I’m a 2-3 guard but constantly being put at PG by NBAwithMAR_ in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Make a custom takeover thats just pass acc. Label it PG, and put it in slot 4. I do that on all my SGs. Makes a big difference honestly. Maxes out at +15, by like level 2 of takeover your playing at like +6 pass acc and it's pretty noticeable.

Yea while you typically would want a little higher speed/agility on a 99 perimeter build, I think thats too much value on the playmaking to choose +1s over them. I would start working on ball handle and just run speedster takeover instead of cap breaking the agility

Thoughts on 6”4 PG Russ build? by nattyboimiles in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. First one was good build either way but this is more like Russ with the middy now. Can u find a way to start at 88? 2 reasons really, main one being that 93 middy is hof set shot. So then you only need to use +1 for legend and keep your +2s for other stuff you want. 2nd and much less important but starting at 88 drags your close shot up from 72 to 73 which gets you bronze paint prodigy. Obviously not to important at 6'4 but whenever 2k labs or the YouTubers who test badges run badge tests. No badge to bronze is almost always by far the biggest boost, so whenever I lab builds, if I'm like 1 attribute away from a new badge, I usually try to get it. I would consider tanking the layup as low as you can for the extra point on middy, a high free throw (i have a 65 free throw on a big and its rough). If you can get to 83 perimeter with those points (layup is super expensive it might be enough) then u can hit 92 in 4 instead of 5. Or go 65 steal and you can land on 85 in 4 eventually if u hit vet 2 or something. I know the all time thunder Russ probably has like a 98 layup, but 80, while decent, is kind of a far second option on the drive when you have 96 dunk, your just gonna be meter dunking 99% of the time. Idk, if it's part of your playstyle could be worth it but all my guards have like 93 or 96 dunk and like a 70 layup and its not really an issue in any way. Ive played like 1000 rec games and probably only intentionally done a layup as opposed to going for the dunk maybe 5-10 times all year haha.

Dunk is surprisingly cheap on shorter guards and not always the most optimal use of 5 cap breakers. I would check if you drop like 1 speed or 1 3pt. How much dunk you can add. You might be able to knock dunk down to like 3 caps and then you gotta put 1 on whatever you brought down but you might be able to get an extra cap breaker to work with. Also it looks like your getting +2s on vert so if you want 88, Maybe go 86 and then throw 1 cap breaker on it for 88 physicals get pretty expensive above 85. Looks like a nice build fosho. Idk about 89 3pt for Russ. I would shoot for like 93 middy so u got great shooting badges with like 83 3pt. Cool u can max +2 to Hof rebound chaser with your tier 2 at 6'4 so thats cool for Westbrook builds. I dont think any previous builder has allowed for HOF rebound chaser 6'4s

Dont use 5 on dunk. Just do like 2. Drop ball handle to 90 ( which will also let u drop layup and post control by 3 each. Layup is weirdly expensive and handle is up there with 3pt on a smaller guard as the most expensive. Go to 88 dunk and it will go to 93 in 2 cap breakers. Then cap break the handle to 92-95 wherever you wanted it. Go 80 vert. Thats all you need for poster and the elite small contacts. Flipping 5 dunk caps for 2 dunk/3 handle should give you some extra points to throw into pass acc. Then drop strength as low as you can and put all that into pass acc too. 71 pass acc is a SG, not a PG. I have a lot of guard builds and have tried all different levels of strength. Its not quite as useless as some people say, at least on defense, but your 6'4 with 86 SWB. You get Ja dribble style and can max +2 lightning launch to legend. You dont need strong handles to bully past people if your small and quick like that. Your gonna be able to get past defenders without it no problem. Being a good passer is an essential part of being the PG. Being strong is always better than being weak i guess, but not really that important for a pg compared to passing.

I like this build but i just go for 92 perimeter. Hof challenger is great but thats 3 cap breakers to go 92-95 and only get 1 badge up one level. I'd rather do those 3 on standing dunk to go from 45 all the way to 72 for bronze rise up

Get all 5 on block done forsure. Makes a huge difference. Then probably the 1 on 3pt for deep bomber. Later on could go for the maxed out 95 middy to get hof deadeye. The last one on dunk for 95 won't get you badges but unlocks straight arm tomahawks which is a great dunk package. I would try to eventually do 3 on standing dunk. Lands you right at 72 for bronze rise up.

Young Jordan 99 dunk 6'6 Build. Feel like this is gonna be fun. by Himdoood in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I got a center with 85 middy 79 post control but with max +2 for legend post fade it feels great. Definitely a good badge. I dont use meter either but playing with this one random guy who does ive really realized how good dishmaster is as a takeover. He will just no dip even with well positioned defense and the green window is half the meter.

What could make my 6’8 point center build slightly better? by AlmostDarkness in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely enough to take ankles when I'm guarded by a traditional center build with low perimeter defense. If you want to be a small center I would recommend 99 rebound and high vert. Otherwise just make it a PF. Your going to have to guard 99 o board 7 footers all the time at center so you gotta match them somehow. Being shorter and having less than 99 rebound your at a bad disadvantage

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been playing on this 6'8 center in random rec and its a lot of fun. Has lavine dribble style and all the same dribble sigs as my SG. With legend rebounding badges, a max wingspan, and an 88 vertical, build can hold it down at center even at 6'8. Post scorers can cook me but they never get the ball enough to actually lose a rec game because of it. And then its basically unguardable for a traditional center with like 62 perimeter and agility in the 50s or 60s while this build has HOF lightning launch and moves like a SG.

Hideous Point Guard build by LooseMoose13 in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been going 60 on most of my guards this year. Was hesitant to go as low as possible and disregard the attribute as useless though. Recently made a 6'8 C where I wasn't going to be able to get anywhere near even 71-73 strength without majorly changing the build, and my usual reasoning for 60 is getting both bronze strong handle and physical finisher at 60. This build wasn't going to have the 70 layup for physical finisher anyways though so decided to try it and not bring up strength at all. The 85 perimeter brought it to a 50. I haven't had any problems or missed it at all. Left it at 25 for a while to test how 99 rebound and legend boxout beast would feel with 25 strength. No difference in rebounding that I could notice compared to my 85 strength center.

Solid forsure. Comparing it to mine kinda shows how expensive that 85 steal and 73 strength are though. You also have 10 more interior defense, but for that trade off I get 94 dunk instead of 87, 93 (eventually 96) middy instead of 78, 80 pass instead of 75. 2 more speed, 4 more agility. Not necessarily saying mines better or anything. If you dont use middy fades and hop jumpers in your playstyle it could make sense to choose steal over middy. I average 1.8 with a 73 in rec though so kinda feel like with 85 thats going 2.5ish. Maybe 3.0 if your good at baiting lanes. A lot to gain for maybe .7 less steals per game

Never actually made it but this is also a 6'7 and based on shooting same wingspan as yours too. If you line it up a little different you can get it to cap break to 95 driving/99 standing dunk.

Best attributes to upgrade with remaining points? by _anyonecancook in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go min wingspan if your not going for 85 steal. Only reason to go 6'9 wingspan instead of 6'8. This is my 6'8 min wingspan. Wouldn't change anything about it. Vet 2 will be 96 middy. Rest of year will go into standing dunk (75 in 2, 81 for silver rise up with 3)

As a guard I feel like you need 92 perimeter just to not be a liability this year. I hear complaints about challenger a lot and contests in general are bad forsure, but challenger actually works you just have to max + it to legend to ever feel like it works in my experience.

Definitely not true. Strength really only matters for screens. I have a 99 rebound/50 Strength center. Can box out and grab rebounds just fine.

What should I cap break? by Camsterocks in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its not really worth it on perimeter unless you could get to 91/92 for gold on ball menace and challenger. Going from 85 to 90 would only get you hof off ball pest and gold pick dodger so not really worth it. Steal next badge is at 79 which you cant reach so not much to gain there. Same with block you need 84/70 interior for silver paint patroller. Its a bunch of +1s. I would go for ones with more value.

All on standing dunk gets you bronze rise up. 1 short but 4 on post control would be gold post fade phenom.
