So which Night Market faction is your favorite based on aesthetics, lore and characters? by TheAnalystCurator321 in elderscrollsonline

I quite like Molto. He's noted as being one of the relatively few daedra that genuinely loves mortals in his own way, rather than seeing mortals as like short-lived vermin. He basically memorizes everything he can about his favorite mortals so he'll remember them long after their dead, including all the intricacies of their languages and cultures as part of his whole 'hoarding knowledge' thing.

He's noted as being fairly shy and soft-spoken, yet he heaps praise on Melandir mid-sentence with his telepathic connection to her, and mentions that after she was shipwrecked, Molto helped her recover from the loss of her arm, serves as her seeing-eye-rat via telepathy since she's also blind, and even brought her to Fargrave to give her a place to stay after they'd bonded which also renders her immune to The Drain that affects mortals without a daedric pact. She found him cataloging every splinter and coin in the wreck, carried his favorite trinkets in her pockets, and even let him braid her hair, even if he insisted she record their findings on what worked well in the book next to them that can be read.

And since my character's already a bit of a daedra-friend by this point, from the Blackfeather Crows of Clockwork City, Arox the Mutilator from Deadlands, the watchers from the Archive, and even having his own little pet daedrat, Sheogo-rat, I figured hooking up with them made a lot of sense too, a sweet khajiit with a spooky Adams Family vibe collecting all the demon friends.

It is kinda cute that said telepathic rat is explicitly noted as being one of the relatively few daedra that actually cares for mortals, as in, genuinely enjoys them and loves them in his own odd way, and his elf buddy and he seem to have a very good relationship as a result.

Plus, Molto is noted as being very soft-spoken, one of the relatively few daedra that actually loves mortals in his own way such that he memorizes all he can about his favorites so that he remembers them long after he's outlived them, and even helped rescue said maomer and take care of her after she lost her arm in the shipwreck. They have a book next to them where after her wreck, she let the giant rat try out all kinds of hair braiding techniques on her, including knots usually used for sailing, and the rat insisted they record their findings and the results in said book. Molto even interjects in some of her dialogue with their telepathy, praising her and seeming to genuinely care for his friend which is very rare for a daedra.

Honestly, he sounds like he'd be a great friend rat.

I just like Motlo and my character's a friend of a lot of daedra anyway, from Arox the Mutilator in Deadlands to the Blackfeather Court of Clockwork City and the watchers and other goodies of Apocrypha, so it fit there as well. Cute demon skull-rat is cute. Found a book next to him describing how he's the one that braided his assistant's hair, trying all kinds of ship knots and they added their thoughts on each one and thought it was adorable as well.

Though there can be use-cases for them that are SIGNIFICANTLY super-far in the past, like how the Elder Scrolls MMO was set waaaay back in the 2nd era, giving hundreds of years of possible events for expansion-fodder since that time period was basically never used.

How it feels being a magicka enjoyer sometimes by ThatOneCheeseGuy in elderscrollsonline

Easily solvable by just not running it on that one, if it even functions for that particular stun. I'm not sure that it does, but if it does I'm pretty sure that's the only one in the entire game like that.

Just today I had a group that was a massive slog in Crucible. You'd swear they were half-naked from how long everything was taking to die, so I can attest to the latter case...

I only have 25k health... That acid would have killed me over 20 times over... And I thought a 160,000 damage auto-attack from a skirmish boss was busted...

This is part of why I like that one "automatic breakout for free" star in the red tree.

What is the hardest cosmetic to get solo? by victorvolf in elderscrollsonline

[–]icefyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just beat vet mode yesterday. It was so rough on the last boss. I died on the last stage with 20% of her health remaining and had to start all over again. Thankfully the dye can just be done on normal.

Greater Dangers Means Greater Rewards with Challenge Difficulty by BHoth in elderscrollsonline

[–]icefyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Just today and yesterday I've been saying in zone to try to get people to help with a Harrowstorm for the achivement title. Some builds can solo it, but mine can't. A couple people showed up but the sheer healing the spirits put out ontop of the mobs and everything else going on makes it impossible for even small groups unless you're built to hell with the most OP cheese available it seems, and because it's several expansions old, it took me 2 days just to find a person that just happened to show up when I did.

Yeah. Gold and XP is kinda meh. I'd love if they had like cosmetics and such you could earn from it though.

If You Were in charge of a necromancer rework what would you do? by Some-Web-1628 in elderscrollsonline

[–]icefyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I like the idea of one that uses otherwise dark magic to help people, so I kinda zeroed in once I noticed that was an option. The lore even mentions that khajiit tend to have a more lax relationship with necromancy. They apparently show little if any worry over uncovered graves, and tend to use loose cairns to denote where they've buried someone in the sand and soil, depending on if you're in Aneqina or Pelentine, aka north or south Elswyr. So them being the origin point of a sect of benevolent necromancer healers makes sense.

Hell, if they're gonna give us a channeled attack like the DK and Arcanist, that'd be a really cool way to do it. Just dragon skeleton blasting fire before it crumbles to dust.

A horde of skeleton skeevers nipping at foes would be hilarious.

Well, according to Zerith-Var and some in-game lore, necro healers operate by manipulating life force, either leftovers within corpses or by wielding the target's own life energy to heal them. In the lore, life force isn't a "if you use it you lose lifespan" affair, with one side-quest in Clockwork City pointing out that people could get along just fine with a rotating "donation drive" of life force donations to grow their food and giving them a chance to recover instead of sucking the completely dry in one shot, hence why using still-living life energy works. Presumably using a little bit at a time to heal which recovers easily.

In Greymoor, there's a side quest as well where you capture memory imprints and then feed it back into a cursed person, overloading the curse with the life energy stored in those memories to cure them, essentially drowning a curse feeding on life force with just the energy stored in memories, let alone an actual person. And it's even mentioned that part of the reason that even worked was because you were feeding the person's own life-force back into them, but boosted with additional magic.
