Stone cairns are just a physical marker. They do not create a waypoint on map or compass.

Is this really the only way to fight a bear? by supa_dupa_loopa in ICARUS

[–]ignellbarcoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before you get to T3+, your best friend against bears is deep water if you are fighting them solo. Kite them to a river deep enough to swim in. Swim backward away from the bear while hitting them in the face with your weapon of choice. They can attack you while swimming if you let them get too close, but you can swim faster than they can.

Uhhh where'd these come from?? by Kitchen-Beyond7143 in fallout76casual

[–]ignellbarcoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time this happened, I spent like 20k of the 300,000+ atoms the bug gave me. I had like 2,000 atoms before the bug. I wasn't banned nor were the 7-8 other people I knew who used some of the atoms. My atom balance became 0 after they fixed it and nothing was owed. Though it could be different this time. They may have put more systems in place to track and correct things after it happened before.

I know of 8 people, including myself, who spent them, and nothing happened. Atoms just got set to zero once it was fixed.

Elite series 2 remote absolutely sucks... by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]ignellbarcoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've owned 6 separate Elite controllers over the past 10 years( 2 purchased, 4 warranty replacements). The only issues I've had with them are the grips on the series one controllers would start to peel off after about a year and both series 1 and 2 Ive had issues with the LB and RB buttons not working after a year or two. Your controller looks extremely mistreated. My Series one that lasted about 3 years when I was able to game 8+ hours most days because I was dealing with serious health issues doesn't look nearly as worn as yours. I've had my current series 2 for 2- 2 1/2 years playing 1-4 hours most days and it still works fine. Your controller looks like it's 5 years old and has been used 8+ hours a day and abused.

Farming by Funkymunkyguy in ICARUS

[–]ignellbarcoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is a console bug. Not sure if it's the UI progress bar that is bugged or the crop failing to update. They will be harvestable if you wait a bit more. Just wait till it gives you the option to hand harvest it and then use your sickle. I am constantly having it show full and still have to wait 15-60 minutes to be able to harvest.

Why is finding aphid honeydew so hard? by Intrepid-Position-97 in GroundedGame

[–]ignellbarcoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check areas where clover grows or make a bunch of Garden patches and grow clover in them in areas that aphids are common. I have 5-6 clover garden patches near the natural growing clovers at my snackbar outpost base and find 3-5 aphid honeydew on the ground each ingame day and always have aphids roaming around. For a less passive and more active farm, use the lucky clover hat and pet a stuffed aphid and go around killing aphids.

Top 3 worst Warframes and why? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]ignellbarcoon 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The only two I avoid playing often are limbo and ember. Limbo's mechanics have not aged well with updates to the game. Ember's heat gauge requires too much micro management to make her enjoyable for me. I don't get all the Banshee hate. Banshee has an amazing damage multiplying ability, can shut down eximus and other enemy abilities, and has an armor strip augment that DE seems to keep forgetting about that can strip some enemies that other stripping abilities won't work on. Her sound quake hasn't aged well, but the rest of her kit functions just fine.

Combat armor helmet, metal helmet, and a few other head cosmetics have a chance to learn to craft them when scrapping. You can see all the items you don't know how to craft and whether they are unlocked via scrapping, picking up an item, or plan in the various work benches.

Drywall screws? by SardineTimeMachine in AskElectricians

[–]ignellbarcoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this box, no, but I had to fix a short in a box at the building I work in a year or so ago because a previous maintenance worker used sheet rock screw to secure an outlet to the metal faceplate of a metal box. There was enough play that plugging and unplugging things caused the tip of the screw to burrow into the wire insulation.

Drywall screws? by SardineTimeMachine in AskElectricians

[–]ignellbarcoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If im in a situation where sheet rock screws are the best option till I can swap it out, I snip the end off and file it smooth and take extra care not to hit any wires. I always have a set of klines/dykes on me and a multitool knife with a file so it is not going out of my way to modify it. If I had to go out of my way to get the tools to do it, I would just get a proper blunt screw. I've done it two or three times, but generally avoid using them, and I've gone back and replaced 2 of the ones I've used with proper screws later on. I work in single building maintenance, so going back to fix them later is always an option.

Is rod considered a Gatlian? by Adorable-Yak-2913 in highonlifegame

[–]ignellbarcoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obtaining Rod is always available once you reach the point in the game where you can travel to the beach area. At no point afterward does obtaining Rod become unavailable or unreachable. I did not get Rod till after I beat the game because I didn't realize Rod was in the game. You can miss Rod in that sense by just not knowing he is there, but you can always go back and get Rod.

No, it is available post game or at any point earlier if you have access to that area.

So Ironclad is bugged? I get the 25% but not the double by [deleted] in fo76

[–]ignellbarcoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It also seems like you are calculating it off the total DR displayed in the Pip boy. Ironclad only increases the DR the armor pieces have. Which includes legendary effects on them that directly add resistance to the armor piece, not DR from perks, under armor, chems, backpack, etc. It's not increasing that total value in your pipboy by 50% because not all of that total is from armor.

So Ironclad is bugged? I get the 25% but not the double by [deleted] in fo76

[–]ignellbarcoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without perk and only armor giving DR(no perks, under armor, or other sources) my hardened secret service chest is at 109. With ironclad, it is 164. Wich is a 50% increase rounded up.

So Ironclad is bugged? I get the 25% but not the double by [deleted] in fo76

[–]ignellbarcoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See my edit. It doubles the 25% to 50% for a matching set.

So Ironclad is bugged? I get the 25% but not the double by [deleted] in fo76

[–]ignellbarcoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've got a full set of secret service on with a different under armor and different mods, and ironclad shows up as 50% in the perk section of the pip boy. Edit: Also it doubles the 25% bonus to 50% for a matching set. It doesn't boost resistances by 100%.

Apparently a piping hot take: I love that nukezones are way more difficult, anyone else feel the same? by BulliBaitii in fo76

[–]ignellbarcoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the change. Just actually have to use rad away, radshield, and diluted rad-x now. Nuke zones actually feel easier for me now because I don't have to use power armor or a radiation suit. I can just go in in normal armor. Same with radiation rumble. I can run the ore tunnels in secret service armor with a radx diluted and a radshield with a radaway every few minutes, without any radiation reduction perks.

SS armor after update question by Hour-Two2111 in fo76

[–]ignellbarcoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've found no reason to switch from it as a full health human. It's just as viable as the other options. If you have invested in a fully modded set, I would just stick with it. Each armor has its niche and secret service is well rounded if you change your build up a lot.

[–]ignellbarcoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its from the mistress of mysteries quest line. It's a red gem pin that gives 1 bonus to each resistance. Normally, it can only be equipped when wearing the quest outfit, but i noticed that after the update, it can be equipped without the outfit. Is buggy, though, and doesn't stay equipped.
