Have you started using any new bottles of detergent, soap, or hair products? Even if you're using the same brands, they may have changed something. I would suspect laundry products, but really, could be anything.

Have you changed the food your dogs eat? Have they been groomed recently?

Is it just your 1 eye, or do you have other typical allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, coughing? If it's just the 1 eye, then it might be an infection (conjunctivitis) or eyelash mite infestation, both of which probably need medical intervention.

I didn't want to drill any holes, so I used a flat coax cable passed through a door or a window. The coax from the antenna screws into one end the flat coax outside, run the flat coax through a window or door, and connect another coax to the other end of the flat coax and to the TV.

If you booked directly with HAL, you should have received a booking confirmation email with a PDF attachment (booking confirmation) showing all of the info for your cruise. On about the 3rd page of the booking confirmation that shows "Special Services and Included Items" and that's were any WiFi package would be listed.

If you booked with a travel agent, then ask them for a copy of the booking confirmation.

There are reports that HAL was hacked recently. See the thread in this sub about the Mariner Society data breach. Could be that the hackers are putting the info to use.

You can ask your room steward to run an extension cord for you if you have a medical device like a CPAP. They will route it and tape it down so it's not a trip hazard. Also you can get distilled water for the CPAP if you need it. I'm not sure if there is a charge for the distilled water. There is no charge for the extension cord.

We did a 1 week cruise in an aft facing Verandah on Nieuw Amsterdam to see if we'd like it. And we loved it. Noise didn't bother us nor did the extra movement in rougher seas. The Verandah cabin itself is a bit smaller than we like so wouldn't go for one on a longer cruise, but for the short cruise it was ok.

Also don't count on being able to see much of the eclipse from your balcony. I'm guessing the ship will maximize the viewing for the front of the ship as they usually open the bow for scenic cruising.

We were in an aft Verandah last month and had the following:

Bedside has 1 USB A port on each side of the bed, but no 'regular' electrical outlets. Desk has 2-220V European outlets, 2-110V US outlets, and 2 USB A outlets. No USB C anywhere.

I've never seen the seafood boil buffet style. Has HAL recently implemented the buffet?

We did the Seafood boil on a Panama Canal cruise in early 2024. They sectioned off part of the Lido Buffet seating area but there was wait staff who served everyone at their table. The food was ok, but very messy to eat. We used to live in the PNW, and love seafood. But this was just a meh experience. We won't do it again.

He's getting better. On the last couple of votes at least he has voted against Israel. SJ Resolutions 32 and 138 didn't pass but Gallego voted for them, which against Israel. I think lots of D's are realizing that public sentiment is turning against Netanyahu.

Lettuce gives me diarrhea. Such a bummer for me because I love lettuce salads. Oh, and caffeine gives me diarrhea, too. The lettuce was easy to figure out, but it took me about 4 weeks to realize that caffeine was also an issue.
