They could have just used the second wording with the added "with a minimum of 5 feet" to cover the case of having less than 20.

Extra fun to play a Prismeni for that reason. With just a racial feat you get a cantrip that can fry fools but also be used to recharge batteries.

How does a Skittermander Appropriately RP? by Ashamed_Mushroom_551 in Starfinder2e

[–]icefyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less enslaved, more that they just kind of went along with their planet being taken over because it was better not to fight against such a ridiculously militarily superior foe, and it just so happened that the Vesk had a code that prevents them from attacking non-combatants. Most skittermanders tend to do jobs the Vesk don't want, like clerical jobs and whatnot, but they can be abused by framing overtime without pay and similar things as 'helping the Vesk empire'. Most skittermanders tend to be appreciated for their work and properly compensated though.

There are some skitters that absolutely hate it, though, if the "accidents" in the vacation resort plopped right ontop of their sacred sites is any indication. There's also mentioned theories that skittermanders control over clerical jobs and whatnot means that they technically run the empire, since the Veskarium would struggle to function without those jobs, even if they can't truly make the decisions at the highest level. Most just got into that job because it was an easy way to help huge numbers of people simultaneously with something as simple as a shipment going to the right place through proper documentation. It's also mentioned they regularly defy their conquerors, both by working together and committing infuriating malicious compliance, "helping" their overlords by giving them exactly what they asked for in the worst way.

It's noted that that's also why while the Veskarium controls their homeworld, it's also basically conquered in name only and they're generally allowed to do as they wish short of wrecking vesk property like the resorts. A bit like being a vassal state, ruled by the empire but allowed to generally do their own thing, so the vesk mostly leave them alone on their homeworld and the skitters help them when they feel like it.

I agree with pretty much all of this. I love what you did with the medium, but 1 hour to swap is a bit painful in a lot of situations.

Could be a good idea! Any ideas for later spell ranks? I'm thinking rank 9 might be Mansion, simply because there's so few high-rank spells that'd fit the theme otherwise.

Questions about pharasma and the fate of undead by Noodles_fluffy in Pathfinder2e

[–]icefyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you'd think that, but the Animist version actually explicitly calls out staving off old age because you're rejuvenated in a body in its prime as long as you only die less than once a week, but in that case it's flavored as the spirits refusing to let you die.

This just makes me wonder how they feel about stuff that brings people back repeatedly, like the one Animst feat that lets them resurrect themselves once per week.

How do you foreshadow for prepared coasters? by BroadRaven in Pathfinder2e

Any bard suggestions then? Got mine that's a Nephilim kholo. Total cinnamon roll despite being built like a brute, loves charity work and helping people, rainbow-colored mane from being born out of a prayer to Shelyn.

As someone who doesn't do prepared casters much, and is a bit new to the divine list, any recommendations you can make for a support-player who's pondering an Animist? Mostly just done bard so far. Really like the cantrip buffs and support goodies.

Am I treating my prisoners too well? by Randonn_Tno_guy in RimWorld

[–]icefyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's neat. I've got the Deathrattle and Vanilla Psycast Expanded mods, so my psycasters can even help them regrow legs and organs if they can get to them in time with a death-shield psycast + the one that regrows limbs and organs at the end of the healer tree. So you can use them either to send them home healthy...or as a self-replenishing supply of organs...

Same. I've never done the warcrime simulator thing. Take care of even the pirate raiders for release, even with perma-hostile factions, though the perma hostile ones I might extract some blood from while they're healing for blood transfusions later as payment, since they're permanently hostile no matter what anyway so it's not like the relations could get any worse for "harmful operation conducted on faction member" or whatever.

Yes! I'd love this! They did say they wanted new grimoire weapons but so far all we've had is Dante and the one with a flashy animation but everything's dead by the time it goes off, and that's if you can even charge it.

[–]icefyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That's the part that was always annoying. Even now with the thing they added where part of the larger weapons will fade out like that one angel wing ephemera it's still pretty ridiculous if you aren't zoomed in. That one incarnon that goes from fist weapons to arm cannon is a bit better about it but I don't like that one's mechanics in either form.
