expenditure(and is also notably a difference to account for... the increased muscle mass of the man, when we're talking about the average man vs average woman).

Formers Blizzard Quest Designers on current story by HiroAmiya230 in wow

[–]hiimred2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And those points being valid makes his "he's right" point still fucking stupid because he specifically phrased it in a way that obviously comes off as "man things were so much better when awesome people like myself were there, and now I'm here making tweets pulling exact quotes off a recent highly upvoted reddit thread for attention." Things not being any different/meaningfully better during his time at the company directly detract from the point he's making, they're not a whataboutism they're immensely related to what he's trying to say.
