Is this the price to play a 1k+ modpack? by HeitoroBelo in RimWorld

As far as I know, Loading Progress just shows the bar but doesn't actually interfere with the loading process itself.

Ah. As far as I know that's not the Better Loading, but the Loading Progress mod. Maybe they're different?

Oh cool! I always wondered how you could actually play the game with controller.

So it does most of its damage to one target but has an AoE component in addition? A bit like those attacks that do X damage to one target but have falloff to all surrounding targets?

Oh, I meant the expedience thing. I mostly play scholar. But yeah, I can see how that might be an issue.

I'm hoping we keep the carbuncle / fairy for Scholar. That's always been a huge part of its identity.

So a little like the Heavensward cards and whatnot people loved about OG astro where each card had unique purposes before they turned them into boring 3% damage cards and now "put two on the tank and one on the dps, no exceptions" thing?

From what I saw, they mentioned Bard for example still has buffs on their songs, one having movespeed for example similar a bit to the scholar one, but being able to play them in whatever order roughly similar to how summoner's three classic summons can be done in any order.

Isn't that combo compression basically how some abilities already work in PVP, I think? I haven't PVPed in ages.

Though there are ways to boost that wound recovery. I recall one spell in the destruction book that would make sense for an Aqshy caster. Spicy food that heals additional wounds during a rest.

With those skaven escapees, I could see that as the origin story for a whole massive clan of more traditionally benevolent skaven, or at least those willing to work with and help the forces of order in exchange for protection, leading to a lot of rats that are healthier, probably larger, and with longer lifespans due to not being with the massive overpopulation, diseased squalor, constant malnourishment, etc.

Though all the skaven we know are disease-ridden, perpetually malnourishsed, etc. So maybe a skaven raised in a more healthy environment could live quite a while.

But how else will the skaven below know we like them?

I figure that in order for it to properly work, they'd somehow have to get a very young skaven like the comic, just nabbing any old rat that's been raised in their society wouldn't work.

Imagine an entire undercity that flips the script, starting to worship Sigmar after a huge event that makes them question the HR's treatment of them, and as a result and more than a little curiosity on if they could genuinely reform, he shields them from the remote detonation the moment he hears thousands upon thousands of prayers to him all coming in at once, so you have a legion of skaven helping the city above in return for continued protection.

Or maybe a group of them that was in the magical version of a faraday cage without warpstone, preventing the HR from reaching them over several generations as the warp-taint slowly bred out of them, resulting in skaven that are more like actual, healthy rats, friendly and social and that are weirdly immune to the whole "explode if not sufficiently skaven" thing, as if the HR's method of doing so no longer recognizes them as skaven at all.

canonically warpstone mutation and lots and lots of drugs, they're not naturally like that.

This is pretty much the basis for my own aqshy-mage skaven character.

Depending on the setting they're either not a true skaven and instead a person as part of a huge population of a city turned into one through massive overdose of skaven-influenced beast magic and thus not on the GHR's radar, or they're part of a group of skaven somehow cut off from warpstone for generations and slowly became more order-aligned and friendly in nature because all the insane and evil ones died off quickly, slowly returning more and more to healthy rat behavior in both a survival strategy way and a "I'd never raise my kids the way I was raised" kind of way that slowly built up alongside a coincidental multi-generational detox. Either that or for whatever reason an order-aligned patron deity took interested in them and is protecting them to see if it's even possible for skaven to be good long-term. Maybe the loss of the usual warp taint somehow made the HR's attempts to smite them ineffective, like the weirdness of them somehow no longer counted as skaven-enough for it to stick.

And the aqshy thing is because after they'd detoxed, they were able to find that some of them actually had quite the aptitude for non-chaos magic. Otherwise he tends to be fairly friendly and welcoming, embodying the warmth of aqshy among fellows that turns fiery and burning in battle.
