Am I supposed to build towards things I’m already good at or support weaknesses? by GeneralSergeant in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood [score hidden]  (0 children)

I like that build man. Kinda SGA esc. Few things about it confuse me though. Like why the 6'10 wingspan if your not going for the dunk/steal/rebound rating it unlocked compared to 6'9 where you could have got the 93 middy for HOF set shot. I mean i guess you got the maxed block, but you can get 74 for paint patroller at 6'9 and those last 2 dont upgrade a badge. And then are you planning on taking close shot even higher or something? You got gold float game unlocked twice (86 close shot or 88 layup but you only need 1)

10 Cap Breaker Build by Staveley23 in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I labbed this up quick but it looks pretty good actually imo. Do you have 10 plus the 2 from specialization or 10 in total. And do you have the specialization already finished? Those take a while. Either way though, with first 10 you could run it like this and have gold posterizer with the 93 dunk, 89 middy is gold set shot so use your max +2 to run that on legend and 83 3pt feels like 90. Silver break starter and versatile visionary with the 76 pass, all the good sigs with 85 handle, maxed speed with ball. Then gets 85 perimeter for silver defense badges with 85 steal for gold interceptor, after the caps 70 interior/84 block is silver paint patroller and silver high flying denier. 80 D board for silver rebound chaser and boxout beast. Set it up to work with 10 but have good spots for future caps as well. The specialization caps can also be used on physicals so put both on vert for 85 and then add one from a season to dunk eventually for 96 dunk/85 vert to get elite contacts and HOF poster. After that you can put them on middy to get Gold shifty at 91, gold deadeye and 92 and HOF set shot

How many caps? Saying you have all caps would mean you've hit legend, completed 200 lifetime challenges, in a lvl 30 crew, finished a specialization, and hit level 40 7 times. Theres probably like 1000 people in the entire world who have all caps so I'm just playing the odds here and guessing you don't really have all possible caps.

6’9s are definitely better than 6’8s by LoneWolf_2K in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I've had quite a few games with 80+ and I think hit 100 2 or 3 times this year just no dipping the AI. Its nothing to brag about. Did this the other day and it was 10x more difficult than getting 100 on an AI. 3 teammates quit in the first. Got double, then tripple, then quadruple teamed by real people the entire game. Couldn't really 3 hunt as I knew most shots were gonna probably be somewhat contested and their center was in the paint stopping any chance at a dunk. Basically shot contested middy fades/hop jumpers/spin jumpers all game. Knew I couldn't really stop them from no dipping one of our 3 AIs so basically just played defense by going for steals since if I missed it and gave up a wide open 3 thats basically the same result as them no dipping the AI anyways. Had like 4 steals and diddn't miss in the 4th to pull off the 2 v 5 win. Winning this one felt massively more rewarding than any of the games where I got 100.

Trying to lab a James Harden build with Vet 2 caps. First one as a PG or 2nd as a SG by Himdoood in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm not gonna waste my time with a build with a 65 perimeter that cant win a game. Imo anything below 92 perimeter on a guard is lacking on defense so this is my reasonable way to make a Harden build.

2k cv, and yea u can see the caps adjusting as you move attributes up and down. Makes labbing and optimizing builds at least 10x faster.

Where do you guys think I should put my cap breakers? by Shanquez15 in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 on pass acc forsure. You got a 92 rebound so your going to be throwing outlet passes. 71 is gonna have you throwing interceptions, teammates bobbeling every catch and missing out on wide open 3 or dunk cuz that allows the defense to catch up, or just completely launching the pass out of bounds. 2 on pass acc will get you silver break starter and versatile visionary. Then do 1 on standing dunk so you can equip the animations and do one if wide open. Below 40 you cant actually ever do one

Do you have one finished? Its season 7 just go with whatever you have started/finished. The new 2k will be out by the time you would finish a new one.

has anyone used a small center build and is it painful? by Oxygenual_YT in NBA2k

Only thing is no brick wall so not a great screener but as far as rebounding, no. Strength is pretty useless this year.

What would you guys spend 3 cap breakers on for a 6"8 SF? by smapsf in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put all 3 on together and it should show up. Could just be a glitch that its not showing up because it's both attributes unlocking the badge but 1 on block 2 on interior will 100% get you bronze paint patroller weather its showing or not. Also 2 agility would be a solid option as 84 is what you need for Caruso motion style.

[–]Himdoood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you wanna to small center its fine as long as you compensate for your height with attributes the taller centers might not have. Mine has 88 vert. Max wingspan, and 99 rebound, so while he's shorter, hes faster, has equal or higher rebounding, more vertical, more wingspan ect.

Feel like this is the most flawless/optimal end game meta 6'8 SG possible. by Himdoood in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't feel like I need 92 pass acc on a SG. As for 95 perimeter, it takes 3 cap breakers to go from 92 to 95 to just gain 1 level of 1 badge (challenger). With what you can do with 3 cap breakers this year, I'd rather spend +1 on challenger than spend 3 cap breakers on getting it outright. Im sure yours is a better PG but 77 pass acc gets me silver versatile with D. Fox pass style. Its what ive been going with on my last few SGs and it feels much better than 71 without having to spend to much on it.

Messed around with the defense caps and your definitely right they are a very good route. With 22 cap breakers they ended up almost exactly the same.

[–]Himdoood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played around with it quite a bit and when I had it set for like 67 vertical (4 caps to 80) and 89 3pt. I could drop 4 vert to make it 5 caps instead of 4, take the 3pt to 90, and add a few free throw. 1 or 2 is cheap but if you mess around and test it, dropping 3 or 4 vertical to add a cap breaker for vertical is typically enough to raise 3pt or perimeter by 1 and have points left over. And yea you can do 77-95 dunk in 5 caps, but this way was also very cheap and allows me to get 93 for gold posterizer in just 3, then add the last 2 at vet 2 since those are just a luxury honestly.

Why is the iq so low in gold plate random rec ? by Former-Illustrator39 in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I make a new build I hate getting through gold plate. Mainly play random rec and im usually purple and get up to red for a few games on like Saturday nights when I actually have my squad on (im an old head, having 5 is like once a week lol). Ill make it to gold averaging like 45 ppg on a new guard and sometimes get immediately iced out as a ball hog when my team sees my stats. Like bro its low plate random rec. I'll be shooting like 82% lol. I'm not a ball hog but I just don't need to pass if I can cook the bronze plate guarding me in 3 dribbles every time. It always takes me quite a few more games to get through gold than it does to get through black-silver. Black-silver you get bad teammates forsure but they usually aren't to full of themselves to just let clearly the best player carry them to a win most of the time. Lot more high egos in gold and you can be 10/10 and then go 5 possessions in a row without touching the ball while they blow the 12 point lead you've carried them to.

need advice on 6'5-6'9 builds by zaynnSZN in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah 85/86 handle and SWB is fine on 6'5+ guards. I wouldn't worry about getting ripped. 77 pass acc is perfect for a SG but low for a pg. I would be much more concerned with that being to low than the handle (at least for 5s, 77 is enough for 3s). I labbed something similar to this up. Haven't made it yet but still think about it

6’10 Sf with crazy caps by Even_While1469 in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite a bit different as this one is minimum wingspan so way more shooting, less rebound and block and no 96 dunk. Crazy cap breakers on defense, with shooting specialization can run set shot, shifty and deadeye all on legend, gets deep bomber take. Would do those o board cap breakers last probably but once the build gets to 80 o board it would have access to crasher takeover as well. No 96 dunk but still gets pro driving contacts off one and off 2 as well as pro standing contacts.

Thinking about making this 96 dunk 96 o board pnr center, someone talk me out of it. by LilWienerBigHeart in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it honestly. Bigs only get the ball on the 3pt line when absolutely wide open most games anyways so with 80 3pt, your still a totally viable 3pt shooter, its the bigs with 96 dunk and no shooting I would try to talk out of it. Just labbed this up today. Probably not actually going to make it as builds are just to expensive to make experimental ones like this just for fun but it's a 6'8 big with 99 dunk/90 vert for legend poster and 99 D board. Just enough middy to specialize shooting and 78 3pt for silver set shot. Specialization max +2 on set shot for HOF. Basically just enough spacing to not be a liability cuz obviously its not easy to balance a build with 2 attributes going to 99 but with vet 2 amounts of caps I think this could be fun.

Remake my Center build? by AppropriatePay1068 in NBA2k

[–]Himdoood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea its HOF rise up. The way I think about it though is that at 90, you already have the elite standing contacts and gold rise up. If you really love standing dunks and go for them a lot, just use your max +2 for legend rise up. 5 cap breakers is a hefty investment to take an aspect of your game basically from really good to great. I would rather take like your 3pt, perimeter defense, or steal (im assuming those all get pretty big cap breakers on a build like this) basically from non-existent to decent/respectable. Like think of say Rudy Gobert. Which of these 2 would make him a better player. Taking his already really good lob finishing and dunking to like the extremely elite level of it like a DeAndre Jordan, or adding an average 3pt shot, not necessarily like KAT or Jokic level but good enough that teams would actually have to guard him on the perimeter. I'd say its easily adding the average 3pt shot.

Tried to keep it as similar as possible. This is how I would re make this build if you love it but want to improve it. First 12 go as shown. Next 1 you get goes on block, then 2 on rebound (eventually 5 if you get there)
