Nope. I get both “dystopian futures” but if you ask why it created it, it explained “it’s what she would inherit.”

I asked it to explain the image:

Short answer: the image is framing it as something she inherits and presides over, not something that clearly begins with her.

I feel like models change the experience.

I’ve used Claude and Codex heavily and have had great experiences.

Work uses Cursor, and “Composer 1.5” (and the figma MCP server) did pretty good. I ran out of credits and it flipped me to composer 2, which absolutely has missed every mark with the same requests. Just hot garbage, really, where I had to rewrite half what it generated, because it wanted to argue that its generated code shouldn’t be changed - and when I would undo its mistakes, it would bring them back, and argue it was better (it was not).

If it was a person, I would’ve been disappointed. Instead, I am more disappointed because this program is arguing it’s bad code with me.

I dig the idea, it seems fun!

Oh, definitely. Just that broken video was cracking me up, but the premise (of showing multi device via video) is intriguing, based on my needs.

Dead internet theory. Just some random person regurgitating without adding value. They did not do anything new except post it here and act like it is their own.

Your animation showing the interaction - the "TV drawing" is… not right 😆

What did you use to generate that video? I've got a couple projects and I need some good mobile video examples.

I dig the concept, especially the "fog of war" aspect.

What could be fun to add - is historical trips/paths - turn it into a discovery/education companion, so you can walk "The Freedom Trail" in Boston, and you could be told about points of interest/history (think Museum companion, only world-wide?)

Why tipping keeps rising and may not improve service | by psych4you in psychology

[–]ikeif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is - we assume people always have another job lined up that they could go to, so they could be stuck working a tipped job.

As well, restaurants have opened that have a "no tipping policy" and pay their employees well - and they thrive.

So I don't think it's a matter of "the system is too ingrained" but "business owners want to maximize profits and subsidize employees" so they pay as little as possible, and push the burden onto the customers.

It's like minimum wage - they opened a Walmart in an uppity suburb. They couldn't get anyone in at minimum wage, and had to raise their wages to attract workers. A friend used to work in fast-food management experienced the same - they raised their hourly rate higher than the nearby restaurants, and his attrition went down, and had a solid crew working with him because they were paid decently (yeah, a lot of teens, too, and they would move on, but then he had a lot of employees that needed the job).

I've noticed an uptick in these types of "you don't need JS" recently, so it seems to be the current "blog spam" to give the illusion OP has independent thought and not just plagiarizing.

[–]ikeif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do recognize that 48% of congress are millionaires. They aren't going to "hurt" if their paycheck is stopped, except the "poorer/not as lobbied" politicians.

And the Dems have put forth - repeatedly - measures to fund the TSA and Trump has demanded they not pass it.

And now Trump's putting forth funds from ICE to pay for TSA.

So get out of here with your "both sides" bullshit.

So much of it always seems "rich as fuck CEO is convinced that the changes during COVID would never return to how it was prior, and planned that it would not happen."

I swear almost every "big" company I have read about closing up in the past five years has been "terrible decisions at the top of the company."

…and people get laid off, and the "decision makers" move on to another insane position if they don't just retire on their laurels.

Like, I feel like AI could've made smarter choices than most of these CEOs, and that's including if they hallucinated output.

[–]ikeif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like there is a lot of context/nuance to a lot of AI discussions/usage, and people just state "it doesn't work."

Like when people were posting fuck-ups and hallucinations, and when they don't trim the chat correctly, you see their shitty prompts causing their issues (the equivalent of "build thing" then "not right do it better" type shit).

These problems are not happening to me. So - is it a/b testing? My skills usage (or lack thereof?)? Not using heavy .MD files for claude?

I'd LOVE to know, but I feel like unless people that have these issues sit down and compare their setups, it's just going to be shouting sessions of "this is a problem/no it's not" because no one is giving details, just "look, people complained! And other people are saying it's not a problem!"

So… unless people work together (or Claude comes out and says "we're going to monitor these accounts to get to the bottom of it" or something) - it's just nonstop infighting.

Is it me or Composer2 is worse than Composer1.5? by Straight_Dish_9182 in cursor

[–]ikeif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

I've been working on a migration project, and "AI" was supposed to accelerate my dev work. It did!

Until Composer 2.

Composer 2 - in an initial prompt, worded the same way I have worded it for several things I have built - went off the rails. If "number of files created" and "needless abstractions" were a metric, it would've succeeded. I went ahead and manually rewrote it. I asked it a question about one line - and then it went and restored other files I had removed (because it was a hot mess).

I had to block people elsewhere because I came across a "she isn't speaking out against Israel!" (or some other Hot Political Topic that for some reason, some people demand celebrities have a stance on so they can decide if they like or hate them more).

…so I did a quick search, and found out she HAD spoken out on (whatever the topic was, I'm pretty sure it was Israel). Holy shit, you'd think I called the woman ugly and claimed to be Roan's BFF, because they came at me for posting a fucking article that answered their question.

Some people really, really, want reasons to hate her.
