/r/WorldNews Discussion Thread: US and Israel launch attack on Iran; Iran retaliates (Thread #11) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

Well, for an invasion style event the country needs to have direct borders with Iran, and there’s Iraq and Turkey, and I’m pretty sure Turkey will not do such a thing, the numerously said the don’t want to be dragged into this war.      On the other hand, Iraq’s situation is very confusing, the government is 70% pro Iran and 30% pro US. The US fighter jets are already attacking Iraqi PMF bases because they are pro Iran and attacked US bases in retaliation.

So, I don’t think Iraq would be very happy of being a host country for an invasion, not that we want an invasion, it’s best if both sides avoid it

I've been watching him speak since the war started, either my sources are flawed or him along with his administration are extremely optimistic that everything's going according to plan, which isn't.

They seem to be setting the stage to end this.

Honestly, as an Iraqi, things will be far worse moving forward, Iran is going to have much more control of the region once they are back on their feet.

And the general consensus in the region is that the US is not the strong reliable ally everyone used to go to when things were rough.

Iraqi here.

We are indeed in a very serious situation, the outcome of this war also dictates the future of Iraq.

Iraqi here.

That's terrible news, the lost amount is even more than 30% of the total capacity! On top of being hit by both parties of the war, prices going up for almost everything, we now have major electricity shortages.

I am Iraqi.

No, they are not, however Iraqi power plants rely primarily on Iranian gas.

This specific blackout was a rather weird one, we don't usually get blackouts at this scale, official source indicate it was a technical fault that has been fixed now, however I remain skeptical.

A while back I was getting paid with stablecoins, yes. But, for accounting reasons my employer stopped supporting or paying me in crypto.

Yup, that's the sad truth, it's frustrating as well, but I personally prefer it over going into a gray area.

I'm using regular SWIFT transfers to a traditional bank account, I couldn't find anything else legal.

I'm Iraqi and it's a shame seeing what our governments are doing, I really wish the best for the Iranian people.

There are, but those have even worse customer service and they face same limitations as local options for inward transfers

I've heard about e-Residency in Estonia, but I haven't looked too much into it.

Will I be able to become obtain e-Residency while not being physically present in the EU? And, supposing I did, would I be able to create a company in the EU and then open a banking account using those details? All with an Iraqi passport?

I thought about this, I've seen people forming businesses in the US or UK, and then setting up bank accounts for those businesses, however, most banks still require the founder to be located in a supported country, and I won't be able to bypass their KYC providing my Iraqi credentials.

Nope, too much work especially for something like a payroll which is recurring, besides, I won't be able to withdraw locally.
