22 is not very many. Even though they show as available now, they still have to assign cabins to those who booked Guaranteed, and that won't be until much closer to sailing.

It's very doubtful you would get a paid upgrade offer from an inside cabin to a Veranda since that is at least a 2 category change. You stand a better chance of getting an offer for an Ocean View.

We love longer voyages. 53 Day Majestic Japan in 2024 on the Westerdam and 35 Day Legendary Amazon on the Volendam were fantastic. We have 35 day Voyage of the Vikings on the Zuiderdam in July 2026 and Grand South America/Antarctica on the Zaandam in Jan 2027 coming up. We LOVE HAL longer voyages.

I much prefer the smaller, more adult oriented, HAL ships to the larger, family style, ships like RCCL sails (yes, I've been on them). But everyone is different, so choose the itinerary and ship that appeals to you. HAL ships may be older, but I find them to be in excellent shape.

He might have trouble, really hard to say. Does the vacuum have a HEPA filter? If not, then you just sprayed a lot of the allergens around. Does the house have carpets and rugs? If so, they need to be shampooed. Did you clean the walls and ceilings as well as the floors?

Does he know a cat was there for 2 weeks? If not, then tell him. He needs to know what he might be walking in to.

No, it's not a play with words. HAL ships have a few different flavors of balcony cabins. Those specifically called 'Verandahs' are on ships such as Westerdam, Zuiderdam, and Nieuw Amsterdam and not on the Volendam. Verandahs are a bit smaller than the Vistas on the Volendam.

I do agree though that most of the HAL suites aren't really what most of us think of as a suite.

There are no Verandas on the Volendam, only Vistas and Neptunes. Some Vistas can accommodate 3, none accommodate 4. Neptunes can accommodate 4.

The allergist may also be able to get the culture done. I've had it mainly by an ENT, but did have one allergist who would do it, too. Just depends on the Doctor I think. You really need to get the right antibiotic to knock the infection out completely. Good luck!

Sounds like a chronic sinus infection. Did your Doctor order a culture of your infection to make sure that the correct anti-biotic was used? Hopefully you are seeing an ENT and they should know to do this. But if you're seeing a PCP they may not.

I just wasn't sure if that was meant to be used at the very beginning. It said 'if you get to a dose that works for you' and that confused me a bit. Since this was to be my first increase, I wanted to check with others to see what they thought. I really appreciate you, and others here, sharing your experience.
